For higher level patrons (a VIP exclusive to start) I'll be shipping more regular Alpha updates, more than likely every 3-4 weeks at the latest. Lately I've been working a lot, so for now, expect the first one this weekend, and then I'll announce the following update in the next two weeks for the drop.
Personally, I love the animation anyway, so crafting the singular update saves me time, gives a better quality product to everybody, and as you've seen recently, I'll be adding polls as I develop the animated scenes to reflect supporter preferences. Speaking of, that's already being worked into the Tricia scene, so thank you to those patrons at that level for your input.
Hope your week is off to an epic beginning, for those of you stuck inside a cubicle, or on a M-F grind.

It's only a little extra work, but with a tight schedule, I'm considering doing away with the lower tier versions of the game, and only creating the animated version. Pros: this saves me time. Cons: Hm, I don't know?
As animation takes time (more computer than human, but still) and it's something I'm particularly interested in, I'd prefer to only have the singular edition of the game. What I'll probably do is create more polls for higher tier patrons (as I've been doing the last few weeks) to get their feedback on various development aspects.
What do you think about the different game editions? If there's only one, do you mind waiting an extra...week - if it means you get the animated version. Will anyone really miss the non-animated version?
2022-03-27 15:28:50 +0000 UTC View PostThere are now 80+ images ready, aside from the 17+ animations, for the .018. Only the two scenes so far, the Lily, Dee, and MC scene, and then the date with Tricia (in progress).
I had considered a few ideas for the scene, ultimately leaving a some options to higher tier patrons, so there will be a new animated scene with Tricia in this episode as well.
In the scene I'm adding a few variables so it'll be obvious if you're on the path to get the scene, or not. That way if you say, change your mind and aren't interested in the secretary, the scene is optional.

I've finished most everything for the scorcher of an afternoon scene with Daisy, Lily, and MC together having the most animation of any scene in game so far.
Now, for the evening scene, I've started working on the date with Tricia scene, and thought I'd share a sample image. Since she works in publishing...I figured instead of the old & bitter Elizabeth who wanted to meet up at a bar, young & hopeful Tricia would want to meet at the most wonderous place they can visit: a place full of books.
Things are looking good for an the April update already.

The feature was easier to leave in than rip out, so the .017 Basic has the ability to modify names + relationships that's going into the .018 edition, as well as some fixes that weren't yet in previous editions of the game.
The Regular Guest subscribers can download here; after this, in a week, the Basic Plus Guests will be able to download (Mar 27th) and the plain old Basic Guests will be able to download the .017 update on April 3rd.

2022-03-20 15:27:36 +0000 UTC View PostIn reviewing the code & script I've seen many opportunities for improvement. I'll be making some changes, the nicest for players will be the "Name and relationship changes," link on the new Character page.
When playing, similar if you've seen it to the Replay feature, there is a new link for the Gallery - within the top level gallery page, you can pick from all eleven characters in the game so far. The three main characters, Daisy, Lily, and Rose, you can select from their profile page a new link that will take you through any changes with their names, nicknames, and the other personalized variables.
This way, if you aren't happy with some of the way the text reads when playing, you won't necessarily have to start over to improve the experience.
Anything else you can think of that would make the game better, feel free to write or drop a comment. Thanks for your interest in Her Heart's Desire.

Currently, the only character included is Daisy, with a 40 image automatically playing slideshow. There will be other galleries added in each month going forward.

2022-03-13 16:29:41 +0000 UTC View PostNow that I've mapped out the content I plan on creating for the remainder of the .017 update, and day four in game, I wanted to get your take on other content I should have in the roadmap.
A few of the characters in the list haven't been in any animations yet, and Naomi's being animated now for the .017 update, so in the case of that character, it would be another animated scene.
My plan is to put together another update after this weekend's final .017 and aim to produce the preferred content from the poll in early April 9th, give or take.
If none of the options appeal, throw in a comment.

Updated this to make it public.
After the yoga scene, the group heads to lunch at an unusual spot - Chef Naomi's Place. Scene has 57 renders so far, and working on an animation (or two) to finish the scene.
If you're a Special Guest or higher subscriber, there's a poll for bonus content here you should vote in, as it determines what goes into a new replayable scene :)

After this, the next scene I have in the list is the Day 4 lunch scene, after that, it'll be on to the (optional) date with Tricia, the publisher's secretary, if the MC made that choice.
I'm committed to the March 13th date to ship the next update, so it may or may not contain that many more scenes beyond what's rendered the next 1-3 days, as I have to play test, add sound effects, and update music tracks in the game too.
What's that mean for the content included in the next .017 final update? These pieces below are either finished, or planned as part of the minimum content I'll produce:

