Next month our three-month anthro futa special will be complete, and I couldn't be happier with the results: this was a unique opportunity to share new characters and new ideas with you, and with the world. =^___^= I think I like the idea of having anthro futa paintings every now and then… Which brings me to a very particular poll for us to vote. How do you guys feel about characters with multiple boobs?
How long has it been? Oh, my… Almost one year now! This painting was done between June and July of 2020, a Horse Tier commission that Kyropracter envisioned, based on characters and locations of the game Breath of Fire II. Although our backgrounds are different (I had a GameBoy back in the day, but I’ve never played BoF II, for instance), ever since our first e-mails I knew right away that we’d work well together. I guess we are both looking for similar things in a painting, like sublime moments, storytelling, or enticing interactions, a certain gesture, a particular kiss.
Back in June, when I started sketching this painting, I didn’t know that we’d work together again in the months that followed, and boy, I must say that it has been a wonderful journey, one that we’ll share with the world soon, starting with this delicious encounter between Katt, a feline beauty so entertained with her lover's body and jizz, and Nina, who embraces her hungry friend with her wings. =^___^=

Up until now I have been sketching and drawing anthro characters of a very particular mythical type, like mermaids, cecaeliae or centaurs. They are half human, half beast. It is always “half”, instead of “halfway”, which reminds me of the spectrum aspect of the anthro genre. Some anthro characters are almost humans, while others are very feral. It’s easier said than done, in my experience. For those of you who watched live action versions of classical animations, like the Lion King, or The Jungle Book, some might have felt that some animals lack something distinctly human beneath the realistic, bestial version of their animated counterparts. It’s hard to blame the artists for that. It is a challenge, making it work, and a good one.
I’ve always thought that the answer might lie in the eyes. To me, that’s the one place where we can’t be realistic while painting anthro characters, or else we lose all the range of human emotions that the eyes (and eyebrows, and eyelids) are able to express. I tried to put this idea to the test here in this painting. This is my first attempt at a realistic version of a rather feral horse futa anthro. Her hair may be from the 70’s while her headpiece comes straight from the 1920’s, but I couldn’t find a better way to convey this concept. Also, I tried not to rely on smooth, dry brushes that usually create beautiful fur effects. I wanted oily highlights and honest, expressive brush strokes. Did it work? Maybe. We had our three special Tallulah months, soon we will be in our second anthro futa month, and I am already wondering what we will see after that. In a way, I would really like to go back to the OCs that we know and love, back to the farm and to their life in Rio, so I’m following that gut feeling for at least one month, but I want to hear you guys on how long this stay should be.
Gesture was one of the hardest concepts I dealt with (it’s my painting teacher’s fault… I’ve already told him that, LOL). Sometimes the body has a curve, and that creates a sense of rhythm and cohesion. Gesture is best studied with the entire figure, from head to toes, as all the body’s masses can be seen, from the larger masses (chest, abdomen, hips) to smaller ones (hands, fingers). Ballerinas are masters of gesture: even their pinkies follow the lines and curves made by their spines. Maybe this is why so many draftsmen like to sketch ballerinas (I tried to do this once at a local ballet school, but then everyone there thought I was a perv… Which is accurate, btw, but that’s beside the point, LOL). Charcoal is usually a go to medium to capture gestures, and it also allows us to create nice textures that flow naturally from it.
In today’s study I wanted to capture a very organic gesture of Epona seconds after climaxing. Oh happy day.

