Is The Doctor In Today

My dear friends,

I've been reorganizing my creative space and giving it a full makeover as I prepare to turn it into the pre-production studio for the album. In the process of cleansing, I remembered this song. This recording is from back in the Publisher era, when they would request different arrangements or recordings of songs to fit their pitching needs for film and TV. I wanted to share it with you all because it was never released, though, I've always felt it showed a color of the song that was missed in the original recording.

Your Exclusive Lady Moon T- Shirt

My Dear Owls,

I am so happy to share the design for your T-shirt. 

After pondering back and forth for a while, I showed Casey a sketch I'd done of Alice on the front of my journal. We were both so fond of the sketch that we decided it should be the first exclusive Patron shirt. 

It's important to me that every piece of artwork we create for you is special and rare. With that in mind, we've decided to limit this particular shirt to the first 100 Patrons. 

We're currently researching shirt companies and comparing prices. Our hope is to have them made and delivered to your door step before Christmas.  

So be on the look out in your inbox for a questionnaire asking for your shirt size and a good mailing address.

The SHEL Attic Sale is now LIVE

Dear Owls, 

It took longer than I expected, but I have finally managed to photograph and upload all the items for the SHEL memorabilia sale. I'm so excited to share these treasures with my owls first, before anyone else. All owls will have the store to themselves until this Saturday, at which point I will share the link with SHEL fans on all platforms.

Items to note: 

- The best buy in this sale is the Out of Print Boxset.  I put together ten boxsets with all but one of the out of print albums. The one missing is 'The Edge', (I only found five copies of that one in the attic, they're available individually if you want to complete the collection).

- If you're looking for items that chronicle my personal history, my very first solo album and the poster from my first CD release show are listed. 

- There are also two vintage SHEL T's from 2005! They're so nicely worn in. Look for the Jack Box T-shirts, one Yellow adult size, and one red kid size.  

It was crazy to realize how much of our own art and design we've done over the years... I designed the little Jack Box for that shirt when I was a teen!

There are so many treasures listed and it makes me incredibly happy to think of them going to good homes. I feel like I've been clearing my head and my heart while I've been clearing that attic. Letting go and making space for new art and stories.

Thank you for your patience and support. I will also be doing a special live show, as well as sharing some of the history of the band this Saturday on SHEL's Facebook and Instagram.

Studio Update 4

After consulting with three different producers, I've made two budgets and am feeling confident about moving forward with studio gear. 

Preparing to sell a few SHEL treasures to raise additional money.

I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek at a rough mix of another of the four doll songs on the upcoming SHEL album. 

It was actually the minimal approach to production and the timbre of this particular song that helped bring the vision of a Lady Moon album into focus. 

I wrote this with my mentor Paul Kennerley, who has been like a second father to me. It's his voice overlayed on the outro.

Thanks to dad, I now have a space to start building my small studio. 

We have 8 finished songs on guitar.

Hello Friends,

I recently went through hundreds of iphone memos from the last two years that the band and I spent constructing Alice. These are the pivotal creative break throughs that lead to the finished song, they're very rough, but I wanted to share the evolution with you. 

The song was actually canned until I rediscovered it one night at my friends studio and realized that it was a critical part of the story that my sisters and I have lived. 

I'll post a sneak peak of the current version as well.

My First Official Interview as Lady Moon

I am touched by the intentionality of the interviewer, Michael Eck, and so pleased that he understood the heart behind what I'm working to create.  He also did a fine job capturing the explanation behind the moniker :)

Don't Wanna Be A God

Owls, this is a top secret moment. I wrote this song with Tim Myers (Previously of One Republic) and we recorded it the same day. At one point I was thinking of releasing it as a single for Lady Moon, but it might be a bit bombastic for the brand. What do you guys think? Tim specializes in making music for trailers, and I really enjoyed working on this with him. I brought the first half of the song to the collaboration, which I wrote driving home one day while thinking about the pursuit of power and how it changes us. Tim had a vision for the production right away and the whole thing was finished in about 3 hours.

There is a code I'd like to mention here, (though I'm confident you all understand this already) the music shared on here is for your ears alone. Thank you for not sharing it, especially this track as I only own a portion of the publishing. 

I hope you enjoy this secret. I don't know if it will ever be released into the world, but I'm excited to share it with you.

Welcome Patron Owls

My dear friends, words are a bit inadequate at the moment. My heart has been beating double time (no doubt hurried on a bit by excessive helpings of  Earl Grey tea) ever since we started talking about making an album. Thank you for taking this first step with me, I won't forget it. Here is a somewhat awkward video with lots of 'umms' to welcome you. This is my best attempt at articulating amidst all the excitement.
