HeyJ, team! This REport includes mention of a character singing, so watch at your own risk (and probably avoid any comments below, too!)

This REport is equal parts good and bad — perfectly balanced, as all REports should be! We’ve certainly found the silver lining, though, and I think FNAF: Dark Remains continues looking (and sounding) ever stronger! It’s pretty funny (or sad, or frustrating maybe) to think how long some of us waited for this follow-up to Web of Lies, and how we’re STILL waiting, despite an incredible amount of effort over the past few months! I think your wait has narrowed, though, from years… to months… to weeks… 😏 Let’s not start counting days quite yet, though, or it’ll begin sounding like a long ways off still! 😂

Thank you for continuing to support Random Encounters and we hope we make you proud (or at least relieved to be done) with our finale to the FNAF Musical. We owe you all, like, two solid years of fan service musicals after this!

REport: A Visit From Glitchtrap

HeyJ, pals! We had the pleasure of a double-visit this past week, with both Malcolm AND Casey dropping in for various business (and fun)! Casey was happy to give a little extra detail about some of his recording session -- nothing story-critical, but anyone trying to come into Dark Remains blank may choose to save this one for a little later.

We'll have you out on set with us for filming THAT'S NOT MY NEIGHBOR next, so stick around and stay tuned! And -- of course -- keep an eye out for more FNAF updates, because SUMMER IS COMING.

REport: Malcolm Malcame to Visit!

⚠️ LIGHT SPOILERS IN THIS REPORT ⚠️

HeyJ, team! We’re a bit overdue for an update, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have some work underway for our next musical. Of course, FNAF: Dark Remains is still occupying sone attention, between music, editing, and audio/voice over. We also shared the current cut (about 40 minutes) with our visiting moderator, Malctonio, to hear his thoughts so far. We appreciated his valuable takeaways, especially concerning music pacing, and are doing our best to reduce downtime between each song (admittedly, the songs are a little back-loaded, in our opinion!)

We’ll have some That’s Not My Neighbor costuming and props to share shortly, so thanks for supporting Random Encounters and stay tuned!

REport: April Fools' Joke...?

Greetings, encounterers! The cat's out of the bag and a premiere is officially scheduled to launch tomorrow morning, so it's time to finally come clean and admit that, yes, we made an actual musical for Wii Fit. We enjoyed all the speculation happening on the Discord server about whether or not the musical was real, and honestly, keeping it a secret even from our Patrons made it all the more interesting to watch play out!

This REport is from the making of the teaser, but since it mentions the joke not really being a joke, we've held onto it and are releasing it into the wild now. Expect another REport tomorrow from the filming of the actual musical! Also, as previously mentioned, we are still working on a musical for "That's Not My Neighbor" and, of course, we're continuing to work hard on getting FNAF: Dark Remains ready for this summer! Thanks again for supporting the channel, even if we kept this one a secret from you!

REport: What Remains of Freddy Fazbear

HeyJ, team! Don’t worry, Freddy’s fine — in fact, not only are he and his friends wrapped, but production on FNAF: The Musical’s finale is almost complete! I was so excited to share the remaining script size with you that I didn’t even mention we’re in the process of gathering a couple last guest stars to fill some small cameo roles… 😉

We’re excited to move forward with That’s Not My Neighbor shortly as well, and will have many updates about it, FNAF, and more throughout April. 🙂 Thank you so much for being part of Random Encounters!

REport: WE WATCHED FNAF: DARK REMAINS!

HeyJ, Encounterers! I'm so excited to tell you that we've officially screened Dark Remains as a group, and it's.... got a ways to go still! 😂 That's not to say it won't be amazing or that we aren't proud of it, though -- it's absolutely WILD to look at how much we've filmed over the past year and how it cuts together into an ambitious, unpredictable story!

It's also time to come clean about a small detail or two we may have overlooked sharing (hence the spoiler tag). We know we can trust you, though! 😉 Thanks again for your patience and we hope this helps explain how FNAF: Dark Remains went from an overdue end cap to our biggest project ever. We're looking forward to sharing more with you in the weeks ahead!

REport: Do You Like Cheese?

Greetings, encounterers! Just in case you were under the assumption that we didn't have anything left to film for FNAF, this REport is here to prove that theory wrong! While we don't have MUCH left to film, small shoots like last night's are still needed for pickups and things we skipped. We've even got another small shoot scheduled with an actor for Friday! How exciting!

