TNA head talks TV deal, departures, cross promoting
Added 2025-07-17 17:00:08 +0000 UTCCarlos Silva provides some clarity on the future of TNA.
Sean Ross Sapp spoke with TNA head Carlos Silva ahead of this weekend's TNA Slammiversary show, and spoke about the venue saying with a venue like that there are big expectations for them to live up to.
Silva said that a TNA/Invicta FC cross promotion situation is still on the table and they're looking into the logistics of such. Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp will be at this weekend's Slammiversary show as well.
He said that departures aren't always popular, but feels like the TNA roster has rallied around some of the changes made. He also spoke about the WWE partnership and said with any cross promotional situation, egos have to be set aside to benefit both companies.
We spoke about the potential of a television deal, which Silva reiterated the company retained CAA to help negotiate. He said that while they love AXS TV, they're not a sports-centric broadcaster, and they're always looking to expand viewership in a product they're very confident in. He's not quite sure how TNA+ will factor in to things.
He did not give insight into the creation of the infamous TNA hat, but said when you're bald a hat is a good go-to. He originally wanted to have the only one, but when it became clear people wanted them, he had them produced.
Among other details he dropped was that Jazz has signed on to remain with the company backstage, and that TNA's Hall of Fame will continue with an even more focused vision, which we've reported int he last day or so. He also heavily hinted at AJ Styles appearing on the show.
