[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

This seventh week of the story is finally over! In addition to completing the last day, I've also added two little scenes that I'd left hanging from the previous days.

This seventh week contains a total of 25226 lines of code, 4024 images and 178 animations.

I've also updated the photo gallery (the one accessible during the game, allowing you to review images from your photo shoots), adding photos from the latest shootings, as well as a few small features to give this screen a little more interest.

Yesterday I was able to start working on writing the epilogue, a part I've been planning for a long time, so I've already written quite a few things in the form of notes on this one. Now I've just got to put them together and think about the order in which I'll talk about each character, then do the renders and animations that go with that.

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

After a (very) long and busy sixth day (5280 lines of code, 777 images and 39 animations), I'm finally working on the last day of the episode (and the game)! I've finished the writing part (although I still have a few things to polish up) and I've already produced a few renders and animations

So we're fast approaching the end, even if once this day is over I'll still have to do the epilogue, update the galleries and some of the renders/animations from the first two weeks, which have become really "old" compared to what follows. I can't give a precise date for the release of the episode yet, especially as I can hardly estimate how long the epilogue will take me, but I'm hoping for a July release if all goes well, or August at the latest. I'll give you a more precise date as soon as I can!

As for the game, the renders and animations from day 6 of the episode are finished (As usual, I've added a few things that occurred to me along the way ^^.), and I've just finished integrating them into the script. I still have to add sounds and music and do the usual checks, so there's still a bit of work to do to finish off this last big day!

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

The development of the sixth day of the episode is progressing well! A significant portion of the renders and animations are complete. This day contains 4 h-scenes (some with variations), concerning Abby, Iris, Emilie, Megan and Jenna. There's still a bit of work to do on the last two, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! If all goes well, this day should be over by next weekend.

The day begins with our MC joining his friends on the beach, all already wide awake chatting. If Abby is in your game and you had sex with her previously, this will be an opportunity to enjoy a new h-scene with her.

A long bikini photo shoot will follow with all the girls, then various small scenes on the beach. After that, you will be entitled to a new h-scene, with Iris if you are in a relationship with her, otherwise with Emilie.

After an important dialogue with Natacha, then Emilie, you will be treated to an (animated) dance scene with Natacha, Cassandra, Emilie, Amanda, Jenna, Lea and even Abby. A new h-scenes will follow with Emilie and optionally Megan and Nicolas depending on your interactions with these two...

Finally, the evening will end with a scene with Natacha, Cassandra and Jenna where you will tell each other scary stories... so scary that Jenna will ask you to spend the night with her to reassure her (If you are in a relationship of course ...)

As I said previously, a day just as busy as the previous one, or even more so, with cute scenes, others very hot and one that moves the story forward. So a full day! I myself am quite happy to have progressed so quickly on this one!

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day 5 finally over. The coding took me longer than expected, and I had to redo a few animations containing glitches I hadn't seen beforehand, but now everything's in order!

I was also able to start writing Day 6, the last big chunk of the episode, but it's still at a very early stage as I write these lines.

At present, the episode includes 2960 new images, 121 new animations and 18199 new lines of code. No doubt it will easily surpass the figures for the previous episode, which was already quite voluminous, not to mention the rework of content from the first two weeks.

As for the game, the renders and animations for Day 5 are finished (739 images and 30 animations). So I've started coding, although there's still a bit of work to do. This day should be finished by the middle of next week, and I'll be able to tackle the penultimate day, which promises to be just as full of content!

Day five is still in production. I've made good progress with the renders and animations (533 images and 15 animations), but there's still more to do, followed by coding...

As I said in my previous progress update, on this day and the next one you'll be spending time with your entire harem (or Emilie and a few friends if you're not following a harem route) at the beach. This first part will include events with Emilie, Lea, Jenna, Cassandra, Megan (and Nicolas), as well as a surprise guest brought by Emilie. So plenty of action with all those waifus, and don't worry, if you're loyal to Emilie you'll just spend more time with her ;).

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

The fourth day of the patch is over! It took me a little longer than expected, mainly because I made a few small dialogue additions whose inspiration came to me while I was finalizing this day.

This one is mainly dedicated to Amanda. You'll first go to the mall with her and Emilie to choose a beach outfit for them. There will also be something else to buy there, depending on your previous choices. In some cases, you may even have several choices. This will be something very important for the end of the game, but I'll leave it to you to find out for yourself when the time comes!

This will be followed by a visit to Amanda's home for a photo shoot, which will end with an h-scene if you're in a relationship with her. Note that for those of you following her porn route, you'll have the choice of getting into a more serious relationship with her at that point...

What's more, while you're chatting with her and Emilie, she'll receive one or two surprise visits, depending on the route you're following. Finally, the day will end with a short bonus h-scene with Emilie...

