DITW 13-4: Coincidentia Oppositorum
Added 2024-02-02 23:00:04 +0000 UTCAmy’s dark specter had loomed large in this endeavor, and she’d known not to trust her, and hadn’t let her too close, but hearing Amy’s name right now in this room, naked and vulnerable with her husband, and with Devlin, naked and erect and confident, zapped her like a taser. She jumped at the sound of Amy’s name.
And then raged. Raged of course at the prospect Amy could be involved in any of this more than she’d expected, but raving with a fiery wrath with the hot-poker prompt that Amy had talked to Josh behind her back. There were no rules in this unscrupulous game, but Amy taunting Josh was too corrupt. So corrupt she chastised herself for not anticipating it.
Devlin chuckled and showed off an index of amused expressions, taking a step back and sitting in the chair Josh had been sitting in, dropping into it, heavy, like he was exhausted, his big cock wagging stiff and straight. And upright. So aroused by this bedevilment, by this display of total debauchery and perversity, it was still like a board.
She could see the whole thing now, played out behind her back by those two high school tormentors, Devlin and Amy; laying around and watching Cruel Intentions and scheming their own farce of aristocratic French parlor games of power; of manipulation and of sex, all done in frigid white Canadian suburbs. The idle hands of the bourgeoisie machinate the wickedest games.
She stilled herself, then said, “Amy did what?”
Josh gestured a hand toward Devlin, like presenting him as the devil they both knew. “He knows what I’m talking about. Look at him. I’m right, aren’t I?”
Devlin shrugged and feigned a look of incomprehension. She had spent so much time with Devlin that she read through that weak deception immediately. He practically told the truth with the smirk on his face. She struggled to find the right words to say as a surprise cataclysm of betrayal crashed around her. Amy.
A stark feeling of betrayal chilled her; she was in the cold, the others doing things behind her back, without her knowledge, altering her husband’s perception. After all the wrongs she had committed behind Josh’s back, it was astonishing that she could experience such a reciprocal emotion.
“Amy texted you,” she finally said, but Josh ignored her, keeping his gaze fixed on Devlin.
“It was her,” Josh said. “She was the one texting me.”
Devlin appeared amused, sneering and biting his lower lip, still presenting the facade that he didn’t know what Josh was talking about. He entertained them with his antics of his enormous cock, which now lifted and dropped, over and over like it was doing it on its own.
“It wasn’t just you,” Josh said. “It was Amy, too. Amy texted me, and—”
Kimmy interrupted him. “What did she tell you?”
This time when Josh looked at her, it frightened her. His eyes were alive with a baleful laser-beam focus. His awful gaze set upon her the mantle of responsibility. This was all her doing. Yes, it was Devlin, and yes, it was Amy, but it was her. She shook her head no.
He said, “They’re fucking with me. They’re fucking with you.”
“No one’s fucking with anybody, Josh.”
“He sent me pictures of you. That’s not fucking with me?”
She looked at Devlin, then back to Josh.
Josh continued, “And I went to his apartment like a lost puppy dog looking for an owner, someone who would have the kindness to tell him the truth. All I wanted to know was if it was real, that’s all.”
Devlin grunted, then said, “Then why did you show up wearing those sexy panties? I think you wanted a lot more than a picture.”
Josh looked over at Devlin and her eyes followed as well, both of them wondering how he would see humor in the moment. But Devlin was entertained by his own cock, watching it go up and down, looking bigger than ever, shining, glimmering, a cardinal flesh-obelisk, a singular symbol of the sacred dark and sexual; the wicked-man’s lure that had suckered them both, got them into his fishing basket where he could do what he wanted with them, lay them out in the sunshine and run his dirty blade up their defenseless bellies and bring out their squittering guts.
But that wasn’t the whole truth. It was her. She was the one who was in control. She was the one who’d always sought to preserve Josh. Sought to make him whole, to satisfy him. Sought to protect him.
She stared now at Josh’s profile and felt sympathy and regret. A yawning chasm of regret. There had been so many opportunities to steer away from this final conclusion, but she’d somehow entertained herself into thinking it was the only way out. Even today, out of the blue, Josh presenting sudden salvation to her, she’d thought it was a gift sent from heaven. A way out of this devil’s trap.
She said, “Amy told you to wear my underwear?”
Josh took a moment, still staring at Devlin, looking at Devlin’s dick moving all on its own, looking at the man’s face, then turning to her again. Some of the hatred had dissipated, but she still detected it. It still wounded her.
“She did. And when I showed up...” He shook his head like he didn’t want to continue.
She could only imagine what they’d done to him. The hoops they had made him jump through. All of it done behind her back. Amy, Josh, Devlin, moving their pieces around where she couldn’t see them. She bit her own lips to prevent a string of admonishments and accusations that would come easily off her tongue, and would erupt into a fiery tirade. She couldn’t. Not now. There was still so much more going on—too much to bask in a satisfying eruption.
