Some disappointing details surrounding Ridge Holland's WWE departure

Ridge Holland’s WWE deal will be expiring soon.

Luke Menzies, formerly Ridge Holland, announced that his WWE contract will be allowed to expire on November 14. Menzies will be sidelined for the next 6-7 months, and revealed that WWE will continue to pay for the rehab for his injury, but will not be able to work during that period.

There were many fans who acted as if paying the rehab was a good will gesture. However, Ridge Holland was injured while working a TNA booking that was a part of his WWE contract. Not paying for his rehab would have been a situation that likely led to a successful lawsuit on Menzies’ part.

Beyond that, reports emerged from Wrestling Observer that Menzies was on “NXT money,” which is accurate. Fightful Select has learned that Menzies original main roster deal was up in November 2024. He was offered a one-year extension at about $200,000 less than that he had been making, and accepted it. That deal is up in mid-November. We’re told that Menzies wasn’t paid extra as a part of the TNA talent exchange that saw him get injured.

WWE talent that we spoke with were universally disappointed that Menzies was not being paid while injured. One veteran WWE male talent said that this would have never happened pre-pandemic, and that is a significant concern for many on the roster.

EDIT: Apologies, Patreon cut off the end of the post.

TKO is doing the unthinkable - forcing a Vince babyface turn. VC's are what is destroying this country!

Weird, wonder why his contract wasn't frozen during the injury time

LostRhino

Just do the right thing and extend the contract for just a year at least

You can also look at it as them saying that TKO is cold blooded.

Lynchman

They still have time to make this right. Hope they do

"One veteran WWE male talent said that this would have never happened pre-pandemic, and that is a significant concern for many on the roster." While I can appreciate the sentiment, this is the most mealy-mouthed way of saying you wish you were still employed by a serial rapist/human trafficker that I've ever read.
