Strawberry bread recipe!!

To start August right I decided to wake up early, and have a sweet breakfast. so I decided to make some strawberry bread! It’s soft moist and and honestly just delightful to eat starting your day. it was like cake! so if you’re a strawberry fan that loves to bake, this recipe is for you. it had my morning smelling like absolute heaven. 

dry ingredients

one cup of fresh strawberries

two cups of all-purpose flour

one tbs of cinnamon sugar

one teaspoon of baking soda 

one teaspoon of salt

wet ingredients

one egg

one cup of milk (I highly recommend butter milk tho! I just didn't have any.)

1/2 cup of vegetable oil (+ extra for oiling the loaf pan!)

one teaspoon of vanilla extract. 

also! this bread is really easy and fast to make! If you don't know what to eat one morning, treat yourself to something sweet. so here are the instructions!

Instructions

FIRST Preheat your oven at 350°

#1. Dice your cup of strawberries. put them aside. 

• sprinkle some sugar on them!

#2. mix together, all the dry ingredients listed above in a separate bowl. put it aside.

• mix together the two cups of flour, the sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon sugar all in a big bowl!

#3. mix together all wet ingredients in a smaller, medium bowl.

#4 carefully combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. 

• try not to over mix!

#5. time for the strawberriesssssss

• carefully add your strawberries and stir until combined and evenly distributed. or decorate the top with a heart, or an initial! 

#6 pour the batter into two 9 x 5 loaf pans!

#7 bake for 50minutes to an hour! 

• I like my breads a lil crispy so I leave mine in for about 1hr 2o minutes!

AND VOILA' you have a sweet strawberry morning! treat yourself and make some milk tea, and grab your favorite book!

LIFE UPDATE getting ready for August! (And focusing on my mental health!)

As most of you know I quit my full-time job this month to focus on content and I’m currently transitioning to a lil bookshop job.

So as of right now, I don’t have a reliable source of income at the moment. So I’ve been struggling to make the content that I want, and it’s been affecting me negatively!

So for the rest of this month (Saturday, July 24th- Saturday, July 30th), I’m just going to focus on my website, my shop, and myself! So that everything can be up and running by August and I’ll be refreshed and ready for anything! (And even have new content ready!)

I’ve been pushing myself too hard and need to rest!

I won’t be pausing my billing for the month of August since I’ll definitely be creating content that month, and I’ll certainly still be active on my patron this week while I focus on other things! It’ll be a little slow but I’ll still show cosplays and sneak peeks of projects that I’m working on for August! I’m mostly just taking a hiatus from my other social media.

Bubblyzelda's Dark fantasy fashion tips, How to dress like the main antagonist (on a budget!)

the first step to being the main character is to DRESS like you're the main character. but we all know how expensive that can be. 

believe it or not, most of my wardrobe is thrifted! it's all about accessories, coordination, and daydreaming! if you're a dark fantasy lover like myself, then here are some tips on how to bring dark fantasy into your wardrobe, 

#1. BASIC BLACK CLOTHING IS KEY (and it doesn't have to be expensive either!)

let me be real, I circulate through the same pairs of black clothing ALL the time. LITERALLY. the same black tops, the same black skirts, the same black dresses, etc, etc. it doesn't matter, the key is to look dark, mysterious, and elegant.

#2. It's all about combining different textures and fabrics that work together!

like I said, basic black clothing is key, but it all doesn't have to be the same fabrics! make sure your basic black clothing also consists of different fabrics and textures. mostly lace, frills, fishnets, latex/leather and velvet. textures definitely make your outfit pop and make you feel more elegant, powerful, and mysterious.

#3 CORSET BELTS ARE A MUST

corset belts are absolutely needed! they transform your entire outfit in just an instant by helping loose-fitted clothing and combining different tops and bottoms! corset belts automatically transform a simple top and skirt to look like one complete dress! trust me I do it all the time. if you have a cute dress you want to wear, but only want to show off the top, throw a skirt over the bottom of the dress, combine it with a corset belt, and BOOM! just like that! (just make sure your dress is short! so it won't peak out from under your skirt.)

