I didn't really shoot many behind the scenes photos while working with Bree - as a working mom (with a 1.5 year old) AND mother to be, her schedule was really busy so worked pretty quickly that day. I did have a lot more images of her though, so I threw in some more for you - some really pretty outtakes, some more candid. The main reason I wanted to make this post though was to share one of the videos I shot.
Basically we took photos non-stop except for a few moments when we got to talking, and I tried to record each of those moments when she started to tell funny stories about her adventures as a BDSM/Kink- minded, polyamorous pregnant new mom.
She told several tales while we shot (and maybe I will get around to editing the videos of the other to post in the future), and all of them speak to this beautiful mindset that Bree has. She is just tremendously curious and open minded. She accepts herself and understands her interests, desires, and curiosities are healthy to explore, and those explorations don't have to stop simply because she is married or a mother, she doesn't have to kill her sense of pleasure or womanhood to take on the roles of wife and mother. I wrote at length last month about my shoot with Bree while she was 8 months pregnant this past December in the mountains not far from her home outside Los Angeles, so I won't repeat it all here. Some folks said they would love to see more of the images though, so I wanted to post some sets for you all.
I wish I got to do more "maternity nude in nature" shoots, as I really love the idea of seeing this thing that transports me in my imagination to the stone age or something. If you think about how much women are told to "take it easy" during pregnancy, how dangerous doing this or eating that will be for the baby, you have to wonder the human race could have survived when we were nomadic hunter gatherers moving from place to place, battling elements and predators... I had a number of friends however, that chose to stay very active during their pregnancies, and said how much better they seemed to feel and how much easier their births were than those women they heard stories from who had tried to "take it easy". This is purely anecdotal, but its seems to me women's bodies are absurdly powerful, and in this patriarchal society we try to deny that. Then I imagine pregnant women in prehistoric times having to walk long distances, gather and prepare food, make clothing and shelters, and I know that thinking has to be false.
Anyhow - with Bree it is particularly fun since we got to make these shots while she spoke at length about squirting and polyamory and meeting men online with fetishes for fucking pregnant women. Hard not to get a lot of enjoyment out of a shoot like this.

This isn't actually a proper Behind the Scenes post. While I got some proper funny images, I didn't shoot any video footage for a proper BTS post (I threw in what little video I did shoot though). However, as the night wound down, and everyone was quite tipsy, Kat Malone and Jordan River wanted to shoot some stuff playing together that was really more in their comfort zone, which meant getting weird with whatever props were handy and drooling saliva or whatever liquids were handy onto one another!
I was trying to capture moments that actually were hot, but actually they were laughing most of the time, mainly because Kat hadn't brought her speculum with her, so they tried to mimic its function with two table spoons with limited success...
I just upload 85 images (and a cute short video) of Kitty Malone and Jordan River that I shot last August when Kitty and I were on our road trip up the West Coast and were staying in Portland. I am not sure how interesting this set will be for viewers who don't do this sort of photography, or who weren't there to experience it like I was. They are essentially flawed photos - i was shooting while rather drunk, so not exactly shot well, and many of the shot include one of the the non-model women who were there that night, and her lack of experience doesn't really hold up to the expertise Kat Malone and Jordan River were bringing to the moment. They are kind of interesting to me though as a record of that contrast, and the way Kat and Jordan tried to work with the other gal to make good images despite her feeling a bit lost in the situation!

