Hi!

We pick up the story at a very special point for me :) First of all, sorry for not having updated a lot of material these past weeks, but the publication of the comic is going really well! I'm re-formatting the pages to work like a traditional comic book and I can't believe we've reached over 224 pages! 🥳

With them, the first season of Eki in the clouds comes to an end. But I already have new adventures in mind for a second season, because we'll have Eki for a long time! 

Don't hesitate to write, ask questions and suggest anything you can think of. The good thing about this platform is that it allows us to communicate easily and I would love to know your opinion about this story that is being so important for me.

¡Hola!

Retomamos la historia en un punto muy especial para mí :) Ante todo, disculpad por no haber subido mucho material estas pasadas semanas. ¡Pero la publicación del cómic va viento en popa! Estoy dando un nuevo formato a las páginas para que funcione como un comic book tradicional y ¡no me puedo creer que hayamos llegado a más de 224 páginas! 🥳

Con ellas, la primera temporada de Eki en las nubes llega a su fin. Pero ya tengo en mente nuevas aventuras para una segunda temporada, porque ¡tendremos Eki para rato! 

No dudéis en escribir, preguntar y sugerir todo lo que se os ocurra. Lo bueno de esta plataforma es que nos permite comunicarnos con facilidad y me encantaría saber vuestra opinión sobre esta historia que está siendo tan importante para mí.

I keep adapting the pages to comic book format and I'm happy with the result! :)

In the meantime, I'm preparing this cute version of Mr. Otsoa (or Mr. Bunny? xD). Because he's a serious gentleman, but mischievous hahaha.

My friends, I'm alive!

How's it going, I'm excited and scared in equal parts! I was able to meet with my editor this week and it seems to be going well :)

It's still too early to say anything, but I'm compiling all the material and putting together a mock-up to see how Eki will look on paper, it's hard to believe that we've already done more than 150 pages!!!!

I'm excited to close the details of the work, as I still don't know exactly how much material will fit in this first volume. But I've decided to redraw some small scenes I wasn't very happy with. In images an example :P

Soon I'll share with you Eki's new episode, these days have been crazy, THANK YOU for being there!

¡Amigos, estoy vivo!

¿Qué tal os va todo? ¡Yo ilusionado y acojonado a partes iguales! He podido reunirme con mi editor esta semana y parece que la cosa marcha bien :)

Aún es pronto para decir nada, pero estoy recopilando todo el material y montando una maqueta para ver cómo se vería Eki en papel. ¡¡Parece mentira que ya llevemos hechas más de 150 páginas!!

Estoy entusiasmado por ir cerrando los detalles de la obra, pues aún no sé con exactitud el material que cabrá en este primer tomo. Pero he decido redibujar alguna pequeña escena con la que no estaba muy conforme. En imágenes un ejemplo :P

Pronto os compartiré el nuevo episodio de Eki, que estos días están siendo una locura. ¡GRACIAS por estar ahí!

A while ago I introduced you to a new blond character named Eder and now I'm trying out another daddy who might fit into the pages of the comic.

And these are not just tests. They are characters that I think could fit in the future, in the second or third season of the comic that I'm already thinking about in my mind.

Happy New... Project?

Hello, friends!
I've been a bit anxious for a few days. I've received a very interesting proposal and I'm a nervous wreck!
It seems that the possibility of Eki's adventures being printed on paper is closer than ever!
That's why I'm less active these days... Everything is still up in the air and I don't want to make any false steps. I have to weigh up the pros and cons, clarify and close some issues...
To see that everything is favourable for the future of Eki and his friends ❤

I am very happy that these opportunities arise! Surely they wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the support you give me and I needed to tell you about it!
Eki is going to start the year full of new and even more exciting adventures! And I hope you will still be there to see him evolve 😊
We'll see how everything progresses! You'll be the first to know about it.

