More on Jamie Hayter's return, creative around her absence
Added 2025-08-25 00:58:44 +0000 UTCJamie Hayter returned at AEW Forbidden Door, a little later than AEW had hoped, but to heavy fanfare.
Hayter was injured in the closing spot of her AEW Double or Nothing match with Mercedes Mone. We’re told that initially things seemed okay, but backstage, Hayter began not feeling great. Even after the show when Fightful reached out, she said that she was okay.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t, and wasn’t cleared for further contact. As of Double or Nothing, there actually hadn’t been firm plans known for Thekla’s debut. However, with Jamie Hayter being on the shelf, this pushed up Thekla’s debut.
Hayter gained praise for working through a smoke and mirrors spot while no cleared to help Thekla’s debut get off the ground. The plan has always been for Hayter and Thekla to feud upon Hayter’s return.

I don't know, Queen and Thekla really seem to work well together and I think Tony sees that Aminata has the potential to be somebody special. I think we might see Hayter's return move slowly so she can get used to wrestling again.

I'm not sure how they're going to transition from one feud to another but I hope they do it well. Past AEW experience says they're likely just going to drop the Aminata feud without satisfaction.