Some of you watched the streaming of the first half of this painting’s process. Streaming is a weird thing, I think. In a way, it is like a painting demonstration, in which the painter tries to do in two or three hours what usually takes eight or nine (usually divided in smaller sessions, done on different days). It is a tour de force, much like the challenge of an alla prima (finishing a painting in one sit), and the results are a bit different than the usual process. Richard Schmid (one of my spiritual masters when it comes to painting. If you don’t know him, Google him!) said once that even bold brush strokes on the canvas are only apparently bold. They too must be calculated with care, and slowly rendered. I can’t help but to think that painting is a slow process, slower than most people would be willing to accept nowadays, an old language that comes from pre-industrial times. It’s not like music when it comes to speed, there’s no such thing as virtuosity. All this to say that I spent some extra hours with our centaur girl before posting her morning ride, which made my mind wonder and ask: “how do centaurs sleep?”, “how flexible is that spine where human and horse meet anyway?”, and other silly questions =^____^=

We also had a poll in which centaurs won as our favorite mythical anthro, so I thought "why not combine both?" This seemed to be a nice way to introduce this new theme to our gallery. I have another centaur painting in the oven, a horse anthro (she was the winner as our favorite anthro futa type, wasn't she?), and also... Well... I won't give you any more spoilers. #wink #wink #staytuned

I was probably at a museum, maybe at an art gallery, the first time I saw a painting with thick impastos on it. Don't get me wrong, you can find thick paint anywhere, really, even in the most unremarkable paintings. To some extent, I think it's a crutch that many painters use for no good reason, so I always avoided it. When a master uses it, it can even look spooky, off-putting (hey, Rembrandt!), but making a painting a bit more tangible with it, this sort of lesser effect I was aiming at, can look interesting as well. This time I intentionally sacrificed a bit of drawing precision in order to explore this effect. Also, I was missing this couple. =^____^=
Oh! I almost forgot! Since we have many poll results that are still being translated to upcoming paintings, I'll probably delay our next poll to a couple of weeks from now. Lots of horses, centaurs and anthro friends on the canvas, folks! =^___^=

Hey, guys! After talking to Luna's creator, I felt that some adjustments needed to be made: her balls are larger (they touch the ground!), and I made a slight anatomical mistake by misplacing her canine's urethra. #mybad I kept both versions here, though =^___^=
Every inch of her body was still shivering. The half human, half octopod woman in front of her concealed her eight arms behind her upper body. She was on her elbows now.
“My name is Karlie... And yes, I am from the islands, but probably not those that you are thinking of. I’m from the south seas.”
“Karlie?”, Tallulah asked. Her voice was still raspy, and her tongue, salty. She tried to get on her feet, but she could not. She could still see the tip of one of Karlie’s arms moving around though, making a tiny spiral right above the wet sand. “I’m Tallulah. I work as a marine biologist. Can you breathe normally here? I mean, most octopods can’t.”
She smiled. “I’m not an octopus, Tallulah, the marine biologist. I have lungs”, said Karlie, blowing a thin stream of air on Tallulah’s face. “But I can also do the same underwater”.
Tallulah smiled back. “Amazing…”
“When I met you, down there, I thought you could too. I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine. I’m fine now. I was careless”, answered Tallulah,
“You should always dive with a partner, you know, you folk from the continent. Knowing about the Sea has nothing to do with staying alive down there. Promise you’ll take care next time?”, she asked, raising her pinky. Tallulah laughed, then she did the same and said that it was a promise, of course. When they shook them, Karlie kissed Tallulah on the mouth.
“You’re full of surprises, Karlie from the southern islands…”, Tallulah answered, holding her friend with both arms, and giving her a passionate kiss. She could also feel Karlie’s hand waiting for dolphin dick to come out. “And you have a nice tongue too.”
Karlie bit her lip slightly. “That’s not my tongue”.

Besides, we could argue that she represents the (mythical) anthro futa category very well, which can work as a nice transition to the three delightful anthro futa months that await us, so why not release the kraken? As some of you noticed from our last streaming sessions, I’ve been painting and sketching equine anthros, some of them from the mythical subcategory (e.g., centaurs!), so I’m very excited with the possibilities that lie ahead.

In our recent poll You've got time (part 2), mythical creatures made it to the top three most voted category. I admit I wasn't expecting this result (although I was expecting horses to be at the top of the list), so I got curious about which one of those you like the most. In principle, this poll isn't a part of our three months of anthro illustrations, but it sure will guide me towards future illustrations, polls, sketches and ideas.
The list below is far from being exhaustive, but I tried to pick the ones that were either widely known, visually interesting, or both. It's a mix bag, so if you'd like me to consider a type of creature that wasn't listed, please let me know in the comments!