At present, this patch adds some 13,000 lines of code, 2,200 images and 91 animations... and there's still a lot more to come.

I've also finished planning the order of events for the last three days of the patch and started writing the 5th day. These last three days are linked, because as you may have guessed from the poll two weeks ago, they'll take place at the beach. You'll be going there with Emilie and your friends/harem. The last three days will be packed with dialogue, funny/cute scenes and, of course, h-scenes!

About the game, the fourth day of the episode isn't over yet. I still have a few renders and one animation to do (I'm trying to add some freshness to the h-scenes with custom animations, which are taking longer to set up, but it's for the best), in addition to coding, adding sounds and checking everything... All this should be finished by the middle of the week if there are no problems. Concerning last week's poll I was quite surprised by the result. I expected the votes to be more evenly distributed, but more than half of you voted for the blue version of Emilie's bikini, obviously it's a color you like! So this is the one that will have the chance to hug Emilie's graceful figure.

[Poll] An outfit for Emilie...

The writing of the fourth day is over, and I've already started some renders and animations of it, however I need your opinion for something crucial... Choosing the best possible bikini for Emilie! Indeed, on this fourth day, you'll be going with her to the mall to buy her one for the events that will follow, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get the community involved (and also because I'm unable to decide as everything fits her... Emilie, you're hard to work with).

So I've made you a small selection of 6 colors on a model that I think suits her perfectly, it's up to you to tell me which one you prefer! In the event of a tie, I'll decide between the winners. You have until Wednesday to decide!

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

First of all, I'd like to thank all those who are still present on this page. I don't know if it's the announcement of the end of the game or if it's because the previous episode was less enjoyed than the others, but many have left since the release of the last episode. So thank you to those who are still here to support the development of this project, without you I don't know if I'd have had the motivation to get this far! 

Third day of the episode almost over! Renderings and animations are done, as well as a good deal of coding. I still have the sound/music part to do, as well as the usual checks. 

The day begins with the episode's MMORPG event,  in which you'll play with Emilie, Jenna and Abby (if they aren't lost in your save), as well as Charlotte, the girl who accompanied you to the goblin cave last time. You'll even have the chance to get to know her better if you like... There will be only one skippable battle in this game session, so for those who don't like it, don't worry!

You'll then receive a visit from Natacha, during which you'll organize the big event at the end of the episode, bringing together your harem (if you have one) and your friends, but I'll talk about that later...

Finally, the day (or rather the night) will end with the episode's second sharing event. This one's a bit special, since you won't be present at Emilie's side, but you'll receive plenty of photos to keep you up to date with her nocturnal activity...  As always, this scene is only available if you're in the sharing route and is optional. Warning: this scene concerns certain male characters you met in the previous episode, and will not appear in your game if you didn't make the choices linked to sharing at that time...

Alongside this, I'm also starting to prepare a few things for my next project, including scribbling a few notes on the script when inspiration strikes and polishing up the design of some of the characters. I'll tell you more about it when it's more concrete, before the release of the final AlwaysFan episode.

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

The second day of the patch is over! It took me a little longer than expected to finalize, but I'm happy with the result. I wanted to make sure that everyone got the same amount of content on this day, whether you're on the harem route (with Iris) or doing a playthrough with just Emilie, and I'm pleased with the result. 

This day adds 3095 lines of code, 526 images and 28 new animations to the game!

I've also already started work on writing the dialogues for the third day. This will contain the last MMORPG event of AlwaysFan, featuring the summer event teased in the previous patch by Jenna. 

Next Sunday, I'll be posting new sneak peeks of the second day and perhaps the third, depending on how it progresses.

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey! 

The second day of the episode is already well underway! The writing is done and I've already been able to make several renders. I've also tweaked a few things on the first day (added a mini scene for each path and made a few visual corrections). 

The day will start with a photoshoot of Emilie and her two beautiful Chinese dresses that you bought together the week before. 

Once that's done, you and Emilie will make a trip to the Hospital at Iris's request. This part will vary from playtrough to playtrough depending on which girls you've lost in your save. After that, you'll take Iris home and get some news about the last antagonist in the story, Robert Zuchergerk...

And finally, the day will end with a bit of action, with Emilie but also Iris depending on your relationship with her...

[1.0] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day one of the last episode... not over yet. It's a day with two long events (one concerning the sharing route or a date with Emilie) that required me to render a lot more than I'd imagined. I'm currently at 745 images for this day and I've still got to do the final scene of the day (which is common to both routes) which should add another fifty or so renderings. In comparison, the convention day in the previous patch had 646 images. On top of that, I was not spared from technical problems, notably due to the latest Windows update... Knowing that I still have to do the coding and the sounds/music, it will take me another week to completely get through this day

Spoiler part: On this day, if you're on the sharing route and you went to the sex club in week five, Emilie will be taking part in a competition as teased in the previous episode. She'll be meeting up with some old acquaintances but you won't just be an observer during this event, as the choices you make will influence the outcome.

