hey Sean, thanks for all the work you do! any idea why Wes Lee was released? it's not like he was a lock to eventually main event WrestleMania but he's talented, charismatic, and over with the crowd enough that he would have been at least worth trying out on the main roster
It wasn't anything disciplinary, he didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes they just make puzzling releases as a part of broader cuts. He'd been prominently featured, but he's also going to do really well outside of WWE. This was considered the most surprising of all the cuts internally.
Do you think WWE are reducing the size of their WWEID programme (or possibly considering ending it). Will Evolve be affected as well.
Maybe slightly, but they're still recruiting for it, and have plans for it. They have active plans for the championships and their programs. There are going to be naturally occurring situations where developmental get cut. This is an unfortunate reality of having a pipeline, then have a pipeline of a pipeline. The only time that didn't happen was when AEW started and WWE was in talent hoarding mode.
What's your biggest pet peeve in todays wrestling business?
The inability to accept that evolution in wrestling, athleticism and styles is naturally occurring. People not looking at different wrestling as the variety that it is. Just the general insistence of not allowing people to enjoy the type of thing that they want to enjoy. General misery, I would say!

I pretty much point and laugh at anyone who looks at something as broad as wrestling and looks at an aspect of it and just thumbs their nose at it. There has never been a time in wrestling when we as fans have had so much easy access to anything you actually want to watch that focusing on something you hate is just silly.

2025-10-18 18:23:19 +0000 UTCthe evolution of wrestling is real. if you still want to watch that mid south style, its out there. if you want video game style finisher spamming and flippy dippys like i do, its there too. deathmatches, comedy wrestling, there's something for everyone, what a time!