“Here, you need to hydrate”, said the voice next to her. “You swallowed some water, but you’ll be fine. Even dolphins need to come to the surface every few minutes.”
Tallulah lifted her chin and had a sip of water. Her swimsuit was by her side, with her diving mask on top of it. She didn’t find her oxygen tank. By her side was this other woman, leaning back on her elbows. “Did you just save me?”
“I guess you could say that, yes. You don’t remember a thing, do you? You were lucid, I mean, down there, before you blacked out”, the stranger chuckled.
She did not remember a thing, except for flashes of a weird dream. “You have the strangest accent. Are you from the islands?”
“Wait!”, the stranger said, as Tallulah finally looked at all the tentacle-like arms, or legs, that she had below her womb. They were red, wet, and long, and they had more suckers than she could count. When they moved, Tallulah gasped.
“What is it that you… What are you?!”

I am thrilled we reached 2021 in such a good shape! As our gallery welcomes new, exciting themes, we’ve also started this year with a cozy place to meet and exchange ideas, our very own happy farm at Discord! Thank you all so much for all the awesome feedback and suggestions that can only make this place more and more interesting. =^____^=
Last month I asked you about anthro futas, and I got some precious feedback on what you guys would like to see after our Tallulah series. Now it's time for me to ask you about which anthro species/group you'd like to see more.
How is it going to work? The winner species/group of this poll will appear in at least one painting during our anthro futa series.
Why at least one? Well, because I've already started sketching, and I want to show you some characters that might not be that popular.
How did you do it, Q? I used the results from a recent poll on Species Popularity, discarded entries that were not a particular species or group (e.g., "Other", "Hybrid") and turned them into as many options as I could.
Can I pick more than one? Yes, you can, but there will be only one winner, so choose wisely. =^____^=
What if there's a tie? Well, I hope it's not the case, but I can randomly pick the winner, or pick the one I like the best, or ask a random stranger at the market. It's a mystery, really. UwU
I can't believe it's December already! Whew! When I think about it, it seems like February was last week. This was an atypical year for everyone, to say the least. We had to learn how to be more creative, careful, balanced, and resilient, all at once. I'm very optimistic about what 2021 will bring, though, including here in our gallery!
I've been setting up a Discord server for us, so that we'll have a cozy meeting place. This is all very new to me, but I hope it'll make our experience even better. It's going to be a public server, with patron-only channels. You'll receive an invitation in a couple of weeks. Neat, huh? :)
This is our last painting of 2020, our second extra painting (fourth, if we consider Sammy's variations separately), and a sneak peek at what awaits us in 2021 ;) . I'm super happy with what we've achieved so far. We've welcomed many new patrons this year, and I hope each one of you found the type of content that you were looking for. Also, the extra revenue that comes from your pledges allow me to invest in learning more, acquiring better hardware, software, and the list goes on. My current display monitor, chair, and pen tablet came directly from them, as well as my NMA (New Masters Academy) subscription. I've been watching many classes there, from anatomy classes to gesture drawing, painting techniques, composition, color theory, you name it. I've also acquired a license to use Corel Painter, which is very unique digital painting software that seems perfect for our purposes. It's growing on me each day.
I'm very thankful, and proud, of what we've achieved, I really am. I'll always keep investing on becoming the best artist I can possibly be. You deserve no less than that. UwU Thank you so much for your love and support!

