Here's a fun little small update- now any time you enter an area, it shows a little bit of text!! I figured this would be a good way to remember where you're going, and it helps make the in-game areas a little more memorable!!

Trixie time!! Woohoo!! She's a really fun character to write, I'm really happy that she ended up being so popular! There's something about a sleazy lawyer character that's just a lot of fun to do! I hope you guys enjoy the bonus scene, it's a little differently paced than usual, so I hope that turned out well!!

Ooooh, it's another sidequest!! This one's a fairy tale story about Renee as a hungry wolfgirl and what happens when the Three Pig Sisters move into her neck of the woods! I'm sure you can all figure it out...
This is just one of SIX sidequests included in the upcoming sidequest update! (Plus, one of the six is an extra-long sidequest!) Development is progressing along smoothly though it'll still probably be a bit before the update can release. Keep your eyes peeling for more teasers and updates though!

It's not quite the new year yet, but you guys get it early!! SeaBea made this awesome animation to celebrate featuring everyone's favorite space cadet- Lilith! How'd she get there? Why would she want to be in space? Is her belly tough enough to survive in a vacuum? So many questions...

The opera house in New Pax has been reconfigured into a convention center!! It's gonna be used to host a Q&A featuring all the questions you guys asked in the end-of-year survey!
The rooms are sorted by character, with some of them grouped together, so there's plenty of space for ANY of the characters to answer any of your questions! Plus, there's some hooded figures, saying comments that you guys here, plus people on Weightgaming and Itch, have commented over the years!! See if you can spot your own comments in there!!

You asked and ye shall receive!! This was the most requested feature in the end of the year survey (Aside from drastic story-altering things like "Add in branching paths and alternate endings" and "Make Lilith a party member") and so I decided to add it back in!!
It took a lot longer than you'd think, there were a couple plugins arguing with each other because of the new movement system, but I figured it out and so it's back!! (I talked some more about it in the most recent Dev Commentary if that kinda technical rambling interests you haha)

Renee shows up a little early for a dinner and decides to snack on the host instead... Plus a competition starts up when she catches word of Lilith's latest meal...
You decided it, Renee gets to eat someone this time around! And as her and Lilith's waistlines grow, the roster of Evoria characters continues to shrink... Who'll be eaten next? Nobody knows...
Writing these Renee/Lilith scenes is so much fun and it makes it way more interesting for me now that there's a connected story, so I hope that's the same for you guys too! I hope you like it!!

Ooooh, the sidequest update is underway!! I'm not gonna reveal -every- sidequest there'll be, (just to keep some of them a surprise!) but I'll still post little snippets as everything progresses!
This one's fun- a little 80s-style exercise program, complete with a fun CRT filter! (I'm actually really proud of that part haha, it looks even better in-game!)

I said before and here they are- the scrawling of a madman. Recently, I've started taking down notes for Evoria in a little notebook- it's more portable and organized than just trying to remember ideas or write stuff down in my phone. Here's some notes I took for Chapter 8!
You can see some clear things here- there's the map of the mansion dungeon with notes for where all the food-wisps are, some proto-dialogue for the segments with Illumina and the Blank Model-R, and some ideas for Quizmaster questions!
Let me know if you guys find this kinda stuff interesting, I figured it'd be a neat thing to show off!
The sidequest update is underway, also!! There's more to come on that front, but I think you guys'll like some of the ideas me and SeaBea have planned!

BOO!!
Happy Halloween!! This year, your treat is a new chapter of Evoria!! It's even spooky-themed, so it fits! This one's a lot less complex than Chapter 7 with its crazy big city hijinks, but it's a whole lotta fun! Plus there's a bunch of lore and character development! Yay!
On the sad side of things, unfortunately old saves won't work on this version. That means that any save from before version 0.8.0 will not be compatible from here on out! There's some mechanical changes with the new gulp skill and the pixel movement, so if you try and load an old save, things get buggy pretty fast. The good news is that I've updated the saves in the Evoria Chapter Select folders, added a save to start right before the start of Chapter 8, and another one that has everything so far 100% complete, for all you completionists out there!
SeaBea also went all-out for this chapter, I know he's mentioned it before but Chapter 8 has the highest amount of scene art out of any chapter, clocking in at 47 pieces of scene art!! Plus, this really is some of his best stuff, it's amazing!!!
The next update for the game won't be Chapter 9 just yet, I'm planning on releasing a sidequest update to add in a bunch of fun sidequests set between chapters 8 and 9! With the sidequests, things are gonna be a lot zanier and less lore-heavy, so get hyped for that!! (Plus we may see a very special long sidequest that Archie had been talking about in that update too...)
But that's getting ahead of myself- Chapter 8 is out now and I hope you all like it!

