SSD Model & Updates

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for your continued support of Branch Education!  We know we've been slow to upload, but that's only because we have 5 episodes that we are currently working on, all of which should be released in the next 3 months.  Be prepared for some incredibly detailed videos!

For May '22, we are giving out the SSD model that we used for our video on how SSDs work!  Take a look using the link below, and if you have any questions, definitely feel free to ask them.

Branch Education Update & Model Giveaway

Thank you to everyone who supports us on patreon!  I know we haven't posted many videos yet this year, but we are currently working on 4 in-depth videos, 2 of which are 25+ minutes of very detailed engineering, so stay tuned!  But starting this month, I'll be giving away blender models, and scenes that we used to animate.  For this month, the first model will be this PS4 controller.  You'll need Blender to open up the file.  You can download the file here:

Upcoming video on how computer mice work

Thanks for supporting Branch Education on Patreon!!  We're working on a few videos now, and here's the first half of the video on computer mice.  We're also working on a few videos going over CPUs, but because they are incredibly complex, researching and writing the episodes will take a little time.

3 Way Light Switches & Engineering Inside Them

Here's the pre-release of the next video.  It's a little more simple than other videos, but I wanted to highlight the engineering inside everyday objects.  Also I gotta alternate between heavily researched videos that take a month of just research, and well... those that don't.  The next set of videos will be a return to much higher tech topics.

How does Bluetooth Work?

After a month and a half I finally finished this video on Bluetooth.  It's 21.5 min of deep learning content, which is around 3x the length of the typical YouTube video so I hope it is worth the wait.  This is a pre-release version so let me know if there are any errors.  It's also useful to know what you think of it as it helps me improve future episodes.

Much Appreciated,

Teddy

The 4th video on How SSDs Work!

Here's the next installment of how SSDs work! This one explores the architecture of the microchips inside the SSD, and how information is organized.

SSD Architecture Video!

Here's the Intro to the upcoming video.  This video rounds out the videos on SSD architecture and will focus more on how the microchips found inside the SSD work together.  It's busy rendering, but it should be all finished sometime next week-ish.

Upcoming video on Wireless earbuds & Audio Codecs

Here's the first half of the next video!  It's coming along and should be fully finished shortly.

I have a few videos on wireless earbuds planned as there are a lot of fascinating aspects of technology in them, so stay tuned!

Upcoming SoC Video!

Hey Branch Education Supporters,

Here's the first 19min of the upcoming video.  In the future I'll try to upload videos at the 50% mark or earlier, but I was just spending so much of my time animating that I couldn't get to editing.  Thanks again for supporting the channel!

Best, Teddy

Let's Build Lemon Batteries

This post is a tad late, as I built this episode a few weeks back.  But better late then never!

Going forward, I changed the format to be monthly payments.  And with that I will try to post more often, be more interactive, and post more updates!

Thank You!

Thank you everyone who contributed!  You helped me to make the Lithium-ion battery video possible!  This video took me a little while longer to make than intended.  I was working on a PCB episode that had to get put on hold due to the requirements of some of the images, but it will eventually get completed.  The next episode list is:

  • How to Build Lemon Batteries
  • How Lemon Batteries Work
  • How PCBs work
  • Understanding Current and Voltage via Lemon Batteries
  • Wireless Communication: Wifi

The intent is to build a small miniseries about electricity through the use of lemon batteries.  This is so that people who haven't taken physics classes, or who have forgotten, won't be left out.