Llevo unos días algo inquieto. He recibido una propuesta muy interesante y estoy hecho un manojo de nervios!
Parece que la posibilidad de que las aventuras de Eki salgan impresas en papel está más cerca que nunca!
Es por eso por lo que estoy menos activo estos días... Aún está todo en el aire y no quiero dar ningún paso en falso. Tengo que sopesar pros y contras, aclarar y cerrar algunos temas...
Ver que todo es favorable para el futuro de Eki y sus amigos ❤

Simplemente deciros que estoy muy contento de que surjan estas oportunidades! Seguramente no serían posibles si no fuera por el apoyo que me brindáis y necesitaba contároslo!
Eki va a empezar el año cargado de nuevas aventuras aún más emocionantes! Y espero que sigáis ahí para verle evolucionar 😊

Puede que para muchxs de vosotrxs la historia avance despacio, pero para mí es un milagro que un proyecto tan personal para el que saco tiempo de donde puedo, llegue ya al capítulo 11 con casi 280 viñetas dibujadas.

Se viene un capítulo emotivo, para el que he querido preparar una paleta de color acorde al tono de la historia. Casi puedo ver los fondos de la serie de los 90 de Sailor Moon en esos colores :)

Maybe for many of you the story is progressing slowly, but for me it's a miracle that such a personal project, for which I find time wherever I can, has already reached chapter 11 with almost 280 vignettes drawn.

An emotional chapter is coming, for which I wanted to prepare a colour palette according to the tone of the story. I can almost see the backgrounds of the 90's Sailor Moon series in those colours :)

Can you already imagine how it will go on?

UPDATE 2: I have changed the cartoon in which the children attack Nerea because I didn't like it... And finally comes one of the moments I'm most excited to draw! 😍Eki, help her in the name of the Moon! 

Some short stories? / ¿Algunas historias cortas?

I've been thinking for some time about doing single chapters to tell alternative stories that are not linked to the main plot of the comic. Small spin-offs that would tell horror stories, fantasy or whatever with Eki and his friends. Always with his characteristic humour and spicy moments.

Of course, this would delay the publication of the main story... So, I want to know your opinion, do you like the idea or do you prefer to focus on the main story?

Llevo tiempo pensando en hacer capítulos sueltos para contar historias alternativas que no vayan unidas a la trama principal del cómic. Pequeños spin-off que contasen historias de terror, fantasía o lo que se tercie con Eki y sus amigos. Siempre con su característico humor y momentos picantes.

Help me get dressed

I'm back! And as I continue the story of the comic, I want to add a new design to Batman's family! Remember when Eki and Mr. Otsoa appeared as Robin and Batman? Well, now it's Zor's turn. Who do you think it will be? Different versions of the costumes are coming :)

UPDATE 1: Selina Kyle is characterised as a somewhat ambiguous character, oscillating between good and evil in pursuit of her own interests. I think Zor shares certain similarities with the cat woman.

¡Estoy de vuelta! Y mientras continúo la historia del cómic, quiero añadir un nuevo diseño a la familia de Batman! Os acordáis que Eki y el Sr. Otsoa aparecieron como Robin y Batman? Bien, pues ahora es el turno de Zor. ¿Quién creéis que será? Se vienen distintas versiones del vestuario :)

ACTUALIZACIÓN 1: Selina Kyle se caracteriza por ser un personaje algo ambiguo, que oscila entre el bien y el mal siguiendo sus propios intereses. Creo que Zor comparte ciertas similitudes con la mujer gata.

Kemen

Kemen means "courage/impulse" in Basque. He is a self-confident and very direct boy. He doesn't like people who appear weak, but he is all armour.

Sometimes he doesn't measure the impact his words can have, so people often take him for someone arrogant and somewhat superficial.

Kemen significa "valor/impulso" en euskera. Es un chico seguro de sí mismo y muy directo. No le gusta la gente que se muestra débil, pero es todo una coraza.

A veces no mide mucho el impacto que pueden tener sus palabras, por lo que la gente suele tomarlo por alguien arrogante y algo superficial.

