BIGGEST HOGFISH EVER!!! Exploring the MOST BEAUTIFUL Sandy Beaches and BLUEST WATER!! [S2:E56]

Hello Everyone!  

This week we are just south of the Crooked Islands in between French Wells and Long Cay. We start off with some fishing and Sascha has a nice catch which we get to cook on the beach later that night. We give the boat some much needed TLC and take the dogs for a little exploration trip around the area. The beauty of the southern Bahama islands continues to amaze us!!

Hello Everyone!  

This week we are finally leaving Clarencetown, Long Island. It was a bittersweet moment, but it was time to move on. We left with Spear It Animal on what we thought was a good wind day, but ended up struggling to have good tacks to make it to Landrail Point in the Crooked Islands. We ended up motor sailing the last half, but we finally made it. We had some fun exploring a lighthouse and made some local friends who showed us a really good time on multiple occasions. Anywhere we go, we always find amazing people!!!

What does a Freediving Course consist of?!

Hello Everyone!  

So in this episode, the two of us and all our buddy boat friends take a Masters Freediving Course thanks to Steph which many of you may know as @freediversteph on Instagram. We had decided to postpone our trip to the Dominican Republic by a week to take the course and then all head that way together. This video is a bit of a fast forwarded overview of what we learned in the course and our accomplishments in each part of the course. If anyone has any questions about signing up for a Freediving Course or questions about the different parts of the course feel free to leave a comment and we'd be happy to get you some answers!!

This weeks Episode!

Hey Patrons!! So you have all probably noticed our lack of social media posts and delayed responses. We’ve gotten a bit behind on our editing, videos, pictures, social media in general. We’ve been busy trying to balance everything with working charters as well. So, we are not going to be posting a videos this week for you all. We will finally get our freediving course video out though so we can take you through a fast forwarded version of what it looks like. We did speed through all three levels to receive our masters Freediving certification, but that’s all based off of level requirements you need to hit. If anyone has any questions after feel free to ask!! As you all know Freediving and safety are something we have become very passionate about and want to share with everyone the importance of knowing what you’re doing before getting out there and diving. Will hopefully be getting this video out to you tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned!!

This week we have our final festivities in Clarencetown before heading off to Landrail Point in the Crooked Islands FINALLY. We have an amazing group of friends and we did something pretty cool, rafted up our five boats and had another super fun Floatilla Party! We do have a couple projects, per usual, to get done before we get to the fun stuff, but hey we're living our best lives so nothin to complain about here!! Hello Everyone!  Well, we thought we had spent our last week in Clarencetown, but as you will see, plans changed yet again. In this episode, which is a little longer than usual, we meet up with some new friends and get convinced to stay another week. The way we were convinced... a Masters Freediving Certification. Aside from that we also had some other exciting and crazy stuff happen! Definitely worth the watch!! Hope you all enjoy the fun filled episode!!!

So nice to meet you Shawn and your son Sam yesterday. Our long time patron Shawn McMillan was down in the Keys visiting and we did a little meet up. Thank you for the gifts as well! I'm sure the moonstone will give us luck on our voyages!!

There are so many places to visit, the fishing is AMAZING, and we have met so many amazing people. This week we have a little fun collecting coconuts, a little adventure to the shrimp cave, and some spear fishing to feed the crew!!

We are finally on our own!!! We sail from Georgetown, Bahamas to Long Island, Bahamas which took us a little longer than we'd planned trying to figure out sailing on our own, catching fish FINALLY, and making it to our destination with fish to feed our hungry friends. We learned a lot about ourselves and our sailing abilities without our dad there. We figured out he was doing a lot of adjusting during sails without us noticing so we felt very novice... We have come a VERY long way since this episode, so we hope you all enjoy how much we improve over the next few episodes!!

How we fixed our GLOW PLUGS and ENGINE SHUT OFF SWITCH on our 1987 MERCEDES Mani-Diesel Engine

Hello Everyone!  

This is an extended video of Sascha working on the Engine!!

In Season 2 Episode 46, we were having issues with our Glow Plugs and Fuel Shut off switch. We have an old 1987 72hp Mercedes Mani-Diesel engine and they had both all of a sudden stopped working. We began by investigating the power connection and wires running from the control panel to the engine. We discovered that when Nathalie had replaced one of our Engine Mounts, some of the wires had disconnected. This was due to corrosion on the engine harness due to a leak from our raw water pump. To fix this we bypassed the engine harness and then the next step was to check the relays to see if they were still working. Unfortunately, we forgot to film the process of using ohm's to test the relay, which thanks to Raf on Spear It Animal, we were able to discover that both our relays had gone bad for both the Glow Plugs and Fuel Shut Off Switch. This video goes over the steps we used and how we fixed our problems. If you have any tips or suggestions we are always all ears!! We are always learning :)

Hello Everyone!  We have a lot of fun in this episode, we're back in Staniel Cay as you know from last weeks episode. We met a new friend, Kolbi, who came to hangout on the boats with us for a few days while she was visiting Staniel Cay. We started off spearfishing, Sascha got a Yellowfin Grouper and a very large Triggerfish, 0.2 lbs below the women's world record on a Pole Spear. We had a super yummy taco night and had a fun girls day the next day which celebrated taking underwater pictures in the grotto. Then it was time to make our way back to Georgetown!

This week we sail into Staniel Cay to pick up some friends and head up to the Exumas Marine Park, specifically Cambridge Cay. We went to Compass Cay as well to check out the world famous nurse sharks who LOVE their belly rubs. We sailed up there with S/V Spear It Animal and M/V Knot a Clue to have a few days of fun. Don't miss out on our Three Stooges remake which involved a 4 ft post, a beach, and some silly sailors! This week we are back in Little Farmer Cay with our friends Knot a Clue, Spear It Animal, and Free Spear It. Sascha’s friend from college is still visiting and we wanted to give her the chance to shoot her first fish on a pole spear.
