Added 2021-11-11 16:14:02 +0000 UTCHello I want to tell you some bad news. Currently all the freelacne artist in thailand are in a lot trouble due to new paypal law enforce by either our country or paypal.
I 'm still uncertain that I'll be able to recieve any payment from patreon after this change.
Due to some limitaion of new paypal Thai account rule.
Bank withdrawals
- Only businesses registered in Thailand can withdraw funds from PayPal Thailand accounts and withdrawals must be made to Thai bank accounts in THB. Linked Thai bank accounts must be registered to the same business as the PayPal business account. Withdrawals to U.S. bank accounts will not be available.
PayPal personal accounts will not be able to hold a balance or withdraw funds.
Payment Services
- Neither business nor personal accounts will be able to send or receive international friends & family payments.
- Business accounts will no longer be able to send or receive payments through the Payouts (Mass Pay) product.
- Domestic payments between two Thailand PayPal accounts can only be made in THB. International commercial payments can still be made in multiple currencies.
- PayPal payments funded with a debit card issued from a Thai bank cannot be used to make payments in Thailand domestically. There will be no new restrictions on PayPal payments funded with a credit card.
I don't know if patreon use Payouts (Mass Pay) product for payout or not.
I also require a business licence or indivual license to use new business account. It should be no problem if it's a indivual license. Still unclear which one acceptable due to they require bank account name to match with the license.
The change will start in february next years. I may pause the payment after january until I can be sure to be able recieve a patreon payment.
I'm in a lot of stress at the moment because I love this community and I love what we build together there still a lot of comic I want to draw. I don't want it to end like this. I'm sorry some the post may be delay because I can't concentrate in the last few day.

You can shake Patreon, maybe Patreon lawyers are already working on this problem and it will be resolved. Also, if you suddenly decide to open a legal entity, then perhaps you should publish comics in print, well, in small circulation?
