We ATTACHED the sandbox pose files for this update at the BOTTOM of the Post! (And a Yara read-along)
Hello, it’s again pium pium combat blah blah :D
Nooo, I tricked you, hahaha. It was Taco all along! I was acting exactly like Turtle, explaining combat and all that serious stuff …
But nope — today we’re gonna talk about something actually interesting :3
But before that—even though I’m just a humble taco—I’d like to introduce myself real quick.
Since I was a little snot, I've been into computers and digital creation — and Unreal Engine ended up being the glue that holds everything I've ever been interested in together.
I discovered some time ago that if I add nudity and/or adult content to a game that’s already good, it becomes even better! That blows F = M x A² out of the water (take that, Isaac!). So from that moment on, I set a crystal-clear objective: make games built specifically around adult content.
Life happened, and I ended up joining the amazing Big Bang Studio team, where I’m proudly in charge of our sandbox (and many other things) — my chance to execute my objective. Creativity, tech, and adult content fused into a beautiful growth engine for the massification of pleasure (insert final scene from the movie Perfume).
Since sandbox is designed to be expandable — and today, for the first time (again), we're adding new content through it — which is the perfect moment to show you the how to add animations & poses to ANBW. And it doesn’t even require you to download another 10Gb!
You’ve got the video at the top if you rather want to follow a video through the process, but here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to download and import animations. Some of the steps in the tutorial are a bit confusing and I plan to simplify the process a lot in the future!
0. Navigate to the bottom of any post containing pose update files (like this one) and download the file by pressing the download button. Our files will always be shared here on patreon as post attachments or as part of a new build download!
1. This is where you can find community created pose files!
Download the file by pressing the download button in the embedded message in our discord pose post.
Make sure to only ever download message.txt files from the submission channel that have a visible preview that you can expand and scroll through in discord itself!
2. After you’ve downloaded your new pose file, locate the file and open it with notepad or a similar text only application.
3. Select all file contents
4. After everything has been selected, copy it!
5. Double-click Melody.exe to open the game.
6. Once opened, and you can see the main menu, left-click on sandbox.
7. Once you’re in the open world, press the tab key in your keyboard to switch from gameplay mode to sandbox mode.
8. Left-click on the Scene Manager button.
9. A vertical menu will slide in from the left side of the screen. In that vertical menu, you need to left-click on the “New Scene” button.
10. Now you are in the scene placement mode, in this mode you have a scene attached to your cursor, so you need to move the cursor by moving the mouse, into any flat surface in the game world. After you found a flat surface you’re happy with, press left-click to place the scene.
11. After completing the scene placement, the vertical menu will show options for setting up your scene:
“None” button: That’s the button that opens the animation gallery from which you can Import, play, and export animations.
Add participants: By left-clicking on it, a menu from which you can select which characters will be added to the scene will show up on the right side next to the currently displayed menu, we call this character selection menu the “Character Hotbar”
Let’s dive-in into the character selection process so we have a well known character to play an example animation, left-click on the “Add Participant” button.
12. After the character hotbar is visible, you can select any character you’d like to add to the scene. In this occasion, I’m choosing the Player character for this, but feel free to choose any other character.
13. Now it’s time to import the animation! left-click on the “None” button.
14. In the Animation Gallery, you’ll see the “Import Animation” button, it’s the first round-cornered big button right below the “My Animations” header.
15. Now, a small window with the title “Import Anim” should have popped-up, this window has a text field that is darker. Inside, right-click on the text field and select paste.
16. This action will paste the animation info you copied in Step 5. of this tutorial. Now, just left-click on the accept button to import the animation.
17. A new menu will pop-up, you only care about this menu if you want to modify any animation meta-data, name, description, or tags. But you can either press cancel to keep the animation data, or accept if you modified any field.
18. And now your new pose file is ready to be used! We´re gonna share some simpler steps for this setup process in the future!
Look below for some more cool previews to keep your attention on this post!
Sandbox doesn’t just let us share new poses with you — it also lets you share your own poses with anyone by exporting them!
1. From the animation gallery, hover any animation, 3 buttons will appear inside the animation button, left-click on the “Export” button.
2. This will open a small window with the animation data in it, select all text and copy it.
3. That’s all, and to help everyone build the biggest and best pose library possible, I'd like to invite anyone who wants to share their creations to post them in the submissions channel on our discord server.
Sandbox is going to get a lot more stuff to play with — all designed to turn it into a powerful tool for expressing your spicy creativity in as many ways as possible. So in the next release, you can expect even more possibilities, plus some quality-of-life improvements!
Detailed individual finger control and pre-made hand poses.
Tongue control on/off, mouse-driven motion and auto motion.
The Character Art Team (Krisu and Andy) is adding a ton of amazing new outfits—and that means they’ll all be available in Sandbox. So I’m borrowing their content for my Sandbox post hehehe!
Here are some of the panties that are coming soon:
Witch's Underwear
System's Underwear
AOI's Swimsuit
Silica's Underwear
(Thank you, for the images krisu <3)
I have a clear objective for sandbox; I want it to be the best sex system ever made, I want sandbox to be perfect.
HI HELLTAKER HERE I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT TACO IS INSANE AND I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST IN TRYING TO DELIVER ON HIS FANTASIES. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE OVERSCOPE NATURE OF WHAT'S BELOW I HAVE HIM COLLARED IN MY BASEMENT AND AM IN FULL CONTROL! -Helltaker
Unreal Engine lets you dynamically tweak physics mechanisms, and we want to leverage those tweaks to deliver a completely smooth experience. We also need natural flesh collisions so that hitting soft surfaces doesn’t feel like you’re striking solid rock.
And speaking of natural collisions, soft-body physics have always been the dream feature. Imagine that touching Mel’s belly with the blue hand makes it feel soft, pinching stretches the skin, and boobs react realistically to gravity and contact.
I’m already halfway through researching how to inject modifiers dynamically as a sort of post-process when the engine updates skeletal-mesh vertex buffers. I’m convinced no one’s ever done this at runtime, and it would put ANBW at the very top in deformation tech.
Characters will be more expressive, the body needs to communicate feelings, to react to context in order to create a believable and fun to experiment with experience. We’re planning systems that make characters not only wriggle out of pleasure, but also auto place the hands or feet on key locations, caress erogenous body parts, adopt natural positions based on the overall pose.
Characters will be more expressive: their bodies need to communicate feelings and react to context to create a believable, fun-to-explore experience. We’re planning systems that not only make characters writhe in pleasure but also automatically place their hands or feet on key locations, caress erogenous zones, and adopt natural positions based on the overall pose.
Besides body-language–driven animations, there’s another narrative layer: skin appearance. Characters will sweat, their skin will flush red when you land repeated plaps, and fluids will slide across the skin as it gets wet.
We’re aiming for fluid dynamics that physically react to surfaces. We have many approaches to explore to find the solution that best meets our needs for ANBW, with the goal of delivering a result that’s not necessarily realistic, but, as always, fun to interact with.
A tabbed menu that lets the player switch modes, displaying only the UI elements and controls relevant to the selected mode. Inspired by most digital production software, it aims to make the creator clean, efficient, and even more fun to use.
To push the boundaries of what’s possible in Sandbox even further, we’ll add support for including objects in scenes. And with all the dynamic lighting power of Unreal Engine 5, there’s nothing stopping you from creating your own perfectly integrated environments for your scenes!
Thank you all for reading the post, but more importantly for supporting ANBW. We’re building very promising things thanks to all of you! ❤️
(I really love your work, Turtle. I hope you can forgive me for that joke earlier about combat. You know it was a joke, right? Right?? Turtle?? …Turtleeeee?)