As for the others, you'll have a date with Emilie at the amusement park, a 'friends' date if she's not your girlfriend. It'll be a series of cute little scenes and conversations with Emilie. You can kiss her, or even ask her to become your girlfriend here if you haven't already done so... The whole thing ends with a new repeatable shower scene (If you kissed Emilie during the outing).

Finally, you'll end the day in front of the TV, where Natacha (and Iris if you haven't lost her) will be taking part in a TV talkshow to talk about the 'Marcus Biggerman' case. The presence or absence of Iris will have an influence on this scene.

Next week I'll be posting the first sneak peeks for Hyper Fans, with images from this first day.

For this month, I wanted to make sure you got your presents under the tree, so I've tasked the Mrs. Claus of AlwaysFan to deliver them to you in person. Don't leave them outside too long, it's really cold! Emilie found herself accidentally wrapped and delivered with these, so take care of her!

Speaking of Emilie, I've finished the renderings of the non-sharing part of the first day, so now I can get on with the sharing part. The date with Emilie took me longer than expected because I ended up adding quite a few lines of dialogue and a little extra scene that I hadn't planned on, you can't control inspiration and it came to me while I was doing the renders. (Surely Emilie's cute face inspired me to do more cute little scenes).

[Poll] Achievement system

Hey hey!

I'm slowly getting back to work on AlwaysFan after the short respite I had during the release period for the last episode. I've already finished writing the first day of the final episode, which will have two very different sequences, one exclusive to the sharing route (and requiring you to have visited a very special place earlier in the game) and for the others, a date with Emilie.

But if I do a poll today, it has nothing to do with that. I've been thinking about integrating an achievement system into the game for some time now. Given that the game has a lot of optional scenes and as is often the case, making a choice doesn't deprive you of a scene but allows you to see something different, it's impossible to see everything in a single game. So I think an achievement system would be relevant, to find out which scenes you've missed without the spoilers that watching in the gallery implies. There would also be achievements more aimed at collectors that don't unlock any particular h-scene, like making all the good/bad choices with Emilie over the first two days or getting the maximum score in the Biggerman Quiz without using the ingame's help.

I'm thinking of putting a checkbox next to "See achievements related to sharing", so that these aren't displayed for those who don't follow this route. Mind you, most of these achievements will require a new game to unlock (but this will be an opportunity to discover the big visual improvements from the start of the game).

So I'd like to know whether you think this is relevant, and if so, would you like some tips on how to unlock these achievements? In other words, would you like to have a small question mark next to the description, telling you what relationships/choices to make to obtain this achievement.

Almost there! Last "Progress Update"before the release of the episode! I've finished updating the gallery and doing the final tests. Now I just have to fix a few renders with visual issues. 

As planned, the episode should be out from the 24th for the hyper fans, I'll post the changelog as well as all the dates tomorrow. In the meantime I'm going to try and improve a few renders/animations from the first week of the game, especially the scene with Emilie in the kitchen on day 4. I would have liked to improve more of the old renders but I'm running out of time and I really want to get the episode out for Christmas/New Year, so the rest will be for the final episode.

About the game, the last day is over. I was a bit worried that it would be too short for those who don't do harem routes, but I'm pretty happy with the result and the way I was able to set things up. As I said earlier, it's going to be a day with very little story and lots of h-scenes. I'll now be able to start updating the galleries, which is probably the least exciting thing for me to do, but I have to get on with it at some point :).

[0.6] Progress Update

Hey hey!

The home stretch! The seventh and final day of the update is already well underway. The writing is almost finished and I've already had time to do quite a few renders and animations.

It's going to be a fairly light day in terms of story, with a big sex compilation with Emilie, a potential visit from Jenna if you haven't lost her in your story and also a moment with Lea if you're in a relationship with her.

Once this day is over, I'll have to add a few new scene options to spend the night with Emilie, update the galleries, the relationships screen, do the last checks and if possible a visual update for days 4 and 5 (or more if I have time). So there's still some work to be done before the update is released, but we're nearing the end.

If all goes well, the episode should be out on 24 December for hyper fans, 28 December for super fans and 31 December for the public version!

[0.6] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day six of the patch is currently in production. The writing is done and I've already made progress with the renders. All that's left for me to do is the big event of the day, whose renderings and animations will keep me busy until the middle of next week.

