There has been a hold up with constructing the WWE Summerslam set.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp mentioned there were a lot of travel delays and cancelations due to weather in the New York/New Jersey area. That has stretched to the construction of the Summerslam set as well. There were flood warnings in the early afternoon of July 31, and then by 2:15 PM ET, everyone was brought off of the field of MetLife, and a shelter was put in place.
We will let you know when set construction resumes. WWE sources said they had no concerns that the set would be completed in time.
Fightful has had looks at the set construction area, which has a shelter set where the ring area will be. The ringside area was not set up yet, but the stage and multi-tiered set were being put together.
We've included a picture of what is up so far. It is not intended for redistribution.
