Conan the Barbarian (2019) #25 - Full Script

Here it is - the final issue of Conan the Barbarian I wrote over at Marvel. Released in the thick of the pandemic, I was almost 100% certain that it would be my last chance to write the Cimmerian and, feeling awkward and wistful about how it all went down, I still tried to channel something mythic into the ending while struggling with my own disappointment.

Making that even harder, I'd originally planned to make the story here be a double-sized whammy, something appropriate for a 300th issue, and after issue #24 (Legacy #299) was already written and was being drawn I was told I didn't have 40 pages, or even a regular 20 page length to work with. The big finish had to fit in 12 pages. That was tough. If I'd known that ahead of time I would have paced things very differently between issue #24 and 25.

In any case, despite those struggles, I'm proud of the issue and felt that it closed the book on my time with such an incredible character and his world...How wrong I was. :)