I was getting lost in my reverie of home and hiking with models to my secret canyon this time of year, and thought maybe I would just be posting ONLY sets from there, but figured that might not be enough variety for y'all, so I pulled out something reeeally different that I shot last summer while on my road trip with my friend, model Kitty Malone.
When we would hit a big city, we'd stay for several days so that Kat could work with other photographers (she is a full time traveling nude art/erotic model), so I would do my own thing and she would go off to shoots and we'd reconvene for dinner and recount our day's activities while drinking too much whiskey. One day though, she came back from working with Portland photographer Clint Kaster and said he was a fan of my work and had invited us to a little dinner party at his house, along with several other models, including his muse Jordan River, who Kat had worked with the last trip she made to Portland and really adored.
I am pretty shy actually, and since photography is not actually my vocation, I always feel a bit intimidated going into situations where I don't know most of the people and they are all more "in the scene" of this kind of photography, but Kat has a way of encouraging me - somewhat with words but also mixed with whiskey - so I went along to the dinner at Clint's house. Everyone was super nice and chill, and another great model was there. I drank and ate a really well cooked chicken Clint had made, and then all the women started taking their clothes off and moving into Clint's living room... apparently the dinner party was turning into an impromptu photo shoot/ modeling lesson as a couple of Clint's friends were not professional models, but wanted to have some pictures taken, and the other model there, Venus de Sierra, was a professional nude art model instructor (I didn't know such a thing existed, but apparently it does!).
Kat and I were eating and drinking booze in the dining room while this instruction and shoot went on in the living room, but once we finished, Jordan called her in to join her, and she dragged me along. I ran out to the car and grabbed my camera and a prism and came back to to find the gals had climbed on top of Clint's upright piano and he was photographing them. He asked me to join in...
Watching Kat and Jordan work together (especially compared to watching the non-model friends trying to pose for the camera) really drew into sharp focus how much skill one needs to possess to be a great model. I was kind of blown away watching them work together - creating a mood and a vibe (despite Jordan being straight, they totally seemed like lovers in the moment), seamlessly and without much verbal communication creating complex and interesting poses, the conscious understanding of creating drama in their facial expressions, and the thing that MOST stood out to me was how aware they were (or maybe its muscle memory to these pros at this point) of making really beautiful forms with their hands. It was really something to watch!
The effortless complexity of their interactions becomes more apparent in the set I am posting for the $10 set, and then for the $15 BTS set the two girls just got downright kinky... stay tuned!

Ariel Fahey is super fun to hike with. Being from small town Michigan, she is isn't squeamish about the outdoors, is always up for exploring, doesn't mind getting dirty, sunburned, walking barefoot on rough, pokey ground, or getting a bruise or three. Also - her delighted reactions to critters always reminds me of the first time i discovered any of them in nature. We alternated so naturally from relaxing, to exploring, to getting in some serious photo work, and back again.
These days of freedom feel really far away now (this hike was in July 2019)! Ugh!!! Posting this stuff IS a nice break from the turmoil of today, but also makes me miss California and the West Coast so much. I never feel quite so little judgement any place else I go.
Hi folks! I hope everyone is doing well. This year is quite the clusterfuck. I don't know how hopeful I am for a positive re-alignment of society (particularly in the US), but I sure hope people have the energy to demand some change. The constant state of anxiety that the super rich in the USA like all of us peons below them to remain in is tiring. The way we are kept in a state of fear, hate, and poverty really keeps us distracted from the injustice inherent in US society. I am not sure where the right place for me to lay out my entire understanding of how American society functions, but I am pretty sure my captions of my nude photos of my model friends is not the right place for it. This is supposed to be my escape from all that, just as the actual hikes and road trips I go on to make these photos with them was our way to take a break from the constant tension that is US life. Since the death of George Floyd I have been absorbed in all of it, in trying to work on myself and figure out ways I can be more helpful in dismantling the systemic injustice that drives the US economy. I have to come up for air though, and all of you have paid good money to support my work, so I hope getting back to a bunch of posts packed into the end of this month will be a nice break from grappling with all this heavy stuff.

Lots of images of actor Ariel Fahey exploring and sunbathing along one of my favorite stretches of my secret canyon in the Angeles National Forest. I ended up shooting several of my friends in some of the exact spots last summer, many of whom I have already posted, so I wonder if the locations have become familiar to any of you who are just viewing the photos? This is really just a regular hang out spot for us at this point (or it would be if i wasn't stuck in Japan at the moment!).
I had a couple shots in mind that I wanted to try, and some series ( Like "Newds and Newts") that I wanted to get shots of Ariel for, but mostly I just let explore and swim and sunbathe, and just kind of observed and documented! So I guess this set has a lot more sunbathing than I might normally stuff into one post, but she was enjoying soaking up the sun, then getting into the cold creek, then warming up in the sun all over again. Then there is that little cretch of creek where you she could have half her body in the shallow cold water and the other half warming in the sun at the same time. This is actually such a strange feeling - everyone should try it once!

