Tuning retractions on new printers is insanity.
Added 2020-01-10 04:11:44 +0000 UTCI have a custom printer built for me by RC CNC aka Barry Danks and I’ll have a stream on it once I upgrade the board and firmware but I wanted to chat about retractions.
Using some of the same settings in a stock marlin machine using different drivers and extruder I can produce such clean retractions. I mean super clean retractions. Using the Jessie 2.0 PLA not even some glitter filled fancy material.
Nothing fancy just 0.8mm retraction at 35mm/s and a little wipe and the right K value. I believe Linear Advance just works better in stock marlin. Who knows but I love these retractions.
