Bryan Danielson reveals weird Vince McMahon production habit

The pandemic era was a strange one, but Vince McMahon is stranger.

Fightful and DownUnderTheRing's Phid McAwesome spoke to Bryan Danielson for a new interview, where Danielson brought up one of his ideas during the pandemic while he was contributing creatively.

Among the ideas was to debut Damian Priest as a big star to take on Roman Reigns. But while discussing the idea, he mentioned one of Vince McMahon's unusual approaches. He said that Vince McMahon would intentionally tell producers to turn up the canned in crowd noise for certain talent, and then say it was "too loud," for other talent that weren't in favor of McMahon. Danielson said that didn't quite make sense to him, but if they were going to debut Priest against Reigns they should turn that way up.

WWE continued to use a blanket layer of crowd audio even after the pandemic, but have heavily leaned out of canned audio since the move to Netflix.

McMahon is facing a lawsuit from Janel Grant, of which WWE is also a defendant in. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.

I don't think it's controversial to say that AEW cleared WWE in terms of handling the pandemic from a production standpoint. Outdoors in Jacksonville with the talent as the "crowd" feels like it worked way better than a sound stage with walls of video and canned noise.