In a normal year right about now i would be really active in looking for good hiking partners to venture off a popular local trail to my secret canyon in the mountains just outside Los Angeles. Instead I am holed up in a farming village in the Japanese countryside with little contact of any kind with other people. All these shoots I did last spring and summer are really making me homesick now, so I hope you don't mind indulging me as i share some more of them...
I love shooting with Ariel Fahey - she has such a jubilant, emotive face, not to mention pert, shapely boobs! She is a joy to watch from behind the lens. On top of that she is just a FUN person to be around - a curious mind that loves to learn (and open to teaching as well), a quick wit, and the right dose of humbleness. She is always up for adventure, so I knew she would really appreciate the secret canyon. Thus this particular hike was so much fun, and we really got to bond as proper friends (this was only the second time I had met Ariel). The day was also really productive - I ended up with too many photos in too many locations that I really liked, so I will probably continue posting images and videos from this hike into next month as well...

That is one of my favorite things - to take someone to see the tallest trees on Earth for their first time, and see that expression of actual awe...

Its amazing that Kitty Malone and I make any sultry or graceful images of her with as much as goof around. I am always insanely happy in the Redwoods, so it was particularly hard to focus with Kitty while we hiked on an abandoned trail in the heart of Prairie Creek Redwoods in Redwoods National Park last August. I didn't shoot a lot of video, or even many photos, really because we were just taking in the scenery, hunting for titan redwoods, climbing around, and just being stupid and laughing.
I think the video shows a lot of Kitty laughing because of this rapport we have (It also shows a lot of her ass, because I enjoy watching her ass move), but also note that I put no music on this video - turn up the volume and hear the nothingness - one unusual thing about the Redwoods is that, despite the temperate weather and immense amount of greenery, the redwood forest is one of the quietest forest settings I have ever encountered in the world - no buzz of insects, or birds chirping, very little rustle of leaves in the wind. It is strangely VERY silent in a way that is at once unnerving and meditative...
Also - since you are BTS patrons, I will reveal the exact location of this abandoned trail in case you ever end up going to Redwoods National Park. Its not a massive secret, in fact there is a website that shows a map to this spot (although I actually stumbled onto this trail by accident the first time I walked it!), as well as to other redwood titans. Even though this was actually the 5th time I shot a nude in the redwoods, this shoot with Kitty Malone was the first time I got to try and do a proper shoot with a proper model (I did one set of quickie impromptu topless photos with Cacia Zoo, but otherwise all the other times I shot were with non-models).
I was able to add to my Treehugger series, though I this time I selected a tree not so much for its girth, but for its character. The so-called "Knotty Lady" is not the biggest tree on that trail by any means, but it always stands out to me as beautiful due to its endless large burls protruding all the way up its trunk (hence the nickname). Each redwood has such a unique look that gives them their own character. I thought the Knotty Lady was good to pair with Kitty since she is a pretty naughty lady herself...
I love the contrast between the sea of green created by the understory of massive sword ferns and the human skin tone of a body or two ( I hope I can come back with more than one model next time!). This forest truly epitomizes the original theme of my nude photography work - that feeling of, as a human, being dwarfed by that grandeur of nature, rather than feeling that humanity is able to contain nature.

