I am very sorry for the inactivity of the past month. If you are aware of the artist environment, you can get an idea of why that has been happening. However, I'm very ashamed I haven't uploaded a drawing in the whole month (being the first time this has happened).

Right now, I'm close to finishing a Tang Keke drawing, which I'll upload over the next week. If you are still here, seriously, thank you very much.

I'll do my best to make up for the recent inactivity and get us back to being as many as we used to be. It's a bit of a problem, because it feels like there are snipers around, but I also don't want to turn this into a space where I don't upload my art.

What I’m Drawing and Why It’s Slowed Down

Hi everyone, dear patrons! I hope you’re doing well 💛
I wanted to write a little update: to tell you what I’ve been working on, what’s been going on in my head, and where this page is heading.

Art updates

First of all, I’m sorry for the recent lack of drawings. I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately — last month I was away on a family trip for half the time, so I couldn’t draw as much as I wanted.

Right now, I’m working on a Momo Belia Deviluke piece (tentacles involved) and a drawing of Tang Keke.
I’m also behind on the February You Watanabe poll and the March Megumin poll (which I forgot to close... but Megumin was already winning by a lot on day 5).
I’ll try to catch up as soon as I can, thank you so much for your patience 💦

📉 About the Love Live dilemma

It’s no secret that Love Live has slowed down as a fandom. Amazing artists I looked up to — like Alp, Deadnooodles, Kitahara Tomoe, Sankuro — have already moved on.

I still love the franchise and its characters deeply, but it’s getting harder to grow by drawing only Love Live content. That’s why I’ve been trying to diversify.

Last time I tried something like this, I focused fully on Kana Arima from Oshi no Ko. I did 7 pieces in a row and the results were pretty decent — new people came in, and it felt like a little comeback. But even then, I quickly hit a wall: how far can you go with just one character?

So I started thinking about what to try next.

🔍 What’s next?

Two things came to mind: Blue Archive, and VTubers.

• Blue Archive has a style I really enjoy. I tried the game, and it’s not for me (not into guns or gacha), but the characters and their designs are incredibly appealing.

• VTubers are cool because they’re always reinventing themselves, and the fandom is super diverse. I could draw Gura one day, Korone the next. But I don’t really watch VTubers, so I don’t feel entirely connected.

There’s also that one big video game franchise that starts with a P and is all about training monsters...
If you know me, you know I’d love to focus just on the girls from that franchise. But yeah… suspended accounts, Patreon flags… it’s just not a realistic path, even if it’s really tempting.

Whatever happens, I’m not planning on quitting Love Live altogether.
I’m not leaving because I want to, I’m leaving because everyone else already did.
But you’ll still be able to suggest and vote on characters — so you’ll always have a voice in what I draw

Momo Velia Deviluke (PLEASE READ)

I love this character.
You’ve probably noticed by now, but my favorite characters are all pretty similar (Arima Kana, Nakasu Kasumi, Nakano Yotsuba, Momo Deviluke, etc). I really only have one type of girl.
I’ve wanted to draw her for a long, long time.
But I wanted to make a proper sex scene.

I’m running into a creative problem. The drawings that do best on social media—and the ones I see and think, “I should do something like this”—are usually simpler, like a girl on a white background.
But I’m worried that’s not “enough.”
I know that sex scenes are what you want to see the most, and I personally love the challenge since they’re more complex. But they take me forever. On average, 8 to 12 hours of creative work. And I end up burnt out. That’s why I’m often more inactive than I’d like.
Those of you who’ve worked with me on commissions know that if an idea doesn’t excite me enough, the process becomes tedious, and I don’t enjoy it.
So when I know I’m going to spend 12 hours on a single drawing, I take too long to settle on the idea. Sometimes days.
That’s also why some drawings clearly have more effort put into them than others.

For this one, it only took me 3 hours. I loved the result so much, and I felt so little burnout, that I even made secondary versions as a little nod to a (potential) future version.
I really like how it turned out, but at the same time, I wish I’d drawn more of this character. More poses, or maybe something more complex.
I tried doing this with Arima Kana before—lots of “simple” and quick drawings—but at the same time, I feel bad if one drawing takes me too long because there are so many characters I want to draw (or need to draw for the monthly polls).

I’m not sure what to do. Maybe the best thing would be to make more “simple” drawings for social media and, if I have time, upload a sex scene to Patreon here and there.

I’d really love to hear your thoughts, especially from those of you who’ve supported me month after month and stuck with me through this creative journey I started 4 years ago.

I have spent the last 2 weeks with a flu and my dog, who was with us for 14 years and was a member of the family, is no longer with us.
