She stood by the open window, the cool air brushing against her damp skin. Drops of water slid down her neck, disappearing beneath the collar of an oversized denim jacket — the only thing she’d bothered to put on after the shower. Her hair, still wet, clung to her cheeks and shoulders, glimmering in the fading light. She looked tired, but in that quiet, beautiful way — like someone who had fought too many small battles and finally allowed herself to breathe. The city outside moved on, but for a moment, she just stood there — barefoot in her sneakers, calm, and utterly real.
