2024-07-16 01:23:30 +0000 UTCloved the episode! i think this was a super exciting combat encounter, especially since it's where we got to learn a little bit more about the monsters the pcs will be fighting and how their stat blocks might look (i loved the abilities we saw! enemies who inflict damage in different ways or create barriers for pcs in other ways are awesome to see!). learning about how the pcs each handle combat was great too; not only because we were able to start figuring out their class features and whatnot, but because their personalities shined too as well. i love the way the council (+ milo) never forgets that combat encounters can be used for storytelling just as much as more stereotypical roleplay encounters!

His stats were pretty improvised, but if its obvious and breaks immersion then ill keep it in mind 👍 edit: i do definitely fake dice sometimes as all DMs do LMAO i just dont remember doing that this session

Also the elf had a +3 to str +3 Prof bonus and grizzly just said it was a +5 , I get it but just don t say it if you are gonna fuge dice . New players or players not using free bonus action abilities [ like emboldening bond] while the dm has this type of monster is kinda wild ngl

All their classes honestly make way more sense and have some interesting implications for backstory stuff