All she could come up with was a simple bromide directed at Devlin: “You shouldn’t have done that.”
Devlin dropped a hand to cup his scrotum and handle his balls, his face turned up but his eyes looking down at his erect member dancing between his legs, flexing and going through a range of directions like a gear shift. He said, “I don’t even know . . . what you’re talking about.”Distracted, disinterested, preoccupied. He was still biting his lower lip, and the second before it began, she realized what was happening.
Devlin grunted and squeezed his balls. His stomach muscles flexed like shifting tectonic plates.
He cursed now, a string of half-assembled thoughts that shot blame at her and Josh, hissing and grunting, muttering, ruined it, all that build up, mm, fucking crazy.
And then, he was ejaculating. Shooting his voluminous load in front of a husband and wife whom he’d entangled in a poisonous web. And they watched. Husband and wife bore witness to this depraved man’s celebration. An autonomous reaction occurring between his legs; a man so aroused by his own devilry, so aroused by the suffering of his prey, that his body could not hold back the physical manifestation of his depraved sexual predation. She watched Devlin come, and she’d seen it before, but she worried for Josh. Josh should not have to see this despicable scene. Knowing Josh, he would be wounded by Devlin’s propulsion, wounded by Devlin’s magnificent display that arced two feet in the air, over and over, splats of pearly excitement falling like celebratory confetti. Devlin grunted and flexed, and more and more ropes spat as his cock nodded up and down, sending the semen in arcs. His head rocked back, then jutted forward, veins standing out in his neck and in his arms and shoulders. His chest reddened and his face reddened, and his cock bulged and flexed.
The way Josh watched made her want to cover his eyes.
They were both silent witnesses to Devlin’s return to consciousness after his vulgar display of incredible sexual power. He panted, brushed a hand through his hair, his sweaty muscle rippling in a lubricious sheen that aroused her still, despite the horror the man had created.
As he caught his breath, he still spoke, his voice spent, chuckling, saying, “Hoo, no hands, huh. You see that? Fucking incredible.”
Josh looked her way, waxen and lost, trying to cast blame on her, showing her his hurt face. Like it was she who’d brought him here and not the other way around. Josh covered his mouth with his hand, his eyes turning down.
“Ruined orgasm. But, wow, I can’t believe you guys did that. To me.”
She felt sickened by Devlin’s vulgarity, by his sole, selfish enjoyment of this cruel moment.
Josh stood up, clutching his pants, and it looked like he struggled to swallow. He went around the foot of the bed and headed to the bathroom. Devlin said, “Can you get me a towel, Josh?” Josh closed himself in the bathroom.
Devlin smiled at her. “He’s going to jerk off.” He admired his own muscular stomach, tracing a finger around the spattered pearly display.
In the bathroom, they heard the sound of the toilet seat lifted and hitting the tank. Then a hollow sound of unproductive retching. Josh was trying to throw up. And she hated that Josh had seen that. Hated that he’d been privy to Devlin’s sexuality, knowing it was something his wife had already shared behind his back. And had lied to him about it again and again. The whole idea of the sin as penitence evaporated like water sprinkled on a hot pan. They sat in relative silence, her in tortured guilt, Devlin catching his breath. Sitting naked and unashamed, like a spoiled kid with his mistreated toys scattered around him.
When she couldn’t take the silence anymore, she stood as well, slipping off the bed, Devlin’s eyes on her right away.
He said, “Don’t go to him. You’re not his mother.”
She said, “I’m getting my clothes.”
“Can someone just grab me a towel, please,” Devlin said, not to her, but to the room, like a man who thinks the world is out to get him.
Kimmy tacked down her clothing, put on her pants and zipped them up.
Devlin said, “What, this is over now?” She ignored him. He said, “You need a man, Kimmy. You can’t go on with him.”
She laughed, averting her eyes from the disgusting big dick, big muscle spectacle on the chair with the sunshine lighting him up. She shoved an arm into her shirt, going braless. “He’s my husband,” she said, her tone dry with realism. “What are you suggesting, you want to replace him? You want to marry me?”
“No. It was great the way it was—”
She dropped her arms, fists hitting her thighs. “Then why did you wreck it? Why do you think you know better than anyone else?” In the bathroom, the toilet flushed. She shook her head, buttoned her shirt. “I told you never to mess with him and you couldn’t help yourself. I’ve never seen you harder than today. Josh turns you on more than I do. Why don’t you have an affair with him?”
Devlin smiled to one side, concern on his face, but still no shame. No regret. “It’s not like that. Your dude’s into this, Kimmy.”
“Amy tell you that? She’s a psycho. You know that. You said it.”
Devlin leaned forward, his cock dropping between his legs and hanging down, going to one side to lean on his calf. “What about everything else we have together, Kimmy? What about Stone—”
The bathroom door clicked then opened and Josh came out, his face drawn and pale, hands in his pockets.
Devlin regarded him, turning up his palms, then reminding Josh: “Hey, Josh—towel?”
Josh drew his hand from his pocket, raised it toward Devlin, pulled back the hammer and fired.