After our initial stay in San Francisco for a few days, the first big stop for me and Kitty Malone on our three week road trip up and down the West Coast last summer was in Humboldt Country, home of weed, cows, dramatic plunging coastal cliffs, and the tallest trees in the world, the Coast Redwood.
Its one of my favorite places on Earth. I always want to take beautiful photos of models with those amazing trees. Unfortunately its really difficult! Trying to capture the height of those trees on their own is insanely challenging (National Geographic spent a shit ton of money and took a team of people a long time to accomplish taking a photo of a redwood titan), and trying to show their scale in relation to a human body (and still really make it a beautiful image of a human body), is even harder. I tend to do these trips wrong - its hard to get a person to commit to just driving to the Redwoods and hanging out there for several weeks camping while i try to experiment and figure out how I can do this. Instead i make this quick trips just passing through, with only a couple hours or a day or two to do a couple shoots. Shooting the redwoods is hard. The light is low, the contrast between light and shadow is harsh, and the trees are just TOO damn big. The struggle continues for me. Also I have to remember NOT to go in the summer next time - its very pleasant there, but there is far less mist and fog, elements that really make the redwoods have that mystic feeling I am after.
All that said, this time around I was rushing through the redwoods with Kitty! She is always a hoot and we had a great hike on an abandoned trail we had completely to ourselves the whole afternoon in one of my favorite parts of the redwoods. Kitty is tall (at least my height), and statuesque, so it was nice to add her to my slowly growing series of nudes with redwoods.
Whenever I photograph a person in the redwoods though, I can't just use the trees as a backdrop. They always become the star. The person I am shooting is just there for scale in a sense, to really be dwarfed by the grandeur of those ancient trees. This means I shoot hardly any close ups (even the image above was really cropped in from the actual composition)! I hope you will forgive me this indulgence, even though many of you are here to see the human body, but when shooting those trees they are hard for me to ignore!
Bree is quite an interesting human for sure! Her demeanor makes her appear very... "normal" for lack of a better word, but so much of what comes out of her mouth so casually would be shocking to most people. She is an advocate for mothers' sexuality - encouraging women who are pregnant, or have given birth, not to let their sensuality and sexual identity be smothered by child rearing, but instead embracing being sexual/horny/kinky even when caring for small children. She and her partner are also polyamorous, and she is of late really exploring BDSM as well as dedicating time to erotic/kink modeling. She promotes all these lifestyle philosophies in interviews and writings while working a regular job and caring for her child (now 2 children as of a few months ago). Anyhow - we have chatted a lot online since before she got pregnant the second time, always trying to schedule a time to do a shoot, but ended up never lining something up until this past December, when she was 8 months into her pregnancy, so we tried to keep the shoot simple - driving into the mountains relatively close to where she lived and parking near a campground and walking into the forest to find places to shoot. We talked a lot while we shot - she is like an open book, spilling out stories of men on dating apps with pregnant women sexual fetishes, meeting up with a man who professionally induces female orgasms (it was a successful session for her), and pondering about the attraction to ecofetishism (which led to her making out with a tree in one sequence of our shoot).
I haven't ever posted any of my maternity nude shoots - I don't if that is something people are interested in at all, but maybe I will post this whole shoot sometime and see if it makes any of you patrons cancel your memberships! Hah!

I have included images from just before, during, and also after the shoot (we went out to eat, and then back to her place to hang and smoke weed and talk for hours), but I think the main point of this set is the video, since Cacia is always more interested in moving, in acting with her body in motion, than in POSING.
I edited together a small bit of the footage I recorded for Cacia Zoo while I watched her do her thing. She just needed to MOVE. Its not really dancing, and it feels strangely private even though its totally performative. At times its almost silly, and other moments becomes hypnotic. Also - the music is composed and performed by Cacia herself.

Cacia Zoo and I don't even have to speak when we shoot anymore. We head off toward a location and the instant i see something I like and pull my bag from my shoulder, Cacia responds intuitively and begins disrobing as she searches the environment scheming how she can use it. She knows what she wants to do, she knows what I need, I try to find interesting angles given what I think she will do.
For me, this part of the shoot was just getting her in some wildflowers - its kind of a trope to shoot images of women nude, partially obscured by out of focus wildflowers. I see it all the time, and I like it despite it being done many times, but until the last few years I had never even tried it, and so I have been trying to catch up. Despite shooting Cacia dozens of times over the last 6 years i had never done it with her. So when we were driving up the Angeles Crest Highway and I saw those abundant yellow flowers everywhere in the mountains, I knew this was my chance.
By the way, this set is named after these yellow flowers, called Spanish Broom. They are actually an invasive species and should not be in California, and are overrunning the flora of the local mountains outside Los Angeles. Usually that kind of thing is so sad to me, but these plants make such abundant, vivid flowers that smell intensely sweet and make the hiking trails a better experience in the spring and early summer here, so I give them a partial pass. covered in huge dew drops from all the mist in the air, the flowers made for a really nice environment to capture images of my friend.

