Here we go again. Slow updates. I've got my hands way too full

Hello, everyone.

I know i've said this lots of times already, but it happened again. I'm busy with other things irl, to the point that i don't have time to continue my Ridge Racer track conversions. I've made no promises regarding release dates, but i really tried my best to continue working on these. I am very sorry that the updates are slow, or even to the point that it felt like i abandoned the projects.

What should be a very easy job to do, which is to convert Southbay Docks to AC (without reworking the track mesh), turned out to be an abandoned project, all because i have no time to spend to work on these. Heck, even i didn't make any more progress with Hurricane Skyway/Helter Skelter. It's just the same as i last left it for the lights optimization post. I'm doing other designs for my irl job, which basically took my whole day's worth of time, and also commuting really drained my energy after all that work.

Explanation aside, if you feel like your donations are not worth to be made on a very slow update work, it's okay to withdraw the donation. I understand that it might be annoying or frustrating for a simple project like this to not be finished or done quickly, but i'm working only by myself as a one man team. These tracks are made as a side/passion project out of my love for Ridge Racer and racing games, so it is not my main focus.

Regardless, i am NOT going to abandon these Ridge Racer projects. I will only work when i really have time that i can allocate to continuing this. I hope most of you will have the patience to wait for the tracks releases, even though it might not be up to expectation.

Very sorry for the long post. Thank you so much for reading this. I apologize if it wastes your time.

Southbay Docks Reveal

Hello, everyone.

The secret track from the previous post is Southbay Docks. Credits goes to Xenn for getting the model of the track. It is still in early stage, with only some night lights implemented, and i still need to iron out lots of stuff. This track won't be a rework, rather just a port, so the lowpoly corners won't be touched, but rest assured that the collision for the tracks are as smooth as possible.

I've recorded gameplay footage for the track, but as of the time of writing this post, my internet decided to go offline, so i cannot upload large footage and risking high mobile data usage. The footage will be uploaded once my internet gets sorted out.

And another thing to add, Aviator Loop layout also exists in this track model, and is fully drivable!

For now, enjoy some pictures of the track, and stay tuned.

"Secret" track is in the works, alongside Hurricane Skyway!

Hello, everyone. I've just finished porting the raw model of another track from one Ridge Racer game. No lights yet, and as usual, turns are lowpoly, so car is VERY bouncy. I can't give pictures from other parts of the track, else it will spoil the track that i'm working on. For now, this picture is the only clue on what track this is. There are 2 more tracks that needed to be worked on before being ported to assetto, but i'll leave those for the future.

Track Lights Optimization

Hello, everyone. I've got more time to work on the track mods, and this time, i decided to adjust lights for upcoming updates or releases. Moving forward, i would be using C13 AEGIS post processing filter as a standard for making track lights. This is a beautiful ppfilter, and it also made me realize how overly bright the track lights are for my mods.

I've already changed the values of lights for Hurricane Skyway, and did not make a backup config for it, so i just took a screenshot from my previous video as a "before" comparison.

Bonus 3 screenshots after the comparison, because why not.

Edit from 16 June: Turns out i forgot to reset CSP lights brightness from Pure config. It's set at 2.5x instead of 1x. That explains why SRP looks too bright. Now my Ridge Racer tracks look too dark. Regardless, everything will be re-optimized.

Seaside Route 765 v0.2 - Update 1

Slow Progress Update

Hello, everyone. Progress on my mods would be put on hold for now, as i'm starting to get busy with commissions and other real life stuff. I will still keep working on Ridge Racer projects slowly though, so no worries there.

Aside from Helter Skelter/Hurricane Skyway, i have something brewing in the background, such as another Ridge Racer track that i have on my hands, but not yet ported to Assetto. There's also an upcoming Ridge Racer car mod that i'm working on, but i will not assure the best of quality, since it will be my very first car mod for Assetto.

Hurricane Skyway/Helter Skelter - Patreon Progress Update 1.5

Just a sneak peek picture of night lights. This is taken in second tunnel section. I'll slow progress down due to difficulties (and focusing work on private commissions).

Re-working the lowpoly walls takes quite a lot of work, due to uv maps, and then there's the absence of any form of environment behind the first tunnel's exit. The track can only be run normal, not reverse. In it's current state, if we were to run the track on reverse, some part of the map would break the immersion due to lack of environment models (such as walls, trees, skylines, etc).

Hurricane Skyway/Helter Skelter - Patreon Progress Update 1

All the roads are now made smooth, with the exception of walls and some other objects still not treated. Night lights will come after i smooth out walls. The track also has a lack of street lamps, so i will need to manually add them. For simplicity purposes, i think reusing the street lamp asset from my Seaside Route 765 mod would do the trick.

Hurricane Skyway/Helter Skelter Announcement

Done with Seaside Route 765, on with another project. Next up would be the famous first track from R4's 1st GP race of Real Racing Roots '99. This is a port from Ridge Racer 2 PSP. Track is basically still the raw model, so assetto's physics definitely won't play nice with the lowpoly turns. Bumps here and there. Also the map is full of holes if you look higher than a car's height. I'll post a video version on YouTube once i have time!

[RELEASE] Seaside Route 765 for Assetto Corsa

Hello, everyone. The mod is finally ready to be released. There are some bugs and glitches remaining, but i deem the track ready for use as of now. It's been a very tiresome process of learning, but in the end, it was all worth it.

Here's Seaside Route 765 for you to enjoy in singleplayer or multiplayer!

Known bugs/glitches:

- AI is slow or stupid (crashing into walls, braking on places where they shouldn't, steering before a jump, etc). Nothing i can do about it. Feel free to make a new AI path, and it would be better to share it if it's better than what i make!

- Some cars cannot pass the bridge by the waterfall. They will ride an invisible object and be sent flying (regardless if you run the track clockwise or counter-clockwise). I've tried to troubleshoot it, but found no abnormalities from my track model.

A similar behavior can be replicated on tracks such as 90sGDSP's Happogahara (Drift Course) with some cars (in my experience, it would be ADC's RX-7 FC). The car that i've found to exhibit this strange behavior is the Integra Type-R DC5 mod (made by Jack Thorpe), INCLUDING ALL OTHER CARS THAT USES THE SAME BASE. For example: Jaskier's Techno Pro Spirit Integra DC5.

- Environment sounds such as crowd cheer and waterfall cannot be clearly heard if you're not on free camera/replay camera. In the case of crowd cheer, you can hear it beside the pits, but the range is very small, unlike free camera/replay camera. You cannot hear waterfall sounds if you're using chase camera/interior camera, but you can hear it on free camera/replay camera.

- Rain effects inside tunnel. I don't know how to prevent this from happening, as of the time during this readme's writing.

- Performance may vary depending on your PC's specs. I will try and fix this in future versions, along with additional route from PSP version, which is the Ridge City Highway.