As for Devlin, I stand by the Spanish proverb... "Mal bicho nunca muere."

2024-02-05 10:43:04 +0000 UTCThe next chapter in my estimation is going to be pivotal where the story goes as it reaches it's conclusion! Every day I am checking this site for KT updates! Also KT has some great stories I cant wait for her to pick back up like: Summer Swing, Landlord, Keely, Cayman, and Six Weeks in Winter as well as new stories!

2024-02-04 16:16:10 +0000 UTCI would agree it does feel like a last hurrah for Devlin, but that could take many formats. Certainly Kimmy, at least at this moment, is sending a clear signal that he's never getting between her legs again, or at least not any time soon. I contemplated this last night and I wonder if the chamber is empty? Josh doesn't strike me as someone familiar with firearms. I could easily see him forgetting to chamber a round and just pulling the hammer back due to how distraught and discombobulated he is over the occurrences of the last hour. Hammer falls, nothing happens, everyone holds their breath... then who knows after that. Devlin strikes me as the type to tuck his tail and run in any scenario where he doesn't get shot. Josh is supposed to just take it, not fight back. Hence the towel request. Any sort of dire threat to his well being or manhood would have him scrambling out the door ricky tick. So the question becomes, is Josh so mentally anguished that he does something irreversible or does he still have enough capacity to discern a proper plan that lets him have the goal he stated at the beginning of this. A return to some form of normalcy that doesn't involve "The Infantile Asshole". Only KT knows at this point!

2024-02-04 03:13:13 +0000 UTCI know once this series is finished KT is moving on to Summer Swing. But I can’t wait for her to resume Landlord. Johnny needs to get his dick out of that dick lock and finish the video game! And get Charlie away from Reza’s mitts🤣🤣 Justice for Johnny!

2024-02-04 03:09:38 +0000 UTCMaybe Kimmy takes the fall for Devlins murder showing her love and devotion to Josh. And to pay for her indiscretions. With Josh raising her child which turns out be his.
Andrew Mellein
2024-02-04 03:05:19 +0000 UTCWhat are the chances if this comes to pass that Kimmy would take the fall for Josh as a sign of regret for her actions. I hope Josh has a better well thought out plan then this. What happened to the P. I. ? What was Josh’s secret plan. Surely not watching Devlin fuck Kimmy in a hotel room and then blowing him away after that. But in reading the chapter it does draw attention to Devlin. Including having him comically masturbating with no hands. It does seem like Devlin last ride. It’s still possible to make the book erotic there still needs some resolution with Amy and Hyun!

2024-02-04 03:01:17 +0000 UTCIt’s a - They all lose and are miserable. - ending. I’m guessing it won’t go there though. Definitely have contradictory feelings about this.

2024-02-03 22:48:05 +0000 UTClol, well let’s suppose Devlin’s dead. That leaves Maggie, or better yet, Cole to represent Josh. So Cole screws Kimmy and….here we go again.

2024-02-03 22:18:04 +0000 UTCShe should know already, suspect. who he really is, he has sloughed her off twice and he hasn't taken her back yet, throughout penitenziagite set up she has, when unblindfolded, been aware of Josh even, at times, when Devlin was drowning her in frothy orgasm brain, she now knows their "relationship" is on a knife-edge. Maybe she broke him, unlike almost everyone else I have a always sustained the view that he is a stronger man than Devlin will ever be... Also I believe that he knows that killing is way too good for Stone and, is what we translate Kong Qui as delineating as a righteous man. He tries to behave as he believes he ought to...
Bill F Protagoras
2024-02-03 21:55:30 +0000 UTCI like this idea. Not sure on the viability of Kimmy saving him, but it would ring true to how conflicted Josh is and even more so Kimmy's almost obsessive devotion to Josh and their marriage, even while she does all sorts of awful shit behind his back that has lead to this point. He'd certainly never be able to leave her after that... which is exactly what Kimmy would want. Forever indebted to her.
L_S87
2024-02-03 21:47:48 +0000 UTCAgreed. Which is why I think we're a bit twisted up on this. Josh going a bit crazy and shooting Devlin given how emotionally distraught he's been over this, how much he's agonized over the possibilities... shooting Devlin would be quite plausible, even likely, given the scenario. Certainly has occurred any number of times in the real world. I had just hoped for something different, not so... final. Mostly because I was hoping there may be a way for Josh to pull a win, however small, from this. Even if its years of heartache followed by finding someone new. Or putting up with Kimmy's bullshit but finding a sliver of happiness in her obsession with keeping his heart. But this... if it's taken at face value... is no win for Josh. It's the ultimate loss, worse than anything else, no matter what he might think. And with how sorrowful this tail has already been...oof it could use a bit of sunshine.