Even though Cacia Zoo lives in NYC, I like that when she comes to LA for a visit, its usually for like 2 months! Last May she did just that, and she would call me up every 3 weeks or so when she needed a dose of nature (its seems she spent the rest of her time at her friend's dope house in Silver Lake writing and recording music, hitting up comedy club open mics, and running around the city to dance and party). I am always happy to oblige when it comes to escaping the city.
The first time we went hiking though, it was still the late spring, and to her consternation the mountains were wet and cold. I was in heaven, since I know that once spring ends, it will be hot and dry till November, but she left NYC to experience warm sunny weather. Instead I drove her up into misty mountains where the temps were plunging the higher went (by the time we finished the shoot it was around 40°F). It hardly mattered though because shooting photos of her is how we met, how our friendship grew, and now its our way of checking in and getting reacquainted after long periods apart. There is a never a dull moment with Cacia...
Trying to plan for next month's content. I have been in Japan almost two months now, and am basically turning into a farmer. I am not sure how I feel about it! Its pretty relaxing here and far removed from the insanity in the U.S. I am anxious to return to my life in L.A. as I miss SO many things (you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get PROPER bread in Japan! Also please send me some tacos, or dim sum, or pho, or albolo polo! Ok food is just better in LA than anywhere), but I especially miss my community of photographer and model friends and the freedom they embrace, a freedom made possible by the California spirit (I was going to say American spirit, but it seems huge swathes of the US seem content to lapse into being ruled by a corporate oligarchy that doesn't care whether they live or die).
Anyhow, you probably don't want to hear all these rambling thoughts. The point is I am looking back fondly at so many shoots done with friends last year out in nature. Some of my dearest model friends and I really went for it and explored a lot and made so many images in some of my favorite places from the local mountains outside the city, all the way up to Washington state. I have not had time to finish editing some, or post many. So, as the spring is popping in LA, and I am sad to be missing all the potential for adventure (not that I could actually do it if I was there with them now, in this strange new world), I am gonna be focusing a bunch of nature shoots with models I consider dear friends and talk to (or video chat with) regularly even while I am far away. Missing Cacia Zoo, Ariel Fahey, and Kitty Malone (and California) a lot right about now!

Only this moment as I type this did I realize that this month's additions to the Memory Vault (for my $20 and above subscribers) both take place in my bedroom, on the corner where I have this gaudy chair my aunt forced me to take from my grandparents' house when my grandfather died. I told her I didn't want the chair, it didn't fit with the aesthetic of our house, but she kept pressing me like a used car salesman. In front of my dad and some cousins I told her that maybe I could take it to use as a prop for a shoot I had in mind with a naked woman squatting on a chair in the middle of the desert at sunset, pissing off a chair onto the parched desert Earth. I was trying to shock her into leaving me alone, but she was so desperate to get rid of most of the stuff she had bought for the house she rented my grandparents the last six month of my grandfather's life that she was like "Great! That sounds awesome! This chair will be perfect for that!" and forced the chair into my hands. I had no more excuses not to take and packed the thing into the trunk of my car.
I still haven't made that shoot happen, but I am holding on to that chair until I do. In the meantime it has been a good prop piece for the trippy set I put up in my bedroom to shoot in the dark, and, as it turns out, its quite an appropriate piece for a dreamy femme soft bondage shoot...

The second set I posted was a memory that my friend Jess reminded me of from way back in 2016 when she and I went hiking to my secret canyon. The freedom of that place (since no one goes there) is therapeutic. A place to disconnect and lose one's sense of shame, roam free, soak up some rays, and revert to as childlike a state as one can manage in an afternoon. Jess was in particular need of just that at the time, and the secret canyon provided, as always. This wasn't so much of a shoot as a therapy session, but I had a point and shoot with me and shot a lot of documentation and videos, and I realized I had never posted it before after all this time!

I remember that Jess was going through a tough time in life, with a relationship falling apart, and was quite down and anxious. I told her that maybe a hike would do some good. In the end I think it did help. I wish that I had been able to hike with her more often though - life throws some of us so many curveballs! Each time we met up for a nature adventure though, Jess has appreciated the solitude so much, the feel of the rocks and dirt and icy water on her skin, not to mentioned the loss of cellular service.
Honestly I went on this hike more to see that smile than to make pretty photos!

