Rumor Roundup -- FTR/Hurt Syndicate, Jericho, CMLL, AEW Australia, Europe, Stu Grayson
Added 2025-08-22 17:31:16 +0000 UTCRumor Roundup from the wrestling world!
Fightful Select had reported the news months ago that FTR vs. Cope & Christian was the plan, and likely for the tag team titles towards All Out, but it was actually planned to start earlier. The match is scheduled as an elimination match, so to lose the titles, Hurt Syndicate members will still need to take a pin. MVP had made it clear to many people who the Hurt Syndicate preferred to lose to.
Observer also reported that people in AEW believe Chris Jericho isn't coming back. Those that we speak to in the company say that Jericho's creative is usually discussed directly with Tony Khan and most people wouldn't be in the know.
We have to reiterate -- Chris Jericho has not been discussed within creative of WWE, and many in the company have no clue if his contract is frozen or is ticking.
Observer also reported CMLL had a "getaway car" for MJF after his angle with Mistico. CMLL have been over the moon about the heat he's been getting there.
One of the rumors we've heard is that AEW in Australia could be multiple dates, along the east coast. This is just local speculation.
Additional Notes
We were told to expect Thunder Rosa back in Riot Cabaret soon after being pulled from their Friday show this week due to personal reasons.
We are told that several wrestlers from the School Of Irish Wrestling have been invited for extra work at tonight’s WWE SmackDown taping in Dublin.
The WildCard All Star tag match at RevPro Global Wars was said to have come together quite late.
PW Ceasefire Unauthorized Gate Notes
Multiple sources who took part in Thursday’s event felt it was the best show the promotion has run.
Prior to Unauthorized Gate, we are told the promotion had raised £6105.
We are told there were no injuries coming out of the event to talent, but PWC founder Gio Giorgio was said to be dealing with a limp.
One PWC source noted to Fightful Select that they thought that there was almost a riot after Tate Mayfairs entered to Swerve Strickland’s music. For those curious, when we asked if there was an attempt to book AEW talent on the show, the same source noted that they were lucky to get referee Stephon Smith on the show due to the Wednesday Dynamite tapings in Glasgow.
PWC announced that they will also be back in London for a show for All In Weekend 2026.
STU GRAYSON
Joel Pearl and Mystery Wrestling champion Stu Grayson met up at C4 Wrestling’s Fighting Back event to talk about the World’s Longest Match
- Grayson didn’t want Mystery Wrestling to have the World’s Longest Match, but Junior Benito kicked out of his finishing move with one second left to break the record, allowing Mystery to obtain the record
- Stu says he’s feeling “not bad” after the gruelling match, but glowingly talks about the shower he took when he got home, mentioning the stretching he did in the shower, and that he’s a body wash guy.
- Around 4am, Stu can be seen in the ring fixing the ring with a roll of duct tape after the canvas had ripped over hours of action. Despite being sleep deprived, he was angry at the huge hole in the ring, so he went to fix it despite being confronted by every single “stupid Mystery Wrestling” character. The following hours were a blur.
- Stu gives the story of Fighting Back, including the “biggest wrestling show in Ottawa possible” doing all sorts of events to fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society in Phrank Morin’s name.
- We will see Stu at Mystery Wrestling in Toronto on September 21st, as he is the champion and wants “no nonsense” at the event.

2025-08-22 21:00:35 +0000 UTCTony Khan does it to himself. He constantly pulls dozens and dozens of wrestlers off TV for months and months and months randomly for no reason and he forces fans to deal with speculation and rumors and he has done it for many years.