2024-02-03 21:42:10 +0000 UTCCSH, et al, And would Maggie represent Josh or Devlin? KT would have many devlish opportunities for spicing up the otherwise dull procedural elements of the trial.

2024-02-03 21:38:39 +0000 UTCYeah, not where I want to see this go either.
CSH
2024-02-03 21:33:56 +0000 UTCYeah I agree with all you wrote and I expect that the ending isn’t what it seems. There’s something else there that will be revealed. It’s just that, to be honest, this late in the story I find it a bit manipulative to throw this at us if it’s not real. If you are going to do it, it should be real, and the consequences real. And if it is, then it consumes everything and all else in the story. There’s no erotic story after that. If it’s fake or misleading then my first impression, not my final opinion, but my first impression, is that I don’t like it. But I’m not exactly sure why I don’t like it.
CSH
2024-02-03 21:27:31 +0000 UTCI'm with you 100% on this one. There's all sorts of twisted emotions on the possibilities that last paragraph evokes. Hell, the whole chapter, but the implied consequences of that last sentence are just awful on so many levels, regardless of justification. Not the least of which it feels like Kimmy gets away scot free in that scenario as the only people truly punished are Josh and Devlin. Your other post about this fast forwarding to the baby already being born would ring true in that scenario. It's just not one I would look forward to at all. Would kind of ruin the series for me, so hope that isn't the case.
L_S87
2024-02-03 21:23:24 +0000 UTCYes, Kimmy was so traumatized by the miscarriage that she bottled up her pain and then it corrupted her soul. She couldn’t really go to Josh because she saw him as representative of all she had come to question as meaningful. Devlin taught her to externalize her grief in a socially rewarded but evil way, she just punished Josh for it.
CSH
2024-02-03 21:13:46 +0000 UTC@CSH see my note above where I covered the plausibility of potentially getting away with it. There's also no "likely", at minimum it would be reckless discharge of a firearm, maximum attempted murder, assuming he either missed or hit but didn't kill Devlin. The other option is obvious. Regardless, all felonies of varying degrees except the first, depending on locality. So it just becomes a question of whether what KT is implying is what's actually happening (never a given with her, especially in this series) or if something else is occurring. The firearm, if it is one, may not even be loaded. Just pull the trigger, scare the shit out of Devlin and tell him next time it WILL be loaded. Sort of a Raylan Givens "Next ones comin faster" approach. Devlin's too proud to go to the police, but he'd always remember that moment the prey became a predator.

2024-02-03 21:09:44 +0000 UTCYeah, she does love cliffhangers. They usually step back from the cliff. Look it’s not a big deal to me, just saying ….. it complicates everything tremendously to say the least. Not unrealistic of course, if anything it’s hyper realistic, but if there really was a gun fired, then it has inevitable consequences for the story. I’m not a fan of most of those consequences. But, it can be an effective ending for the saga.
CSH
2024-02-03 21:06:36 +0000 UTCRichard Gere did get away with it and made sure his wife knew.

