Will The Outrunners ever get some gold in AEW/ROH? I feel like they missed a good opportunity at ROH:Death Before Dishonor.
I think they will. At one point, the Young Bucks had pitched an open challenge or a random challenge for their titles at some point, and The Outrunners would have completely squashed them and won the titles. They're consistently over and will do well for years to come in AEW or ROH. I'd be shocked if they didn't.
Hey Sean, what are your thoughts on the “500k five man tag match” and money gimmicks?
I think they are fun in theory, and a natural incentive for a winner. Wins and losses matter because of the "winner's purse" in pro wrestling. That's the motivation. However, I think these have quickly been numbed, and I think should be a little more special.
I'm currently watching WCW/NWO Halloween Havoc 1998. There is a match with Perry Saturn and Lodi. Perry Saturn looked great. He had a great combo of a face smash on the knee, a leg sweep, then belly to back suplex for the win. What combo finisher do you like the most?
Saturn was incredibly underrated. He was fantastic in the ring as a singles, tag, serious, comedy wrestler. He could do it all. That wasn't his usual finish, as he actually used a Death Valley Driver a lot.
I've always loved Sting's fire up chop combo, but as far as direct chains that finished matches, it's hard for me to land on one. The "setup move" used to be far more prominent, though. Now you have a set series of moves, you get those over, and you use them throughout the match in top WWE matches.
I've just always loved a good old spinning backfist-finished combo!
