Injury changed major creative plans

AEW faced some major creative changes heading into AEW All Out due to injuries.

Fightful Select reported on September 8 that Wardlow unfortunately sustained an injury feared to be a pectoral tear. The injury happened upon his return angle when he hit a lariat on Prince Nana, per Self Made PW.

This affected immediate creative plans at the top of the card in All Elite Wrestling, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned. One of the top matches that was planned for aa lot of the top creative. Originally we reported that Wardlow vs. Hangman was planned for All Out, but AEW sources claim Fletcher was always the plan for All Out.

Wardlow remained on television briefly, before disappearing. We’re told he’ll likely be sidelined for quite some time as things stand. We're told that a heavy point of conversation at MJF's wedding last weekend was how bad everyone felt for Wardlow getting sidelined again. We wish him a speedy recovery.

We're told Fletcher and Wardlow also would have done some work alongside each other for this angle.