This day concerns Emilie, Megan and our friend Nicolas. It will start with a visit to our favorite clothing store, where Emilie will get three new outfits, one of which will be used immediately for a photoshoot. Then, on Saturday evening, we're off to a nightclub where we'll meet up with Megan (and Nicolas, depending on the choices made). The end of the evening is up to you: you can either end it with just Emilie, or head over to Megan's to finish it all off together...  

The build and installation of my new computer went well. I had the opportunity to do a few tests at the beginning of the week and I can now create more demanding scenes without lags or crashes, and the time needed to render is much reduced, all of which will help me a lot in the future!

As for the game, Day 5 is finally over, with almost 400 renders and 49 animations! So, depending on the route chosen, it can be a fairly short day, or a very long one.

I'm writing this post in advance, as I should normally have received the components for my new PC by the time you read this, and I'm probably in the process of assembling it and doawnloading/reinstalling my softwares, so keep your fingers crossed for me that everything goes smoothly :).

[0.6] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day five of the game... not over yet. It's a day with lots of different animations, so it's taking a long time to encode, depending solely on the speed of my PC. By the way, as I mentioned a fortnight ago, I've ordered the parts for my new computer, which should arrive next week if all goes well. It'll probably take me an afternoon or two to reinstall/transfer everything I need for AlwaysFan, but once that's done I think I'll save an enormous amount of time on the rendering/animation part of the game, which has really become very laborious on my current PC.

The fifth day will begin with a special photo shoot with several variations. Those of you on the sharing route will be able to allow Emilie to do a shoot with a male model. If you refuse, or if you're not on the sharing route, you'll have the choice of shooting with Emilie as a duo (or not).

Then, in the second half of the day, those who have unlocked Cassandra's sharing route will have a special event with her and Emilie in an establishment dedicated to pleasure! I won't say any more about it, and I'll leave it as a surprise. For the others, it'll be a quiet evening at home with Emilie (Note that depending on how Cassandra's shoot with Declan went (shooting with the sports car), you may also have access to a bonus scene...).

[0.6] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day four of this episode is almost over! The writing, rendering and animations are done, I still have to integrate these images/animations into the code and also add sound effects and music, as well as checking that everything works as planned.

This fourth day includes 527 images and 30 animations!

For those following the sharing route, the day will start with an escort contract that will last until the morning when Emilie's endurance will be put to the test.

During the day, you'll do a photoshoot with two of us secondary characters with a special relationship. You've already had a glimpse of their faces in the very first days of the game, although their design has evolved slightly since then. The shoot can end with an h-scene if you wish, and with different outcomes depending on your choices, which could even allow you to add these ladies to your harem at the end of the game...

Finally, you'll receive a visit from Natacha at the end of the afternoon, following on from the events of the convention the day before. Several different scenarios can take place here, including an h-scene with her and Emilie. You can also unlock a secret ending, but this requires you to have made a few specific choices. Here's a hint: it involves not being attached to Emilie... 

Also, it's quite possible that I'll change my setup in the next few weeks. My current PC is starting to show signs of weakness after 8 years of loyal service without replacing a single component. For the most curious among you, the machine I'm currently using to develop AlwaysFan is equipped with an i5-6600k (slightly overclocked) and a 970 gtx and 16GB of ram (there were 8GB at the start of the project, which I had to increase straight away because it was simply impossible to do big scenes with several characters in HS2 with so little ram, and even now with 16GB, I got some crashes due to overloaded memory on certain greedy scenes). I don't yet know when will happen this setup change (I need to compare prices and think about my needs for the project.), but I'm bound to lose one or two days' work as a result, which I hope to regain later with better rendering speed and fewer lags/crashes in scenes with many characters. So a good part of the money raised since the beginning of this page will go there and be useful for the project.

As for the game, I've finished writing for Day 4, as well as the renders and animations for the sharing scene, which is the transition between Day 3 and Day 4. It's a scene with slightly more polished animations, so I hope you'll like it if you're following this route! So this weekend I'll be starting on the renders and animations for day 4, which involves Emilie and Natacha, as well as two new side characters whose faces you've been able to catch a glimpse of during the first week of play. I'll tell you more in my next progress update!

[0.6] Progress Update

Hey hey!

Day three of the patch finally over! This thirty-eighth day has given me a lot of trouble coding to make the evidence-seeking part look like what I had in mind, but it's done and I'm happy with the result!

it's a day that counts double, with no less than 643 renders and an extra 100 images for the clue-seeking part. On the animation side, things were a little more modest, as it was mainly a day of storytelling. I invite you to read my Progress Update from last week if you want to know more.

As I said in my previous post, I've still got to do the sharing scene, but I'll do that the next day as it lasts until the early hours of the morning...
