Chapter Two, Cover (Again??)

So, as some of you may have noticed, there weren't exactly a lot of updates to the comic in 2025. There were many reasons for this, but among them was that our original penciler for chapter two, Baphypaws, had too much on their plate and, eventually, had to bow out of the project entirely. But fortunately, we had another fantastic artist waiting to take over: the criminally underrated Mister Snek!

Since we were so early into this chapter (Baphy had only finished about four pages I believe) we decided that, for the sake of consistency, we'd go back and redo the first few pages from scratch. Thus, here we are at the cover and its alt, the second time around!

I'm very excited to show you the other redrawn pages very soon, as well as all the fun we have in store for this chapter in general. Y'all are absolutely going to love what Snek's doing.

A few more character doodles

While we're still waiting for the next batch of pages, thought I'd share a few more concepts by Mister Snek. Penny and Tiffan you'll recognize, but the other vixen is occasional background character Leslie, and the mouse girl...doesn't have a name yet. She's one of the extras from Snek's recent "Caught Red Handed" pinup piece, and I enjoyed her design so much I thought I might add her to the character roster X)

Character Concept Sketches

Our new penciler, Mister Snek, has been doing some practice in bringing the characters into his own style. Thought y'all might enjoy seeing some of the work he's been doing with them.

This is also as good a time as any to announce that Snek will officially be taking over pencil duties from our previous penciler, Baphypaws. Baphy still plans to be involved with the comic in a rough/thumbnail drafting capacity, but had to step back a bit otherwise due to schedule issues. Fortunately, Snek is also an amazing artist in his own right, so I think that he'll work out just fine X)

So the newest member of Team Penny, Mister Snek, had this fun idea a while back. Post-collar Penny with a job at the same magical sex toy shop that got her into this predicament...but finding ways to amuse herself. Seems someone's been accused of shop-lifting and needs to be searched THOROUGHLY. But if Alexa didn't do it, who did...?

So what HAS been going on, Stoker?

This is a bit long and a bit personal. Feel free to skip this if this isn't something you care about. The important part is that updates are resuming, albeit slowly, with plans to speed it up quite a bit as the year progresses. If that's all you're here for, you can stop reading now!

For everyone else, I'm not gonna lie, the entirety of 2024 and the first half of 2025 has been a very, very rough time for your ol' author.

As you are mostly all aware, my father passed away last year. He was disabled and I was his caregiver, and his age and health just kinda...all caught up with him. Since his passing, I have been struggling, mentally and emotionally and financially, to keep everything afloat. I've had to do multiple GoFundMes to cover bills, and despite that, I still came within a hair's breadth of losing my house. Seriously, I was in the foreclosure process, they put a notice on my door and everything, even set an auction date, and I just barely made the deadline to make the back payments I owed (plus legal fees) to reinstate the mortgage. This was, of course, also during the period where I broke my toe. And before that I was in a sort of depressive spiral where I felt pretty hopeless about my future and the future of the world in general. It wasn't great, to put it mildly.

I have felt for a while that I was letting you all down, but at the same time, that I was charging you all for nothing, and I don't blame any of the people who have canceled their memberships while waiting for updates. I would have put the whole Patreon and project on pause if I could have afforded to, but this has been my primary and, indeed, almost sole source of income, and most of this money is supposed to go to the art team. It's been a bit of a vicious cycle, needing to depend on this but also needing to use it to pay for the art to support this project at all. Month to month I've had to choose between paying bills/eating and paying for the art team to draw the pages so that I could post them and GET money to pay the bills. You see my dilemma!

But all that is coming to a close soon. I'm making plans and actually acting on them. I've begun the process of dealing with the many, many problems my parents left behind. I'm making business plans and, finally, merch plans as well. I'm looking into digital downloads, print runs, and all kinds of other things people have been asking about for literally years. I intend for 2025 to be the turning point for Penny. Chapter One took five years to complete, and I have no intention of Chapter Two taking anywhere near that same amount of time. I'm determined to tell this story and would like very much to be able to do so before I hit retirement age.

So, yeah, I don't know how much sense any of this has made. But you all deserved something in the way of explanation. Updates are resuming, plans are being made, and I'm not down and out quite yet. The only thing that can stop me from completing this comic is if something kills me...and even then, I have people who can take over for me. So don't worry. You haven't seen the last of Penny yet.
