Update On OVW TV Show Follow Up
Added 2025-09-28 19:00:07 +0000 UTCOVW is moving forward on a new TV show, but it isn’t going to be on Netflix.
This past week, Al Snow made an announcement in Louisville that Ohio Valley Wrestling was going to be filming another season of Wrestlers, or a show very similar to it. However, the show was not renewed after its first season on Netflix. Instead, Fightful was told tha OVW is filming and producing it in-house and shopping it to distributors.
The first season highlighted Hollyhood Haley J, Mahabali Shera, Jessie Godderz and others, and served as some of the first wrestling content on Netflix. However, the show wasn’t picked up for a second season. Netflix also briefly held right of first refusal on OVW’s television broadcast rights.
We’ll work to find out what changes have been made to the approach, as Matt Jones stepped back from many of his OVW duties, and he spearheaded much of the first show.