#4. laced shawls, black cardigans, capes, and cloaks! 

look I don't have a cloak or a cape yet, but long cardigans and laced shawls can definitely give you that magical look as well. basically having something long and flowy over your shoulders gives your outfit a more royal, elegant, ethereal look. (and keeps you warm without having to put on a jacket that throws off the whole fit!)

#5 Accessories. Accessories. ACCESSORIES!!! (there's no such thing as too much!!)

I'm telling you!! accessories are what MAKES an outfit! this aesthetic highly relies on dark fantasy accessories, such as;

• victorian themed jewelry/charms
• Leather wrist bands.
• catholic aesthetic jewelry. (I'm not religious but I'm obsessed with the catholic aesthetic)
• sword or weapon-themed jewelry. 
• astrology-themed jewelry
• fantasy/dragon-themed rings

and basically any goth-themed jewelry you can get your hands on! I'm telling you jewelry is a big part of this aesthetic, there's no such thing as too much jewelry!!

#7 gloves and parasols

 gloves to me determine the theme of the outfit. do I feel romantic and dainty? (laced, velvet, or silk gloves) or powerful and dangerous. (leather or latex gloves) it all depends on how you're feeling. parasols are not only beautiful (and make you feel like a princess!) but also an extremely good way to cool yourself down. after all, we are wearing all black!

#8 waist bags, harnesses, and daggers! (plus extra accessories!)

vintage and steampunk waist bags are PERFECT if you're going for the dangerous adventurer look. (don't get regular waist bags!!!!! ) and honestly the only big accessory you need to pull an entire outfit together. they're definitely a must ESPECIALLY if most of your bottoms don't have pockets (heyo, that's me....)

harnesses also help pull an outfit together if you don't feel like putting on all the jewelry or accessories needed for this aesthetic. harnesses alone bring all the detail you need, it just depends on the harness! I highly recommend Thigh and Leg Harnesses, arm and shoulder harnesses, and leather chest harnesses

last but not least YOU NEED WEAPONRY OF COURSE! get yourself a new switchblade, or a prop dagger to carry on your hip! or a blade to hide in your boot. it's up to you if you want your blades to be real or not, all of mine are real! just be mindful of the open carry laws in your state when it comes to REAL long blades. especially swords.

First of!! Im so happy I finally get to live my cute fantasy dream of working at a bookstore while creating content on the side! with me now having a good flow of income AND support from you guys, I’ll be able to have enough funds to buy costumes and equipment I need to create!!

Morning Rosemary challah bread recipe!

This was my first time making challah bread, and it was extremely difficult, but with the right recipe instructions, it came out pretty good! I used this recipe from cooking.nytimes.com, its extremely helpful! I’ll paste the recipe here but if you want any extra tips, check out the website!

Ingredients

1 ½ packages active dry yeast (about 3 1/2 teaspoons)

1 tablespoon plus 1/2 cup sugar

½ cup vegetable oil, more for greasing bowl

5 large eggs

1 tablespoon salt

8 to 8 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Poppy seed sesame seeds (or roesmary!) for sprinkling