2024-02-03 20:42:01 +0000 UTCMe either, I was just answering a question, and Rachel wasn't gonna have any blood on her hands she was just gonna rile up a bunch of fall guy usual suspects... it would probably work too. I'm just trying to keep people as fucked up as me. You know the saying misery loves company, which in my experience is bollox, well the angst of those sharing my suspense makes me realize I'm not just an idiot. As we both say if, KT can make it feasible she'll do it... How many times has KT ended an instalment by standing tippy-toed in her suit of lights giving an elegant barely perceptible curve to her body and let that enormous motherfucking toro de raza follow the sweep of her cape and pass right on by? She knows how fickle we all are... We need something to stretch out the rush some. Anyway, d'ya think Dickens wanted to kill Little Nell! Sometimes a character demands a plot change! That's what writers say any road...
Bill F Protagoras
2024-02-03 20:19:20 +0000 UTCThere are inevitable consequences to firing a weapon inside a posh hotel room in downtown Toronto. That act alone is likely a felony and one the hotel would almost certainly prosecute. The next chapter might actually be years later with Kimmy visiting Josh in prison.
CSH
2024-02-03 19:30:56 +0000 UTCThis chapter showed that any chance of threesome reunion of Amy, Devlin, and Kimmy was never going to happen. As for Kimmy and Josh that is the tragedy of it. Kimmy due to her selfishness paved the way for an outcome like this! With Josh most likely mentally and emotionally broken by Kimmy and Devlin and resorting to Devlin’s possible murder. I hope he has a more thought plan if it comes to this!
Andrew Mellein
2024-02-03 19:30:26 +0000 UTCWell, withholding judgement till we see where we are going with this. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it at this point. I’m actually wondering whether KT got so tired of these characters she decided to kill them all off. I’m only half joking with that.
CSH
2024-02-03 19:26:54 +0000 UTCYou shoot someone dead in posh hotel room in downtown Toronto and there’s no “getting away with it.” That would turn this into a science fiction story. And not a very good one.
CSH
2024-02-03 19:25:06 +0000 UTCI don’t think that would happen. If Josh does kill Devlin I’d like to think he would get away with it. I think this is Josh masterplan coming to fruition.

2024-02-03 19:13:54 +0000 UTCYeah, I think she was getting ready to leave with Josh, too. She knew it was over with Devlin. Before this if anything with a gun happened, I would have guessed it would have been Kimmy to pull the trigger. She’s raging inside about her downfall. The fact that she’s been feeling so powerful, fucking Devlin, bragging about it to Amy, making tons of money, dominating her husband with humiliation (and loving it), as well as, dropping a bone to Hyun, and getting that vulnerable soul to fall for her, too. This has to be an ultimate low for Kimmy, formerly a meek high school nerd, thinking she’s surpassed the “cool kids”, got them eating out of the palm of her hand. Meanwhile, they’re laughing at her and using her to humiliate their old target her poor husband. It probably also makes her mad, because no one should get to get off humiliating Josh but Kimmy. She feels she owns him. Remember, she’s his everything? But, as you said, Kimmy loves Josh. If anything really bad happens next, she’s going to help him save himself. I have no doubt about that, as long as it doesn’t harm her. First and foremost, Kimmy above all else, of course
Kat
2024-02-03 19:01:10 +0000 UTCKimmy should have told Josh what happened at Tiffany’s, BUT Josh should have first told her immediately what he went through and showed her the texts from Devlin. But, then we wouldn’t have this incredible story, right? I remember reading the first few chapters screaming at at Josh to just tell her what Devlin did. Going forward, after everything they’ve been through, how can they ever start again and be honest with each other? Their relationship was dysfunctional to start.

2024-02-03 17:59:04 +0000 UTCHer writing surpasses one genre. I love the twists and turns and drama, as well as, the humour, in all her stories. This story has occupied so much of my thoughts, trying to figure out how it’s going to end, while simultaneously not wanting it to end!

And then it’s on to Summer Swing, and my personal favorite Landlord. Johnny has got to get his cock out of that cock cage and finish that damn video game and get Charlie back from Reza! Devlin’s brother from another mother🤣🤣🤣

2024-02-03 17:57:45 +0000 UTCThanks! I agree, KT has a way of shaking things up in ways we couldn’t imagine. That’s why I love her stories. She’s very different than the other writers in her genre. I love the drama even more than the hot stuff. Lol I’ve spent hours in my mind trying to figure out how this masterpiece is going to end, while at the same time not wanting it to end.

2024-02-03 17:52:10 +0000 UTCIndeed! they don’t share their emotions like a normal married couple. When I reread book 1, Kimmy kept her secrets about Devlin at the party from Josh and in return Josh keeps his hidden kinks from Kimmy. No communication in this marriage🤣
Andrew Mellein
2024-02-03 17:47:07 +0000 UTCIndeed! Everything she writes I buy! No author in erotica (that I know of) has long series of books that fully flesh out the characters, situations, and world. You get to know her characters and dread the situations they sometimes find themselves in.
Andrew Mellein
2024-02-03 17:43:29 +0000 UTC"it was astonishing that she could experience such a reciprocal emotion." I just thought being given back the same disagreeable emotion she had inflicted on someone else, that's the context. But the greater truth is that Kimmy doesn't appear to open up and share her emotions with anyone, (unless orgasm can be called an emotion) which leads to her particularly objectifying Josh, as if she'd written a new insightful book called "The Male Eunuch" and in acknowledgements, thanked her faithful and attentive husband who has always been understanding (while she was doing research and doing what is unavoidable in order for her to bring home the bacon). I could be wrong. But isn't Kimmy hitching her wagon to Hyun a way to combine orgasm, sexual satisfaction and affection and caring that the Waters may have thwarted by prioritizing some of these things over the others...
Bill F Protagoras
2024-02-03 17:24:22 +0000 UTCDefinitely. She has formed a picture of what Josh is and has pretty much pigeon-holed him there as she’s gotten in deeper with Devlin. He’s the “heart” she’s the “spine”….he needs her to guide him, etc. Let’s see if Josh changes her perception of who her husband really is in the next chapters.