Beyond FNAF, we've got a few other projects in the works at the moment, but I'm not sure I'm authorized to share any info on those yet! Anyway... back to editing Dark Remains! :D

REport: Final Shots from Lethal Company

HeyJ, team! Sorry, this was pretty last second (and not color corrected), so it's probably tough to see some of the details, but we were outside last night doing our final pick-up shots for 'MEET THE QUOTA!' 

The song is already hitting streaming platforms apparently (which is good!), and we hope you'll enjoy it even more once there's a music video to match! I'll be sending out music files shortly for everyone on the music tier, and we're looking forward to chatting with you on Discord after the musical goes live (noon Pacific Daylight Time!)

Your next update will likely be about either FNAF, an April musical, or an animation in the works. ^^ Thank you so much for sticking with Random Encounters and we hope we can redeem what's begun as a tough year for gamers on YouTube.

REport: A Nutty REport

HeyJ, squad! Now that you've seen a teaser for our Lethal Company song, and a little behind-the-scenes footage as well, here's another quick clip from on one of the sets. The lighting's a little iffy, since we wandered about, but I think it gives a good idea of what we've been up to. ^^

If you're a member of our Discord community, you'll also be excited to know we're finally -- FINALLY -- getting another Patreon Voice Chat this Friday! From about 12:30 - 1:30 PDT, you can pop in and chat about the new musical (or other RE-lated stuff). We haven't gotten to catch up in a few months, so it'll be nice to say hi and hit you all with a weird Lethal Company-themed question. ;)

REport: Welcome to Assurance!

HeyJ, everyone! By now, you've seen our Teaser Trailer for 'MEET THE QUOTA: A LETHAL COMPANY SONG,' and hopefully you enjoyed it. We got to hang out in some pretty dank production spaces while making this project, and also some really unique locations doubling as abandoned planets. Of course, we had to bring you along for a little behind-the-scenes at the same time!

By the way, it's also FREDDY FRIDAY, which means the whole team has mostly devoted today to working on FNAF: The Musical's conclusion. There's been plenty of scheduling, editing, and music under construction today, and we've even discussed stealing a second day each week for additional Dark Remains progress starting in April... Despite pouring months of time and thousands of dollars into it, I love what we're making and am super proud of how it's coming together!

We also quietly stole an extra, non-FNAF meeting at lunch to discuss an April musical, but I won't bore you with the details... 😉 You'll surely hear us come back to that as soon as Lethal Company is live. Thank you so much for your support!

REport: Another YouTuber Retired

HeyJ, everyone! Wow, what a devastating turn of events in today's REport! We hoped we'd never have to make an update like this, but... okay, fine, I'll stop clickbaiting you. Random Encounters is still alive -- in fact, we had a bit of a mishap with one of our props (actors? Stuntmen?) on set, which is why you're getting this sad video!

We've officially filmed about 30% of the musical, and will be doing the rest this week. We're officially on schedule to launch our Lethal Company musical Friday the 15th!

We'll film an update once we're out officially on set again. It's looking really good, and Raymy's recordings for the music side have all been finished! Thanks for staying patient with us -- we hope this fits great into the Random Encounters collection (and maybe even survives a round of the RE Battle Royale... go vote!)

January and February are always rough financial months for online creators, so we're very thankful to have your support while balancing multiple projects and few uploads. FNAF has cost us a lot of money since it entered production last summer, and made almost none of it back since it still isn't complete (though filming is almost wrapped!) We're very privileged to have you supporting the costs of other, smaller musicals that WILL generate the revenue needed to pay our last cast members and finish FNAF: Dark Remains!

Which reminds me, a certain someone in the Dark Remains cast is wrapping up his YouTube career this Friday... Please go show Matt some love on his channels (and maybe keep an eye out for some familiar faces celebrating his retirement this week!)

REport: Shifting Things Around!

I know we told you that a teaser for Lethal Company was coming this week, but we've decided to shift some things around and release it next week instead (with the musical arriving the week after). Instead, RE Xtra will be getting a long-awaited house tour video this Friday! REport: Freddy Fridays Continues!

HeyJ, everyone! We've been busy with a bit of work on the FNAF Musical, but also with prepping music and costuming for our LETHAL COMPANY song. There's quite a bit still to do, but I think it'll be a great addition to Random Encounters (and it will land just in time for this year's BATTLE ROYALE, too!)

We'll be narrowing our 8 pages of FNAF down to about 4 in the next month, as well as scheduling voice actors, finishing music recordings, and more. As to which other musicals are on the horizon... I'm sure we'll start sneaking out updates on them shortly! ;)

REport: Another FNAF Cameo!