PREPARATION

• In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in 1 3/4 cups lukewarm water.
• Whisk oil into yeast, then beat in 4 eggs, one at a time, with remaining sugar and salt. Gradually add flour. When dough holds together, it is ready for kneading. (You can also use a mixer with a dough hook for both mixing and kneading.)
• Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Clean out bowl and grease it, then return dough to bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until almost doubled in size. Dough may also rise in an oven that has been warmed to 150 degrees then turned off. Punch down dough, cover and let rise again in a warm place for another half-hour.
• (This step was a little confusing to me, so I used this video from Pinterest to help me braid my bread! https://pin.it/3VT3uGp ) To make a 6-braid challah, either straight or circular, take half the dough and form it into 6 balls. With your hands, roll each ball into a strand about 12 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Place the 6 in a row, parallel to one another. Pinch the tops of the strands together. Move the outside right strand over 2 strands. Then take the second strand from the left and move it to the far right. Take the outside left strand and move it over 2. Move second strand from the right over to the far left. Start over with the outside right strand. Continue this until all strands are braided. For a straight loaf, tuck ends underneath. For a circular loaf, twist into a circle, pinching ends together. Make a second loaf the same way. Place braided loaves on a greased cookie sheet with at least 2 inches in between.
• Beat remaining egg and brush it on loaves. Either freeze breads or let rise another hour.
• If baking immediately, preheat oven to 375 degrees and brush loaves again. If freezing, remove from freezer 5 hours before baking. Then dip your index finger in the egg wash, then into poppy or sesame seeds and then onto a mound of bread. Continue until bread is decorated with seeds.
• Bake in middle of oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden. Cool loaves on a rack.

My personal recipe add on’s

• To make the bread a lil extra crispy and flakey, I put egg wash on my bread right before I put it in the oven, and 15 minutes before I have to take it out.
• I Sprinkled rosemary, dried onions, salt, and pepper on my challah before putting it in the oven and it was DELICIOUS. I definitely recommend these garnishes 💓

This was definitely a pretty difficult bread, so I don’t have my own personal recipe yet, but I’ll definitely make more of this amazing braided bread in the future! And record it as well!

Princess zelda’s day at the park 🍃

Got my Princess Zelda cosplay in a few days ago, here are a few shots we took🤎 I’ll be posting these tomorrow

so I decided to make a big breakfast today. Because I had the TIME?!

okay. when I woke up this morning. I was STARVING. like I was extremely hungry. I haven't eaten an actual meal in a day and it was starting to affect me. 

so I decided to make myself breakfast. which is something I NEVER do okay? I never have the time to. But now that I quit my job, and just bought some groceries the day before, I was excited to see what I could make with all of this free time. 

so I went all out! I even went to the store to get rice to try and make the BOTW meaty rice balls recipe. and HEY! I think I did pretty damn good!

(eh,, actually. I made a total of 4 rice balls,, but the other ones fell apart. so these are the pretty ones.. BUT AYE they look great right?!)

after cooking my white rice I shaped them into lil' triangles, and wrapped the bacon around them! BUT You HAVE to cross the bacon around the front to keep it tucked, trust me I know. then put them in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes AT 350. Then BOOM. Really simple and really good!

For my asparagus and spinach, I sautéed them (separately) in minced white onion, butter, minced garlic, and Chinese fried chili and oil, and sautéed them to my liking. (10-15 minutes)

Then to top this big ol breakfast off! I decided to make roasted golden potatoes, Italian bread toast, and an over-hard egg. Topped off with bacon bits, leftover from the two other rice balls I fucked up!!

The entire time I really felt like I was cooking for Link!? (How dorky is that?!) but man I wish I could share food through a screen because it was really good.

I definitely recommend spoiling yourself with a big homemade breakfast sometime (when you have the time of course!) It was fun imagining cooking for my childhood hero. It's been a pretty busy, hectic week so I needed this lil bit of fun ♡︎

I quit my full-time job to finally make time for my passion. and I feel absolutely great about it.

Man, may was SO busy for me, and I had SO much fun celebrating my birthday and black fae day! but here’s what I’ve got planned for June⚔️

Monthly update!!

As you all know, black fae day was May 8th, a day before Mother’s Day and a WEEK before my birthday. So it was pretty hectic, but it was the most magical month out of 2021.

My birthday was May 15th, and I finally got to wear my medieval lace velvet dress,]I don’t usually buy really expensive clothes (after all, most of my wardrobe is thrifted or from amazon) but I really deserved it, it was my 21st birthday after all. I had to make it magical

so now that it’s over I can finally focus on myself, my mental health, and my art. And you get a firsthand look at the projects I’ve got planned🖤