I've got the scene almost half rendered, and then I'll begin on the next lunch scene after the workout.
There are over 50 renders and counting in the next version for the thirteenth, in addition, there are more animations in the day 4 morning scene than the day 3 evening scene with Rose (400+ animated frames vs 270). The animations are slightly longer as well in the new scene with Lily & MC on day 4 morning, as I was trying to make the animations different / improved.
I think it's a nice improvement.
Once I'm further along with the story frames, and the already planned content, I'll add a poll (probably this weekend) for patrons about some aspects of the .017 final update :)

Forty new images (so far), and a new replayable, fully animated scene with Lily. I got a little carried away, and ended up making more animations with Lily & MC for this scene than the just produced Rose / MC scene (this has ~410 animated frames, vs 270 in the Alpha .017 update with Rose).
Since it's day 4 in game, for the remainder of the day, MC has the following schedule:
Other scenes & content TBD; I'm not sure how many of these scenes I'll have finished by the deadline, but I'll try my best to get through the lot.
Requests, comments? Bug reports kindly see the fix it list above, and if it's not there, then lemme know so I can make sure it's tackled and or improved soon.

2022-03-01 15:20:17 +0000 UTC View PostI just played through while adding new animations in progress and saw that Rose didn't end up with two of the sound effects that are supposed to be in the back half of the scene. Those have been edited, and are now in the dev version I have.
Updated: also fixed the scene replay issue with the latest Rose content from the .017 alpha; the bug didn't actually have the ending of the replay code, which caused the game to just continue if you went through replay mode.
Other than the aforementioned sound effects, have you seen any bugs? Please share, that way I can make sure they're fixed in the next update.

There are a few priority scenes for this one; to start off the day, Lily and MC have some time together without the other two house guests. There are more than thirty images in this breakfast scene, and animation has already started today.

2021-09-05 19:31:55 +0000 UTC View PostUpdate - my bad, there are 17 animations in the scene - ended up taking longer, and I think I need to limit animations per scene to perhaps less we'll see. Still working.
There are 9 unique animations rendered so far, and another one rendering right now. Then, the "finishing," animation for the scene with Daisy & MC.
While the animations are finishing their rendering tomorrow, I'll be fixing up the music, sound effects, reviewing the text, etc - fingers crossed it'll be ready for supporters by end of day.
Worst case, it'll 100% be ready Friday. Animations have taken since the weekend to produce, due to my computer being a little slow :( Part of that is the location, which is why I'm probably going to use some different assets (eventually) home, bedrooms, etc - but that won't be for a little while.
I'll share the release notes tomorrow as well once the development is closer to done, as that's typically the last thing I put together for the update.

On the positive side, there's more static images + at least as much animation as the previous .015 update, and the script is nearly done. Animation + a few more static images are next.
I'd like to do this (game dev) full time but I've had to research other ways to pay the bills lately, interviews & what not, and that's been weighing on me. Sucks, but it's the way it has to be for now so I can pay off mounting credit card debt :(
Hope you're healthy & enjoying your summer. I'll enjoy mine a little more once the update (and the last interview, fingers crossed) is done soon.

Daisy has a new maid uniform in the next eposide, .016, now in progress. I've written a scene and rendered it already, and have a bunch more content already on deck after this is finished.
With the backlog of stuff, I haven't yet decided on what to include for the next VIP poll, I'll make some decisions and post it in the next two days (or sooner, if ya'll give me a compelling idea) :)

What's new in this version?
Less, honestly, than I was hoping the past few weeks, but after a shopping trip on Daz (and maybe another in the short term) as well as another place, I think we've got all the core assets to make the vision I have come to life, which in turn should speed up content creation for the future.
VIP and Special Deluxe supporters can get the fully animated version here;
Special & Regular guests can get the early access version here. Basic supporters can now download the .015 update as well as of August 9th (apologies for the delay).
2021-08-02 23:11:22 +0000 UTC View PostAnimations are going nicely for the scene with Lisa / MC. Once those are all finished, I have a few more things to wrap up for the release, but I'm certain it'll all be finished by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.
What's coming up in the release tomorrow?
The update I've planned for August 16th, two weeks after this one, should be larger in size, as now with much more of the foundation poured for the story, it's easier - as well as all the new costumes & props.
There are still some locations I need to scout for the upcoming release mid-August, so if you have any location requests (It'd be great to see them visit...I don't know, a different restaurant? A hotel? etc) do let me know.
Once the update is done, I also plan on adding the initial gallery with bonus images, which will be bundled into either a bug fix for .015 or the .016 in two weeks.

For a scene with Lisa in an update coming soon, there will be an animated scene. I think all the women in game are hawt, so having any (or multiple, which will happen sooner or later) in a scene is cool ;)
By request, there will be a scene with Lisa, and I'm working on it at the moment. 50 images so far, and today, I'll be setting up the first animation(s) for this scene as well.
