Ay yo, everyone!
With two new videos out, and a few in the pipeline, it feels great to be back! Surprised at the positive reception too. Genuinely figured YouTube woulda killed my channel after so long. Glad to see that wasn’t the case.
I wanted to give you guys a feel for how I’m trying to evolve this Patreon from its previous incarnation so you’re all kept in the loop.
Back in the day, Patrons would be charged per “big upload” instead of on a monthly basis. I felt this was fairest path to take because I didn’t want people to feel ripped off if a month with no uploads went by.
This worked in theory, but I’m very conscious about charging people money for anything. Sometimes I’d spend a long time on something and arbitrarily decide to not charge for it cuz it felt like viewers wouldn’t consider it a “big enough upload,” or because I didn’t want to charge people twice in one month if I happened to post a lot.
I’m gonna be moving to a more traditional monthly model, while reducing the prices for the higher tiers to compensate for the shift. I feel like this’ll give the channel structure, feel more predictable, and incentivize more involvement with patreon as a whole. It also keeps me accountable. Can’t vanish for months at time in good conscience if I’ve got active supporters to attend to.
This change won’t go into effect until December 31st, so don’t worry! Nobody’s getting charged out of nowhere come Novembers end. Wanted to make sure I telegraphed that change well in advance.
So, what’s being funded by the Patreon if it’s not just the BIG occasional video? The answer is ultimately STILL those big videos. They take time. Planning. Coordination. But in the mean time, they’ll go towards -
No, not percs. I’ll be posting behind the scenes stuff here like old script drafts of videos you’ve already seen (and some you haven’t) to give a glimpse into how the script changes from written to final edit (I’m a nerd and think that stuff is fun.) Videos will go live early on Patreon before they go live on YouTube, as well. More perks will come as I flesh this out, but I wanna kickstart this bitch nice and simple.

Hello, fellers and fellettes! Long time, no see.
I've been gone for a while, primarily because I sort of accidentally fell deeply into the podcasting space. I started The Snark Tank with Tom Sweeny and SomeBlackGuy and I also started co-hosting Sacred Symbols with Colin and Dustin. I then fell into Constellation, Summon Sign, and other shows. Hours upon hours of content, several times a week, for years. Truthfully, and regrettably, it left me with very little time to dedicate to YouTube videos.
Despite this, I always felt the need to make proper dedicated videos. It's what got me to the point of being able to start podcasting in the first place. Podcasts are fun to do and I'm happy I'm able to provide that for an audience, but me? I don't even personally listen to podcasts. I used to make content for me and hope that other people liked it. Now, I feel like I primarily make content for others while my personal passion projects wither and die on the vine. That's doable for a while, especially when it's logically reinforced by the inherent reliability of the podcasting space over YouTube's broken notification system. But after a while, especially when it's all you do, it begins to feel suffocating.
So here, mere weeks before my 31st birthday, I've finally had enough of not making what I want to make. Hopefully I can jump start this page again and reignite that fun that I've spent the last half decade dedicating to everyone else's projects but mine.
I'm posting here to ping those of you still here so you're not taken by surprise and to give you a chance to jump ship if you so choose. If you choose to stay though, I appreciate you!
I've tweaked the Tiers a little (though more tweaks will come) and updated some other things. There will be another update later this week detailing future plans and sharing some sneak peeks. In the mean time, leave some questions here! I'm planning on doing a little Q&A exclusively for Patreon.

