Episode 7 - Progress Report #1

Hey everyone

It's been a little while! The public release for Episode 6 is out, so it's time to start looking forward to the next episode 🥳.

But first, welcome to all the many new people here! I am truly grateful for all of your support! And a big thanks to all the people who have been sticking around for a while too, of course ❤️! Releasing a new episode is always quite humbling, and to see so many people interested in my naughty little stories is just amazing 😊.

As many of you know, development of Episode 6 was plagued by some difficulties, both by technical troubles and personal health issues. And on top of that, the episode of course was huge in scope and complexity, and harbored its own technical challenges with the many background characters among other things. With the knowledge I have now, I would do a few things differently, but I don't regret spending a lot of time on that outlier of an episode. Nonetheless, I am glad to go back to a bit more straightforward episode with a bit less complexity and size 🙂. And also, to have more diverse locations and outfits again, and to spend time with some characters that have been missing for a while!

So, as I've told quite a few times during the last 12 months, Episode 7 and forward will be going back to approximately the scope of Episode 5 and before. I'm sure a lot of you enjoyed the many possibilities during the party, so you might feel a little let down that the coming episodes will progress with less variability and less little secrets to hunt down. I'm also sure that some of you are happy that you can play the next episodes without missing lots of little side paths and hidden things again 🙂. In whichever camp you are, I am pretty sure you are at least happy that the development time for Episode 7 will be a lot shorter again. Also: I do plan to keep at least some parts of coming episodes a bit more complex with choices and such, so we won't go back to totally railroaded storytelling either.

I have read many, many comments, reviews and feedback over the last couple weeks. I'm very happy to see that the episode was generally very well received. The biggest points of contention were A) the long development time, and B) the complexity of the episode making it hard to navigate without any guides or some such. I think I've already addressed point A enough by now; and I can understand point B as well, especially for the completionists among you. I am thinking of maybe putting together a guide for Episode 6 specifically, where you can see all the conditions for the naughty scenes, without spoiling the long-term consequences of any of the choices of course. I haven't made up my mind yet, but maybe I'll get to that at some point. Let me know if you'd want a walkthrough like that. It would just be a simple document, no in-game walkthrough or anything like that.

Now... onto Episode 7! And to the most asked question, as always: When will it come out? Well... I don't know yet 😬. After having to push back the release date multiple times for the last episode, I learned to not make any predictions this early on. I'll post weekly progress reports as usual, where you can see where I stand. So please, stop asking about a date and be patient please 😊. As mentioned above, I can at least promise you that it won't take another year.

I start talking a bit more about Episode 7 in next week's progress report, but just a quick overview where I'm at now: Storyboarding is finished, which means I have an outline of all coming scenes ready. Basically the who, what, when, where and how. I've also started actually writing the episode, which is about 50% done as of now. I haven't started with renders yet (that will come after writing is done).

There's also some bonus stuff coming for the upper tiers in the next couple weeks. One more special render will come out before the end of the month, and another poll for some smaller Ep. 7 in-game stuff too. I also plan to continue with the pin-up series at some point, probably at some point in December.