Ohhhhhh snapppp, Chapter 8 is in its final stages of testing!! It's been a while but it's finally about that time again!

Lilith's new chef seems to have forgotten that the most important aspect of the job is making sure Lilith's belly is full at all times...
Now, I know what you're all thinking. "Part One!?" Yes, you read that right- Part One!
Since Lilith (And Renee) have been dominating the polls, I've decided to do a little something fun with their bonus scenes! This is part one where Lilith eats one character from the Evoria universe, but the next time Lilith wins another bonus scene poll, she'll have a direct sequel to this scene where she'll eat another character!
The same goes with Renee, every time either of them wins a poll, the two will continue to eat person after person until eventually every Evoria character is nothing more than fat on their waistlines! Maybe then they'll finally have one last showdown to truly find out who's the biggest glutton... Who knows!
I hope you guys like this idea, I think that since Lilith and Renee are so popular, this is a great way to do bonus scenes for them without things getting stale! Let me know what you think!!

OoooOOOoooOOO! A spooky update!!
Here's one of my favorite new areas- a haunted mansion!! Decorated with weird statues and framed photos, what could have happened here to leave everything like this?
I've loved mapping this place out, it's got all the hidden tricks and secret puzzles you'd expect in a place like this. Once the chapter is out, I might end up posting my actual notes I scrawled down in my notebook, they look like the ramblings of a madman.
This is the last area I wanna show for Chapter 8 so I don't give too much else away!! I'll see if I can find some fun mechanical changes and things though so I can keep you guys posted on while we work on finishing everything up! It'll still be a while before release, but progress is being made!!

Look at that! Now instead of just selecting a spot and traveling there by train, when you talk to the conductor it opens up a whole world map!
The train stations are marked by little sparkles, but if you wander around you can look and landmarks and get a feel for the geography of the kingdom!
I figured this'd be a fun little worldbuilding thing, since I really like having a big map to look at when traveling in games!

Woaaaah look at that! The movement in Evoria is no longer based on a grid system, now you can freely move around the map however you want!! This is another one of those changes that doesn't affect -too- much but the game looks and feels a lot better overall now!

Here's something fun- now all around the map you can find hidden bushes that, when interacted with, will give you a special berry!
These berries can be used to permanently increase the stat of your choice, so you have a little more freedom with how you'd like to upgrade each of the main party!
This mechanic is very much inspired by the beans in the Mario & Luigi series, so if you're familiar with those, the berries in Evoria work pretty much the same way!

For those of you that watched the Dev Commentary, you may already be familiar, but I've reworked the Gulp skill for (hopefully) the final time!!
Now it works where you can swallow the enemy (Without it missing nearly as often!) after they're at half health, then you slowly digest them! Of course, you could always speed up the process with a new Digest move that damages enemies while they're in your belly!
After you've swallowed the enemy, they are replaced with a "Belly Cam" view of the gal that ate the monster's gut! (The art for that is temporary, there's a good chance it'll change by the final release haha)
While in your belly, enemies can fight their way back out, too! Plus they can still damage you by struggling inside your stomach!
And of course, for those enemies that can't be damaged in any other way than your stomach acids, you can swallow them at full health! (And of course, you can't swallow boss monsters and other big things like that)
I'm hoping this'll be the last time the gulp skill is reworked because it's finally at a point where it's fun to use! It's no longer an insta-kill move that never hits, now it's got actual mechanics and it's balanced in a way where there is some real incentive to use it in normal combat!