WELCOME BACK
Hey, guys! It's been at least a few days since I updated here ... Oh, it's been longer? Huh. Guess we got some catch up to do!
I recently uploaded a teaser video for an episode of Weird Wide Web I'll be releasing in mid June. I don't normally do "trailers" for videos, but since I've been AWOL for a while, the last episode in this series was ages ago, and the video itself is actually a lot of fun; I felt it was warranted this time.
This was also just a general way for me to step back into the channel officially without doing the awkward "Where I've Been" video that I'm sure would be boring to many of you (and me.)
If you're an avid viewer, then you know where I've been. I did a little boxing, sure, but I've also been podcasting multiple times a week over at The Snark Tank and Last Stand Media for the last like ... 4 years. Time flies.
While podcasting is fun, comparably easy, and way more reliable than YouTube is at the moment; I can't shake this need to make ridiculous videos that have more effort put into them than they realistically need. It's what I value personally and it's what I have the most fun doing and honestly, I've missed it. I'm happy to say that I'm finally at a point in my life where I feel like I can actually manage my time effectively to do it all.
HOW THINGS WILL WORK
This Patreon is meant to support the big projects that come from the Channel. Ray Gun Recaps, Weird Wide Webs, and any project that I consider less frequent and more "high effort." This means highly edited videos that are thoroughly written and display more effort than your usual "talk to the camera" affair.
You won't find updates here about Livestreams, Glasses Offs, Tier Lists or anything else like that. I won't clog your feeds with those. That's for the barren landscape of Twitter. Those videos will still come to the channel of course because it keeps it healthy algorithmically and I still like to make that stuff, but that's not what I consider the Passion Projects that Patreon funding necessitates.
BEHIND THE SCENES
I've always struggled with balancing BTS content because I want to give value, but I don't want to spoil things. The best way I've decided to go about it is to post behind the scenes stuff about these projects the day after a project goes live.
For example, I have a lot to show you about the next Weird Wide Web that you might find interesting (scripts, handwritten notes, idea boards, etc) but I don't want them to contribute to a misleading narrative of what the project is and ultimately end in disappointment when the version of the video doesn't match the one you've built in your head. Or, alternatively, I don't want to spoil the most fun things in the video that would obviously be the most fun things to share in a BTS format.
THE DISCORD and WHAT IT'S FOR
I love talking to and meeting fans, especially in person. Absolutely, come say hi if you see me. Discord however, is not my strong suit. I have this almost Reverse Millennial problem where I'm very comfortable face to face and wildly uncomfortable in a voice call or anything similar.
All tiers get you access to the CRG Discord which I'm sure is in a state of hysterical disarray at this point, but I don't want to sell it as a way for you to speak with me regularly. I barely have the time and energy to give myself to my friends, family and the people closest to me. My focus is on making cool stuff that you guys can gather and talk about, maybe make friends, etc.
I will try to make the occasional appearance and I'll certainly be active on the days a big project goes live, but it's more of a community building tool for viewers than a direct line to me. Want to make that clear.

Hey, everyone! I'm working on a bunch of things at the moment including BUT NOT FUCKING LIMITED TO new videos, a possible standup set, some brand new music for spotify, and some new merch with a brand new merch store.
Teespring doesn't offer the quality I think is necessary at this stage so I'm retiring a lot of the designs currently on the Teespring store in the coming months. As a thank you for supporting this channel for as long as you all have, I've decided to just give you guys the raw files I used for the shirt designs so you can print them on whatever you want without having to shell over a bunch of cash to me or Teespring. This is especially good for those of you not in the United States who usually have to spend an ABSURD amount of money to get YouTuber merchandise.
Timeframe?
Not sure when the new merch store will open as it very much still is a work in progress, but when the new storefront officially launches, all those designs will also be available as raw files here free for patrons as they appear on the store.
These aren't all of the original designs (many are gone due to my dead computer back in February) but I'll post the missing ones here as I come across them. I'm sure they're in emails or something.

Took a long ass time! This has been through so many iterations it's absurd. At first it was going to be a standard Social Justice The Musical. Then a broader fully animated music video. As much as I wanted a fully animated video to help push this "series" forward, the lyrics were far too time sensitive to let the song sit for the seven months it would have taken to get the cartoon finished. So, I took things into my own hands and tried to make as entertaining a music video as I could. Hope you enjoy it.
This "Musical" is about YouTube, it's algorithm, and the shitty people who take advantage of it. Whether it's a right leaning anonymous cartoon character with meme glasses pumping out videos about Brie Larson to make a quick buck, or left leaning clickbait merchants like Becca Lewis drawing unfounded connections between centrists and alt-righters with her Alternative Influence Report. Drama channels, Late Night Jimmies and everything in between.
Below are two versions of the song. The first being the final one that ended up being the template for the video and the second being one with an alternative final verse about article 13 to make the video a bit more timely. That one didn't fit with the overall message though so, I'll leave it here for you guys as a what if. There's also an isolated vocal track if you wanted to remix my trash voice with other beats or whatever. lol idk.

How's it goin', guys! It's been quite a while since I posted anything and that's for a lot of reasons. At the beginning of June I visited Portland, Oregon to scout out some possible locations for a project I can't yet talk about (as well as spend some quality time with the girlfriend.) Then I went to E3 and VidCon for similar reasons. Unfortunately, shortly after VidCon, some family and personal matters made themselves very evident. (This is the main reason why the livestream didn't happen.)
Fortunately, one of the projects I've been working on has already launched and I can finally talk about it. I started a podcast with my friend Colin Moriarty. Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast launched on July 3rd and will have weekly episodes for the foreseeable future. The 500K Special (which will be very late) is underway. I'm using proper 4K equipment and flying across the country to do cool shit with people you know and love. (ahem, PAX West ahem.) Scheduling this kind of thing takes time but I'm pretty excited about it.
I know that normal videos have slowed to near non-existence and I apologize for that. I'm one person and I get overwhelmed sometimes. I want to make the best content I can for you guys. June was a pretty ridiculous month for me and I didn't want to rush videos out to you guys if I couldn't put the proper time into it. Fortunately, I'm working on way more videos again (4 written, one recorded) and you can find the sneak peak of that next video above. (or below, Patreon's layout is AIDS.)