Six o’clock at the city’s aquarium. Tallulah still had some oxygen in her tank when she saw her. She was about to leave the aquarium, but she waited some minutes there. There was a young woman outside, in her twenties, that had her eyes fixed on two small catsharks swimming next to her. She would talk to them, sometimes smile to them, and Tallulah could see she had two pairs of upper canines. Maybe there were more of them, but she simply could not see them. The woman was wearing a turtleneck shirt, but Tallulah saw the slits.
“Gills”, she said, underwater.
Who was she? Tallulah asked herself that a few times. She looked like a surf instructor, by her frizzy hair, and her tan. She had strong, firm legs, and she had some tattoos hidden beneath her sleeves. I want to meet her, Tallulah thought, and she did not pay attention to the noticeable bulge between her legs, pressing against the diving suit. She decided to leave the water. Did anyone see it? Did she see it? Tallulah had no oxygen left.
Tallulah looked everywhere for the woman as she walked her way out of the building but could not find her. Iris had just texted her. She was outside, and it was raining cats and dogs, but Tallulah didn’t want to leave yet.
“Karen!” shouted the guy at the café a couple of times. “Karen! One small mocha!”
“Did you call me Karen? Is this a joke, boy? What are you insinuating?” Answered a raspy voice, and from her heavy accent she was from Rio. Tallulah looked at the woman, and there she was, yelling. A princess.
“You’re the only person left here ma’am. The aquarium will close in ten minutes. My coworker took your order and I just made you the mocha you asked…”
“Then tell your stupid coworker to shove this mocha up his…!”
“Heeey!”, said Tallulah, “I don’t mean to intrude, but this young man here is just the messenger. Perhaps the other guy was having a bad day and got your name all wrong.”
“I think he’s a bit hard of hearing, ma’am”, said Lucas, holding a paper towel.
“Lucas! Let me talk to her.”
“Mild hearing loss...”, said the young man to himself, now fixing his own apron.
“I thought he was… Geez…”, she said, breathing deeply. As she took her hand to her chest, Tallulah saw her webbed fingers. Enhanced swimmer hands.
“Mystery solved”, said Tallulah, smiling. “Since you’re definitely not Karen, what’s your name, hon?”
“Samantha”, she said. “My name is Samantha.” Tallulah felt it was the first time they were looking at each other’s eyes.
“Nice to meet you, Samantha. I’m Tallulah. I’m a biologist here at the aquarium. We still have five minutes. Would like me to show you some new sharks at the hospital tank? They’re my favorite.”
“Mine too!” she said, and smiled for a second, showing her sharp teeth.
“You don’t say… You don’t say.”

Samantha (or Sammy) is an OC created by my good friend Zero, who kindly let me share this illustration in our gallery. She has minor, sexy shark-like features (i.e., gills, webbed fingers, sharp teeth, a bioluminescent pattern,...), specifically inspired by the American Pocket Shark, and a unique futa anatomy, since she's able to retract her cock completely, concealing it behind a small slit that's just above her lady parts. She can be short tempered, but she also knows how to chill when she's in her natural habitat. We worked together on these three images, portraying both her bioluminescent patterns (as well as her bioluminescent jizz!) and her ability to retract her cock at will. As we discussed her illustration, he asked me to make her fit into the other girls' world, so she does look like someone who could've been to the local aquarium a couple of times, y'know... =^____^= I hope you like her!

In a sense, she's very different from Epona, who was raised away from the big city, or Leto, who grew up in the streets. Tallulah has a couple of distinct physical features, like her freckles (from extended exposure to the Sun), her athletic silhouette, and her heterochromia iridum (her eyes have different colors, one being blue and the other green), but her identity changed considerably since she was first introduced, from the geeky student who worked at the local aquarium to a more androgynous woman who loves all things queer, and then back again to a slightly more feminine self. She's a mystery to me as well, but I do get this fluid aspect of her personality. She's the only futa girl in this gallery who's able to hide her dolphin penis inside her body, much like marine mammals do. I imagine she's the only futa here that can truly live a double life, switching back and forth as she desires, in ways that not even Iris (who transitioned from male to female, irreversibly) can match. Being the two most flexible characters in this sense, I chose them to depict what could be one of many quintessential Tallulahs, and they're underwater, of course: her natural habitat, so to speak. I wanted this image to be simple, yet able to show us this fluid, complex nature of hers.