2024-02-03 16:22:11 +0000 UTCThroughout many of the books, prior to Devlin "wrecking" it, Kimmy enjoyed her affair. She seemed to love the money and power, just as much as the sex. And she seemed to enjoy being the alpha in her marriage, and slowly shaping Josh; "helping" him to evolve in ways that suited her designs.

2024-02-03 12:43:50 +0000 UTCYep, this had turned into a horror for both of them. Kimmy's thoughts and dialogue make it clear her "perfect" scenario would have been to continue playing the "game" with Josh, get the thrill of cheating on him, lying about it, having Devlin's big dick whenever she wants and yet still have her best friend and husband whenever she needs him. That was her slice of perfection, as fucked up and awful as it was. The only way it would get better is what she thought she was going to wrangle out of this penitence. Josh open and okay with her having sex with Devlin and being a part of it. Her controlling both of them and convincing Josh that sloppy seconds are what he craves. This ruined all of that. Amy and Devlin ruined all of it. The ecstacy from a few minutes ago is dead ashes on the grave of her imagined perfection. The gun issue aside, I think she was putting her clothes on because she knew Josh going to the bathroom and dry heaving signaled the end of this now irretrievable scenario. She may be mad at Josh, but she still loves him, horrible as that love can be sometimes. So she was planning on walking out that door with her husband. The ending she had planned all along to show Devlin what's most important. The in between stuff is where it all went wrong. KT sure knows how to throw a curveball. Never imagine this ending. Josh doing something to ruin Devlin like blackmail from the PI work, sure. This? Never.

2024-02-03 12:25:55 +0000 UTCLOL! That was actually my first thought, or hope. Maybe it was a metaphorical gun with his finger and he cooked his thumb back like a hammer. That feels a bit cheesy for the situation, though. Like it lacks the weight of the animosity he feels towards Devlin or the despair he has over what Kimmy has put him through. The sin may be the penitence, but I think Josh would have preferred if this had just been a game between he and Kimmy. But it wasn't and isn't and here we are. I guess we'll find out next chapter where that shot went. Maybe its an airsoft gun. That would be fitting. They look like the real thing, would freak Devlin out, and yet while not killing him, still, hurt like a son of a bitch. Regardless, I just hope this doesn't ruin the rest of Josh's life. He may have been weak, but he deserves better than this.

2024-02-03 12:20:51 +0000 UTCOnce again a good assessment. Though who knows what will happen... the best laid plan's of mortals, mice or folk, oft gang agley. I think things not turning out exactly how one expects is an almost sure bet. Especially when KT has the duty of snipping the thread..

It makes for a compelling denouement for "Rachel's Truth" and makes for a convincing argument that cheating Rachel owns the bullying biker gang leader rather than he her... that would be Rachel's crowning truth and Truth's dethronement.

2024-02-03 12:03:38 +0000 UTCI think Josh delivered a warning shot between Devlin's legs to make it clear that the high school bully playbook is out of date. Devlin should be squiring pop stars in luxury boxes rather than playing 'smell my finger' with Johnny rumble and pursuing an easy, in his mind at least, target in Josh and Kimmy. Devlin has never matured and is having a difficult time with his executive duties. Perhaps he hatched his humiliation scheme after a sharp reprimand from daddy for his literal and figurative 'fucking around'. What to do but recreate one of your high school triumphs to repair his self esteem. Devlin has looked small and a little like a doofus jumping around on the bed, whining about a towel and trying to celebrate his precious sexual prowess while ignoring the cold, sticky evidence of his failure. I thought Stone would come armed with audio recordings exposing Kimmy demeaning Josh, who knows this could still happen. I think, or more accurately hope that Josh can play one of his hole cards to insure that Devlin will have to cover up the gunshot.