⚠️⚠️ SPOILERS! ⚠️⚠️

HeyJ, team! I'd mentioned an old REport filmed on set in Kansas City, but I didn't mention who it was filmed with... Some of you may already be familiar with their work, but if not, you won't have much trouble hunting Dheusta's music down on YouTube (they've collaborated on many FNAF songs, including popular work with both CG5 and Dawko!)

We were honestly struggling with casting this role, so it was a wonderful relief to reach out to Dallin (who I'd recently met on Benbyy's FNAF Creator livestream!) and lock him in for a very rushed, yet important part in the FNAF musical. And he did an awesome job, too!

I believe your next REport will be filmed on the set of Lethal Company: The Musical -- or, at least, building the set! You've all been complete champs waiting on both projects and updates, and you deserve way more amazing musicals than you've gotten lately.  We're grateful for your support and excited to release several new musicals by our 13th birthday!

REport: Turn Your Volume Off For the Beginning

YIKES. HeyJ, team -- remember me? It's been a hot minute since our last update, I know!

We actually had an old, forgotten REport waiting, but it felt lame sharing that after disappearing so long. So we'll show that later this week, and force you to endure my terrible scratchy voice for a few minutes today!

Lest you think I'd forgotten, we WILL be giving you a house tour soon as well! Preparing this house for filming, editing, costuming, etc. is actually one of the biggest slowdowns to having a new musical ready -- I had NO IDEA buying a house would be such a BAD MOVE for productivity! (To the adults in the room, I see your raised eyebrows and judgy faces!)

I could do a deep dive or TED Talk all about expectations vs. reality of owning a home (and I probably will some day!), but suffice it to say, it was a great move for finishing FNAF... and a terrible move for pretty much everything else! 😂 But we're excited to show you more of it, and DOUBLY EXCITED to start filming musicals in it!

Thank you so much for sticking with us. We've definitely been through a dark patch, but 2024 has a lot loaded in up ahead and it's all thanks to your support! We're sticking to our guns and turning video games into musicals -- the new ones, the classic ones, the scary ones, the silly ones... There's too many left still to retire anytime soon!

REport: The Last Update from Palmdale, California

HeyJ, everyone! It wouldn't be a proper final REport if it wasn't 17 minutes long, right? ;) We're officially signing off from our previous home in Palmdale, California and thought it was a great opportunity to also give you a little taste of our Lethal Company musical finally. Looking forward to hearing some projects you'd like to see RE tackle this year (around FNAF, of course.)

REport: The Grungy Birds

HeyJ, squad. This one's a fun throwback for some of the OG's on the channel (or maybe it'll just make you cringe...) I guess looking back can be a nice way of reminding us all how far we've come!

We'll be doing our final REport from our last house this weekend, so prepare for some weepy feelings and farewells. The -GREAT- news is, we've officially moved EVERYTHING into our new home-office-studio, and it's EVEN about to get a huge internet upgrade! Now we just gotta finish FNAF and some new musicals...

REport: Katie’s Final Day on Set!

HeyJ, everyone! It almost makes me a tiny bit misty-eyed, but we actually finished filming Katie’s last scene for FNAF: The Musical! 🥹 I kind of can’t believe we really filmed all these scenes, and I can’t thank Katie enough for really locking in with us for a LOT of long days and pretty intense scenes! 🙏

The Impossible Project grows more possibke by the day! We returned from Kansas City yesterday with even more filmed and another REport to share. 😊

I want to thank all of you guys again for bearing with us, knowing full well that Five Nights at Freddy’s is NOT what some of you follow RE for. We’ll film a full non-FNAF update for you shortly, and I truly hope that whether you follow Freddy’s games or not, the FNAF Musical will be a fun and worthwhile Random Encounters experience for everyone. REport: Eve of the Awards

HeyJ! We should have put this up sooner, but here’s a little look at what went on the night of filming for the RE Awards. It’s been pretty jam-packed around here…

Speaking of, Gwen and I fly out for more filming soon, and hopefully we’ll get a few minutes to update you again when we arrive. I’m sorry Lethal Company’s been so quiet; hopefully I can have the song ready for filming (and showing off to you!) in the next week. We appreciate your patience! 🙏

And on a related note, trading cards have been mailed out, including the promo ones for backers who contributed on that tier or above all year (quite a lot of you!) It meant a lot seeing how many bonus cards we got to mail out, even after a disappointing year.