Adei

Adei means "respect/kindness" in Basque, representing unwavering friendship and unconditional support for Eki.

He is an intelligent, forward-thinking and very cheerful boy. He fills those around him with energy, although sometimes his impulsiveness plays tricks on him.

Es un chico inteligente, echado para adelante y muy alegre. Llena de energía a los que tiene alrededor, aunque, a veces, su impulsividad le juega malas pasadas.

Eki wants revenge :P

Here I need your help: Which version of the last page do you like best? I think the flowers represent very well the awakening that Eki feels :) don't you think?

UPDATE 1: I think that now the symbolism of the flowers fits perfectly with what I wanted to say :) The story takes a little twist 😮 Where will this lead us to? 

UPDATE 2: It is not the first time that Eki has been gripped by anxiety and feels as if he is drowning. I think that's the best metaphor I can use to illustrate this feeling... What's the matter with Eki?

UPDATE 3: I can't wait to show you where this is going. I already know what the end of the first season will be and maybe, when I finish it, it will be time to put it on paper. In the meantime, I'm really enjoying the journey, improvising the story to the climax, reflecting personal experiences and feelings that will surely be familiar to you.

UPDATE 4: We have reached the end of the episode. Sometimes things don't happen the way we expect them to. Where do you think this situation will lead? We can all identify with Eki, but I'm sure we've all been Zor for someone...

Aquí necesito vuestra ayuda: ¿Qué versión de la última página os gusta más? Creo que las flores representan muy bien el despertar que siente Eki :) ¿no os parece?

ACTUALIZACIÓN 1: Creo que ahora la simbología de las flores encaja perfectamente con lo que quería contar :) La historia da un pequeño giro 😮 ¿A dónde nos llevará esto?

ACTUALIZACIÓN 2: No es la primera vez que la ansiedad se apodera de Eki y siente que se ahoga. Creo que es la mejor metáfora que puedo utilizar para ilustrar este sentimiento... ¿Os pasa? ¿Qué le pasa a Eki?

ACTUALIZACIÓN 3: Estoy deseando mostraros adónde va a llegar esto. Ya sé cuál será el final de la primera temporada y puede que, cuando la acabe, sea momento para llevarla al papel. Mientras tanto estoy disfrutando mucho del camino, improvisando la historia hasta llegar al culmen, reflejando vivencias y sentimientos personales que seguramente os serán familiares.

ACTUALIZACIÓN 4: Llegamos al final del episodio. A veces las cosas no suceden como esperamos... ¿a dónde creéis que llevará esta situación? Todos nos podemos identificar con Eki, pero seguro que también hemos sido Zor para alguien...

Even more so in these troubled times when we seem to be taking steps backwards.

Quería dibujar a Eki con el outfit que llevé ayer el día de la manifestación por el Orgullo. Y me ha parecido un momento perfecto para gritar públicamente que aún necesitamos visibilizar la diversidad de SER y AMAR como queramos!!

Dreaming of... a comic book?

It's hard to believe that I've been drawing Eki's stories for almost two years now. Even I didn't believe I was capable of carrying out a project of this magnitude that, little by little, is taking shape and colour. And all, in part, thanks to your support!

I can't invest as much time in the comic as I'd like to, as I have another job that keeps me busy 8 hours a day... But I hope that Eki and his friends will appear on paper one day :)

That's why I want to show you this little mock-up of how the first chapter would look like in comic book format.

What do you think, would you get a copy of Eki in the clouds? ^^

Parece mentira que ya lleve casi dos años dibujando las historias de Eki. Ni yo mismo me creía capaz de poder sacar adelante un proyecto de esta embergadura que, poco a poco, va tomando forma y color. Y todo, en parte, ¡gracias a vuestro apoyo!

No puedo invertir en el cómic todo el tiempo que me gustaría, ya que tengo otro trabajo que me mantiene ocupado 8h al día... Pero tengo la esperanza de que Eki y sus amigos aparezcan en papel algún día :)