2024-02-03 09:51:37 +0000 UTCL_S87, I totally agree with you, and loved Kimmy’s realization that they’ve been playing her all along, just like Josh. Kimmy thought she was the boss, better than Devlin, and stronger than Josh. Here she’s realizing that she was being used, just like her husband, by two people that she considers to be lower than her. She’s almost reliving her high school humiliation all over again. But in the next paragraph, she laments how Devlin wrecked their perfect affair, and that he’s more turned on by her husband than her. It was Devlin who said he would get Josh to beg Kimmy to watch him fuck her, and he got his way. Even more humiliating to her is that it appears that he had help from Kimmy’s high school bully, Amy. I also hope it doesn’t end with Josh going to jail. He’s suffered enough, and I’d like to see him get some comeuppance, even if it means have to hide a murder or something. I have no qualms with KT killing off Devlin, especially if it’s from a shot in the crotch. That would very poetic for him. These last few paragraphs read like a swan song for Devlin and his gargantuan dick. It seems so shocking, but maybe we’ll find out that Josh just fired a shot in Devlin’s direction, as a warning, and now he’s going to take control? We still haven’t heard about the private detective stuff he’d been asking Meyer about. I know it’s not KT’s usual style for the Joshes in her stories to end up “winners”, but this has been a different kind of book. There’s still a lot that can be done to make this have a satisfying, yet diabolical ending. Kimmy being forced to raise Devlin’s child with Hyun sounds awful for her, but I agree, she wouldn’t be able to last like this. I’m constantly amazed by the twists and turns this story has taken. This chapter was definitely worth the wait.

2024-02-03 04:24:11 +0000 UTC@Chris K, In most circumstances, yes. But given the premier nature of the location, I could see plausibility in saying the walls were insulated enough that anyone outside wouldn't attribute it to a gunshot. Plus, there's varying levels of sound depending on the firearm used. A .22 at close range would be plenty lethal, but not nearly so loud. And given this was concealed in his pocket, a small caliber projectile is very likely, though not guaranteed. Ultimately, we're all assuming it's a firearm, hell it could be something else. Unlikely, but possible. Hell, I'm okay with Josh staying with Kimmy at this point, Devlin, Hyun, pregnancy... all of it, as long as it keeps him out of jail.

2024-02-03 04:15:20 +0000 UTCReminds me of the film Unfaithful with Richard Gere killing the wife's lover! And then going to jail for it! Like you said L_S87 maybe Josh and Kimmy will dispose of the body! And then Josh has a plan where he will get away with it and pin it on Kimmy!

2024-02-03 03:59:14 +0000 UTCWow, KT. This was worth waiting a week for it. Amazing dialogue and emotions, and Kimmy... she simultaneously gets it, and yet clearly doesn't. She FINALLY see what she's put Josh through, finally understands now that its been done to her what it's like. And she's done. For now anyway. I think she's livid with Josh to for falling into this awful trap behind her back instead of letting her manage it like she asked, but maybe also understands just a wee bit that all her lies and machinations led Josh to a place where he had not trust and felt trapped into this being the only option for the truth. Ultimately, I hope the ending isn't what's implied, if only because Josh deserves better. Then again, I could see Kimmy helping him bury the body, too. She said it near the end. "He's my husband". Even after all this, she wants to stick with him. Maybe especially because of it. Certainly her deriding comment about marrying Devlin was so loaded with sarcasm and disbelief that she'd never go down that route. Poetic justice would be for Josh to have a taser and Devlin to get a prong in the junk. Unfortunately they don't have hammers, so we'll see. A warning shot between the legs should suffice as enough of a threat against Devlin's most prized possession to get him to back off.
L_S87
2024-02-03 03:52:11 +0000 UTCI feel like that anger is a mixture of things. Yes, the thought that Devlin may be more into tormenting Josh, and only potentially slept with her as a means to an end towards bullying Josh would be confounding, infuriating, but its also a reaction based on lack of control. Shes spent the entire last half of the prior book and all of this one thinking she was queen bitch, hot stuff, in control of both these men, and now... she realizes she's in control of very little. She feels used. A pawn. So she lashes out. Shes also probably miffed with Josh casting blame on her as well, maybe even the majority of it. She knows it's her fault, but she can't help but blame Josh for going through with Devlin and Amy's shenanigans behind her back and Devlin for wrecking the "perfect" affair. Ultimately I hope this is either a euphemism for Josh doing something else... or Josh putting a bullet between Devlin's legs and telling him the next one will be higher if he ever fucks Kimmy again. What I dont want is Josh in jail for the rest of his life. Kimmy might deserve the guilt, but Josh doesn't deserve the destruction that would cause to his already mangled life. Then again, if you wanted horror... well, Devlin dead and Josh incarcerated while Kimmy raises Devlin's little boy and living with Hyun who she sleeps with every night would be pretty horrific. Ultimately I would rather it not play out that way simply because Kimmy is too narcissistic and selfish to let something like this guilt her into feeling enough remorse to change. No, give it 6 months and she'd be right back to being her old self. Change for Kimmy only occurs with Josh's help, if he's willing to give it. Not that she deserves it.