Yesterday my friend Jess posted a picture I shot of her 4 years ago, from the first time we hiked to my secret canyon together for a day of romping around in the Angeles National Forest. This was only maybe the third time I had brought a friend She was commenting on how different that 4/20 was from this year's 4/20 - how strange LA life has become in the last 2 months!
I was looking through the archive and realised I never actually posted the images from this very impromptu hike - I hesitate to refer to it as a "shoot", really we were just out there acting like little feral kids - swinging on trees, kissing frogs, getting dirty, watching newts fornicate, balancing on logs, sunning our junk, smoking weed, naked outdoor yoga, bathing in the creek - I didn't even have my proper camera with me, but i got some cute images captures Jess at play with my iPhone and my favorite point-and-shoot digital. I always want to present very different stuff in my posts for any given month, so this full hippie, non-model playing in the wilderness is almost as far as my work gets from the last sets I posted with professional fetish models in my house! There is a little "behind the scenes" imagery here, and the video certainly shows what that fruit play sequence was really like, but most of the images here are just overflow and extra goodies that didn't fit into the other sets I am posting from this shoot at my house last summer with Dahlia Datura and Kitty Malone.
It was pretty interesting to observe the power dynamic shifting back and forth as each of these women took turns on top. Anyway, I am not gonna babble on about this shoot - just enjoy the footage!

There is a loose knit community that I have fallen into since starting to post images of nudes in nature on Instagram 8 years ago. A network of models and photographers both locally and nationally that find one another and communicate through tags, likes, comments and DMs on the app. Its been really fascinating to meet people i might not have ever come in contact with otherwise, create with them, and sometimes build true, caring friendships with. That has been one of the most unexpected rewards of focusing my personal instagram account mainly on this relatively small aspect of my life (I actually spend little of my time doing this project).
Kitty Malone had been staying with me for over a week while on the LA leg of a long modeling tour she arranged for herself last summer (she usually stay with me in LA, so I get to shoot her in trade for a bed to crash in, which is good since I can't afford her rates!). One morning, my good photographer buddy, Moss, came over with a modeling he and I had shot together before, and who he was working on a whole book with, Dahlia Datura. Dahlia and Kitty had never met, but Moss and I had known them both and thought their attitudes and interests and boundaries would mesh well for a shoot.
They met in my living room and we went right upstairs to get to work. Moss and I basically just observed and gave a few suggestions of scenarios, and let Dahlia and Kitty get to know one another by modeling together. We just followed where it went...
I edited and saved out a LOT of images from this shoot, so I am making large sets for each tier - I am basically just breaking it up by each part of the shoot, so if you want to see ALL of what happened, consider upgrading to $20 and download alllllll of it (including BTS videos).
Sorry I haven't posted yet this month! Wow. I knew this would be an unusual month in my life, what with leaving to Japan to begin transitioning my life to spending half my time there. We flew out of LA on March 11, just about 4 days before the city went into lockdown. Once in Japan, on top of trying to get settled in there and take care of basic things, like setting up our house and figuring out ways to make it livable, we also had to unexpectedly deal with lots of shit that was unforeseen JUST IN CASE, as well as unexpected concerns with our rental house in LA. At the end of February I had time to make such a good plan for what to post here for you good folks, but March left us all bewildered and I went into the new month with no idea where I wanted to go next with most Patreon posts!
I am just going to take this day by day from here on out, not having much sense of what the future holds, just like a lot of us are feeling about the whole of our lives.
I have been posting a few pics on my instagram from a shoot I did last summer with Kitty Malone and Dahlia Datura. Instagram deleted one of the shots I tried to post, which I felt was pretty tame compared to the rest of the set. So I guess some of you folks (especially in the $20+ tiers) will be the only ones to get a sense of what this shoot was really like! Given that it is two models playing together minutes after meeting for the first time, it seems a particularly poignant reminder of how much our world has turned upside down over the last 45 days...

I tried to select some outtakes from the shoot that caught Steph Sinn being her true playful self - smiling, laughing, experimenting with the environment, goofing around. The BTS video probably captures it better than any stills can though - turn the sound on to hear her cracking a joke about the kids who were watching us after a family rolled up to the pull off we had parked at and discovered us working. I was seriously distracted by them, but she wasn't phased a bit. She kept right on flowing and enjoying doing her thing. Steph is definitely a true naturist and committed to breaking down folks' shame of the naked body.
The video also has a good bit of video for my ongoing "Hindsight" walking butts video series. I love the butts of beauties walking in snow the best, since they seem the most challenging environments to be wandering around naked (though actually EACH of the women I shot in snow commented on how warm they actually felt, to their surprise)...
