Hey everyone. Sam here from team Doctor Mike. We were nominated for Best Influencer by the Webby's this year. We can't believe it. Voting is open to the public, and despite the STIFF competition, we are neck and neck at the moment for first place. The total number of votes on these things tends to be lower than you'd think, so literally every vote helps. It's these types of awards that help give our brand credibility in the media industry so people pay attention to our messages about debunking medical misinformation, so that makes a difference!

August 2021 Charity Receipt

Thanks to everyone who voted and nominated charities for our August proceeds. Doctors Without Borders was the winner for their efforts in providing assistance to those affected by the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Afghanistan. Livestream postponed because of snow

Today’s charity live stream will unfortunately need to be postponed because NYC is under a state of emergency due to a large blizzard. Our team can’t get together so we’ll unfortunately have to push it back. I’ll be posting an update on a new day and time once we know what the weather is going to look like, but it will likely be Tuesday or Friday. And just like that, we've come to a close on our first (partial) year as a Patreon community. We've got approximately $5,000 more to give away to the charity or cause of your choosing for the month of December before we put this year in the books. $5393.41 to the White Ribbon Alliance

Thank you all for your careful deliberation on where we should donate our proceeds for the month of November! As we do every month, 100% of our Patreon proceeds were given to the destination as voted on by YOU (with the exception of what Patreon takes out for their discounted service fee). We'll convene for another charity live stream around the New Year (TBD) to decide where our December proceeds go. Stay happy and healthy!

Thanks to everyone who voted to donate our September funds to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Here's the receipt proving 100% of the proceeds from our Patreon in September (minus what Patreon takes in service fees) was donated. August Donation Receipts

Sorry for the long delay on this, Residents! Since we are relatively new to Patreon it took a while for our first payments to come through. This morning I was officially able to donate the money from our first month (August 2020)! I'm waiting for those donations to be approved and then I'll be able to donate to NAMI for September.

Charity Live Stream - This Monday - September 28th 12 Noon ET

Title says it all, our next live stream is this coming Monday at 12 noon ET. Bear and I (and maybe even Sam and Dan) will be live here on Patreon  for about half an hour chatting with those who can join us :). We'll be sharing the 3 charities up for consideration as we give away about $5000 to whomever you choose. This month we'll be selecting charities nominated by YOU, so drop a comment down below or head to  the #charity channel on our Resident-only discord to suggest a charity/cause/individual who is deserving of 100% of our Patreon proceeds. Our first donation stream!

Hello, Residents! Our first month is nearly complete, having reached 530 Patrons and $4695 as of right now, with a couple more days to go! We’ve got a plan for how to vote/distribute the money for this first month:

This coming Monday, August 31st, Mike will host a LIVE STREAM on our Patreon page at 12 noon eastern time. Mike will be there live with a chat feature so he can interact with all of you. Bear may also show up! 

Mike will announce the 4 charities that are being nominated. This month, Mike, Dan, and Sam will each nominate a charity, and the fourth will be selected from the Charity channel on our Residents-only Discord. We will then post a poll on Patreon where all Residents can give their vote on where to give the money.

This poll will be open for 48 hours, closing Wednesday September 2nd at 12:30 ET. Most votes wins.

The live stream will be quickly processed and then live on our Patreon page to be watched later for those who couldn’t join live.

In the future, the pool of charities to be voted on will adjust to provide as diverse an opportunity as possible for different charities/approaches to be heard. We will do this every month, so there will always be new selection methods and destinations!

As August is our first month doing this, please bear with any technical glitches. A year from now this will be a well oiled machine, but this month we have to iron our the kinks and get the workflow perfect. We appreciate your patience.
