Lost with Hannah Video #1

I hope you're having a wonderful day, this video wasn't planned - it just kind of came about from some footage I got when I was testing out my new camera gimbal and some different lenses. Let me know if you like this type of relaxing content and the talking format, if it does well I'm thinking of making more like this with different outfits, nature scenery and quiet vocals/whispering? Just some thoughts. Let me know, any feedback is appreciated=)

This hot spring is only good during the morning.

This was right as the sun was coming up, around 6 am, it was perfectly still, lots of steam coming off the spring and the breeze was very chilly so it was a very nice pool to warm up in at dawn. I camped up the bank from here and revisited the spring during the afternoon and unfortunately it was quite murky and not nearly as magical. I'd highly recommend visiting early morning for best soaking=)

Yoga pants and river fishing, is that a thing?

Having not had much luck on the lake, I'm thinking of trying this river out instead. A kayak would be nice as well, would need to find a calm bend in the river. Any favorite spots along I80?

Desert hot springs tend to be my favorite these days, any guesses why?

What types of hot springs are your favorite? This one is out in the middle of nowhere, one of the least populated ones I've visited. A little weird with some bathtubs plopped down in nature, but I am never one to judge and was very happy to enjoy some peace and solitude.

Am I Doing This Right?

Trying to look cute and sexy but failing miserably - can't take myself too seriously=) Nevertheless, thoroughly enjoyed this little hot spring hidden in plain sight. I'm on my way to another one this week and hoping to catch some beautiful morning footage so don't miss it! I'm not great at getting dawn footage because I'm not the morning bird but sometimes morning light is the best so I'm working on it! 360 footage is also in the works, any thoughts on a first 360 video? I'm juggling some ideas on the first one, can't wait to show you!! Xoxo! Hannah

Would You Follow Me into the Mine?

This was by far one of my more daring adventures to date! I did plenty of research ahead of time to ensure this was a fairly safe mine to enter, granted I can't account for unanticipated seismic activity but overall it was very successful and I would certainly return! Have you done any mine exploration, would you consider doing so? There's a cave near by that dates back to prehistoric times that I'd love to visit, maybe I'll do some more cave exploring soon!

Would you have taken a dip in these waterfalls too?

This is one of my favorite adventures to date, waterfalls are magical and on this adventure I got to see three amazing ones. What’s great is that this trail will allow you to see 13 different waterfalls within only a few days. I didn’t have the time to hit all 13 of them, but I will be back and I plan on seeing them all!

Here is the link:

https://activenorcal.com/13-waterfalls-in-one-weekend-northern-californias-world-famous-waterfall-loop/

I saw Middle McCloud falls, Burney Falls, and Potem Falls. They were all beautiful and some of the most amazing waterfalls I’ve ever seen. If you’re traveling in an RV, truck camper or off road home, this whole trip is easily doable in one weekend and makes for a great trip with friends or by yourself. You don’t need anything special to access them and there’s plenty of camping spots along the way. While you’re in the area there’s tons of hiking and rock climbing/bouldering spots as well. I hiked here and the views at the top are incredible, low traffic and some great up-hill cardio:

Shasta lake is in this area as well so if you have a boat or are interesting in boating – this is the spot. The closest major town is Redding so if you’re not traveling by RV/van/truck camper, it’s close enough to stay in the city  and then venture out during the day.

River Oasis

I’ve found that I feel rejuvenated after swimming in lakes and rivers. The water is nearly always very cold, which at first seems uninviting but my body often adjusts. I’ve read a lot about cold water plunges and swimming in the wild. Increased circulation and boosts to your immune system seem to be two of the more common benefits, it’s shocking to my body at first but provides me a rush of endorphins and I feel alive. Being warm flushes your body, bringing blood to the surface but then plunging into cold water sends that blood to the organs. This is why some people spend time in saunas and then plunge into cold water. Have you ever tried a cold water plunge? What was your experience?

Some of the best lakes are hidden lakes…

I came across this beautiful little lake in the mountains by accident, I tend to take roads that are off the beaten path and this one looked promising. The road winds through the canyon, surrounded by golden aspens and mountain peaks that tower above you. The best time of year to visit is fall before the leaves drop for the winter. The road leads you down to a small lake, surrounded by mountains and perfect for fishing. If you keep following the road it comes up to an off road path that winds around a smaller bog/pond area that is perfect for picnicking, reading, or relaxing. Further up you’ll find hiking trails all through the canyon.

Soak and relax with me, so many hot spring pools!

These hot springs are special because they are so unique. There are at least five different pools to choose from and most of them boast beautiful mountain views and are formed from an incredible stone called travertine which is where these hot springs get their name. Travertine is a unique limestone formed by mineral rich underground springs. These pools are more well known so you may find yourself with company. I’d recommend going on off months, during the week days, and during the evening when you can enjoy a star gaze while you soak. While some of my previous hot spring visits are to more remote locations that are more difficult to access, these are quite easy to get to so if you don’t have an off road vehicle or home, you’ll still be able to enjoy them. There’s a short dirt road but no steep climbs, rock crawling, or off road vehicle necessary.

If you’re looking for a private and remote hot spring location…

This was one of my first hot spring experiences! Set back in the hills, this hot spring is pretty private compared to many hot springs I’ve seen. It’s located right off a river, built up above it with a beautiful overlook of the mountains. It’s especially magical when you visit after it’s just snowed. You can enjoy laying back, taking in nature with the sounds of the river below. I would suggest going early winter if you want a more private, but be wary after any deep snow accumulation. There’s some steep OHV climbs and potential of getting stuck so don’t go alone! Always be sure to pack it in and pack it out, no evidence left behind. There’s two or three pools and the natural tributaries are quite interesting. I’ve also read that during summer months its fun to kayak to this location, however I have heard its busier during these times of the year and I prefer a more private visit.

Join me, a trip back in time!

I love a historical playground! Exploring a new place while also learning about some of California’s first gold settlers makes it even better. This ghost town is located in Bodie, California. Only 5% still stands today due to harsh elements and fire but what is left is truly magical. It’s worth a trip if you’re nearby, you won’t regret it. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting in your off road vehicle, I recommend checking out the off road trail below that I took in which also boasts some great historical sites along the way.