This year is still picking up the shattered pieces of 2023 (moving into our new home, fixing up its issues, filming and editing the rest of FNAF, handling some extra-crazy taxes…), but nature IS healing! We believe this will be a good year to be an Encounterer (but we’ll let you be the judge, of course!)

REport: 16 Pages

HeyJ, team! I think we filmed this REport a week ago, so forgive us for any repeat information that’s maybe been covered already elsewhere. 😅

I’m so proud of this musical and how much fun and love (I hope) it shows for the FNAF Musical series and characters. We’re absolutely guilty of going off the rails and favoring RE lore over game lore 😅 and I feel bold enough to say I think most viewers will be grateful for that decision! As our last chance to spend time with Freddy and his friends, we’re leaving it all on the table and giving them as much crazy nonsense as possible.

REport: Our New Baby! 👶

HeyJ, crew! Um... Maybe it's better if I don't even try explaining this one. I'd say it speaks for itself, but... I can't tell what it's saying. Maybe a cry for help?

We're not sure how our schedule looks, but there is DEFINITELY a music video in the works for Lethal Company, which we'll share some music for shortly. We'll be filming even more FNAF scenes over the weekend (and even traveling again for Dark Remains after that!), but the truth is, FNAF is slowly -- SLOWLY -- winding down into post-production (!!!). You'll actually start to see updates about OTHER PROJECTS instead, and you MAY even forget we were making all this FNAF stuff... at least for a couple months...

Thank you for supporting Random Encounters. It means so much to have you still here with us, helping keep the channel alive and in production. We don't take it for granted, and we're so hopeful that you like what's in store this year!

REport: Balloon Boy Got Even More Annoying 💀

HeyJ, everyone! We’ve been knocking down a few more of our remaining 16 pages of the FNAF: Dark Remains script, but we’ve unfortunately hit a snag… It seems our “perfectly functioning” Balloon Boy has become the latest casualty, and the timing is uncanny: his most involved sequence is scheduled to film this week, making his damages a significant blow to one of our few remaining weak spots… 😵‍💫 Thanks to your support, though, he has a replacement en route already to help him finish out the project (Much of the 16 pages remaining feature his sorry little mug!)

Our only other update concerns a tentative Lethal Company musical: we’ve finally played it. It’s fine. 😂 The gears are certainly turning, but as the old saying goes, “Timing’s everything…” Will January prove to be acceptable timing? We’ll keep you updated in any case!

Well... sort of... We have a few straggler REports to share from last year still. Turns out, we were so busy the last few days that we failed to drop updates as often as we had them. So we're playing catch up with a couple things.

The new year also brings the final 2023 Patreon perk: a special trading card that will be exclusively sent to Patrons who supported Random Encounters all twelve months. Cards are still going through printing due to holiday delays, but I wanted you to know we appreciated the support and haven't forgotten about you!

We're actively researching more games for new musicals and have more FNAF to film this week, so look forward to a few new updates (and some old ones still rolling out) soon. Happy New Year, Encounterers!

This has been one of the toughest secrets to keep about Dark Remains, especially since it’s been hotly debated by fans! 😅 We’ve opted to keep our mouths mostly shut and let Matt’s exact involvement in the musical eventually speak for itself, but we‘re well aware that guest star cameos are among the top of the wish list for most fans, and we’re continuing to attempt to wrangle more…

The Original 2023 Schedule

HeyJ, crew! Here at the end of the year, I thought it’d be fun to look back at what our proposed plan for the year was intended to be… 😂 Yeah, some of them were a bit of a reach, but obviously a few were discussed quite a bit, and a couple actually happened!

We never apparently settled on one for February, which makes me curious what we might have done… 🤔 Of  everything on this list, which…

1)  …would you have wanted most?

2) … are you most glad didn’t happen?

3) …would you have switched (if any) with either Pizza Tower, RED, or our unfinished Scare-o-ling song?

4) …game would you have added in February?

HeyJ, team! This is a dated REport I forgot about, but thought I'd share now since it has a cool little tidbit of trivia snuck in there. ;) No real spoilers this time, but I think the next might... If you want, I'll share a little music from our cancelled (postponed?) Christmas musical, too, in a separate REport.

Thanks for being super patient and generous, by the way. Some of you have supported Random Encounters for literally ten years, and you've absolutely seen some disasters in your day... but, also, you'll probably back me up and say no year has been quite as feisty to film during as this one. >_<