2024-02-03 03:30:21 +0000 UTCYour right about Kimmy especially the line "Why did you wreck it” to Devlin. Kimmy is not sorry or feels remorse for what she did to Josh maybe she feels some guilt but overall she is a selfish person. As for Josh who knows? He does point a gun at Devlin and fires something at him in the last sentence! Devlin did bully and abuse him his whole life and then fucked his wife in a summer long affair and taunted him about it! A man is eventually going to snap. It's also the final book and in rereading the chapter it felt like Devlin's last hurrah. So whatever happens I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter!
Andrew Mellein
2024-02-03 03:30:08 +0000 UTCExcept the last sentence is Josh drawing the gun on Devlin and firing! I sure hope Devlin is dead! It felt like a final hurrah for Devlin with him masturbating by himself and chuckling to himself that he got the Waters! Just a character I cant stand! It would add to the tragedy of Josh going to jail for Kimmy's transgressions. KT is a master at plotting. Cant wait to read the next chapter!

2024-02-03 03:19:03 +0000 UTCI am good if Devlin got shot...he has done ..what A lot of men who cheats with another man wife have gotten .He is also a villain and nightmare from Josh's past so It would be a possibility..but I doubt Josh shot Devlin ...I think maybe more possible he shot himself....Mind twisted like a scene forn the movie O with Mekhi Pheffer and Julia styles based on Othello..This is a mind twister so many ways to go ..with it...KT is a master of the words all the angst !!!

2024-02-03 03:10:18 +0000 UTCDevlin is an ass…but he hasn’t done anything that deserves getting killed over. And unless Josh had a grand plan to frame Kimmy, or an even darker plot where they both are killed…he’s going to jail for a long time if he actually shot Devlin. So this would not be a satisfying ending for me, and doesn’t feel like a KT resolution. I still think it more likely the “gun” or whatever happened at the end was the beginning of Josh taking over control over the entire thing and unveiling his real plan for all this. Kimmy I do believe feels guilty for what she’s done but she is also incredibly (and somewhat obliviously) deluded and selfish. I think she both believes she was doing this all for Josh and at same time would have loved to go months (even years) sneaking around behind his back with Devlin and “teasing” him about it. She never wanted Josh to know what was going on, no matter what she tells him, or herself. She’s more hurt about being played by Devlin and Amy than she is hurt about what she did to Josh. Whatever these next few chapters hold, hard to picture this ending with Josh and Kimmy still together.

2024-02-03 02:05:34 +0000 UTCBut it would subvert expectations! If anyone deserved to die in the KT verse it’s Devlin! In reading the chapter it did feel like Devlins last performance. 2024-02-03 02:00:42 +0000 UTCWould this be the first time KT killed a character off? I wouldn’t mind If Devlin got his brains blown out or his dick blown off. KT did say this was a dark series. It would make sense if Devlin got whacked! Kimmy would lose the two men she was attracted to. I felt bad for Josh in this chapter, throwing up in the toilet he was totally used and disgusted. Josh probably lost it and thought there is nothing he could do but go postal on his bully! I still dont see a future sexual relationship with him and Kimmy (They haven’t had proper sex since he fled to Italy) I believe the baby could be Josh’s but Kimmy would raise it alone. As Josh would be in prison.

All of this was constructed by Devlin to get to Josh.

2024-02-03 01:28:47 +0000 UTCCan’t believe we end this with Josh in jail for life, so I’m guessing something else happened. How good a shot is Josh? Maybe he just missed? No matter what, ought to at least put the fear of God in old Devlin.

2024-02-03 00:58:04 +0000 UTC"Josh turns you on more than I do. Why don’t you have an affair with him?” Evil Kimmy is exposed as human, laughable... pathetically blindly jealous that Devlin might want Josh more than 'her.' What should be shock or drama her pettiness transforms into farce... as ridiculous as Devlin's Metronomic Dick as disappointing as his slow motion Sam Peckinpah premature ejaculation. Kimmy's own infantile contribution to a ruined bizarre dark climax were all apparent revelations are hustled out of the limelight. Not to mention the fact that Kimmy is overlooking the obvious... by seducing her her boss IS having an affair with Josh! Who perhaps has had just such a sickening realization!

Whatever happened, it was probably to draw attention to what the final part of his plan was for all this. Cause he had to come here with some idea. Maybe it was to shoot Devlin’s head (or monster cock) off, but that seems too much. Devlin dead, Josh in jail, Kimmy alone and pregnant, while Amy’s laughing behind the scenes? Nah, I’m gonna go with Devlin and Kimmy in one piece, but maybe Josh in control of things for once. But I’m probably wrong.
