I set this whole lighting system up in my basement corner where I normally shoot my window light portraits. I wanted to back light with a warmer color as well. I rigged a strobe into the ceiling pointing straight down, but it just didnt seem to have that cinematic feeling. So I went with just using the window light and backlit with an LED light set to warm. The results where way better, so we rolled with it. I find that after all these years, I am still drawn to natural light and high ISO's with some sort of grain in my work. The basic color corrections for these where done in Adobe Lightroom, then i used some gradient maps to bring out the colors in Photoshop.

Wanted to try shooting Sarah in one of her dark goth dresses with a red backdrop, then create a flower pattern over the red. The initial edit looked fine on my computer, but when I uploaded I saw a bunch of flaws on my phone screen where the blacks where really washed out and it just didn't look like it blended in correctly. I decided to try new edits. Cant say I am 100% happy with the blending, but it seems to look ok on my computer screen, so I'm just leaving them the way they are.

/Upcoming Shoots
I booked a shoot with an old friend Amanda this Friday. And if everything works out, another shoot with Batwings next Tuesday. Going to try something creepy and beautiful with plastic and goo. Should be interesting 😌

This is a re-edit from an older set that I lost. originally, these were created for the Eros art book, but i needed them for some new designs, so I touched them up again. We used black body paint, fake blood and milk in a bathtub. I painted the initial design, then we poured milk over her head and let the substances all mix and drip down which created some cool textures.

I probably shoot these types of portraits way too much, but I just love that simple basement window and how the light casts. Depending on how sunny or gloomy the day is, each portrait I shoot like this has its own distinctness that makes them really beautiful.

I had shot something similar a few years back and liked the way the single light cast shadows. I had been playing with water lately on a few Adoration bodyscape sets, so I wanted to try that as well. I love the way the reflections in the floor turned out. I think its a simple setup but holds a lot of emotions still.

Decided to try a soft yellow background. We didn't really have any ideas on what we wanted to shoot, so Taylor just brought a dumpy sweater and underwear. Then we just tried to make it work and shot a bunch of simple portraits.

/Korey - In Limbo
This set was based on a Horror short video Idea I had. I wanted to shoot stills to see what it might look like if the main character woke up standing naked and wet in the basement. The idea was that she was in this house, and she was in the shower, lost in thought. Depression weighing in on her. Then she closes her eyes and upon opening her eyes, she finds herself standing in the basement alone and confused.
Then we just took the idea and made some emotive portraits out of it. So this is what we came up with.

These were just out takes from the empty days shoot. once we wrapped up shooting, Korey put on her big baggy Pink sweater and I thought it looked cool, so we shot a few more pictures with the natural light.

Due to power outages and weather being weird.
Shot a new set for Moonlight magazine for April though. Will share a teaser when it’s ready.
Also started designing skateboard decks. More in that later.
