Some of you might notice I've never tackled Miku but I've drawn Gumi, this is because I told myself I will only draw Vocaloids for whom I can compose songs for (ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnB_Npv2PEw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ysjh5wGw3k) so with this sketch I'm basically pushing myself to do so in the near future (I already have several MIDI I would like to use for this purpose).

New promo: Free August 2024 code + simplifying monthly packs + Inbox check

Hi everyone!

I noticed a feature in the new store (payhip.com/firez) that allows me to make different variations from a single monthly pack, I will be using this new feature from now on to upload new monthly packs and distribute the usual codes.

In order to test this new feature I will be sending you a code to claim August 2024 for free! 

To get it just be a 5$ or more patron. So if you are not a patron please consider becoming one , you will also get the currents exclusives (Mar + Feb). If you're a 1$ patron you can change your pledge and I will send you the code too!

Remember that as months get delisted my 5$+ patrons receive a PayHip code and a Google Drive link to save and own everything I posted.

 If you claimed or bought any individual core packs: do not worry those will remain but from now on there will be a single pack for each month.

In other news: I noticed that Patreon changed the address from which it sends the emails for the new posts, this might cause those emails to get filtered. For example My 3D model post from yesterday got caught in the Gmail promotions folder, so please check your inboxes.

New video format: Voiced over review and notes

Hi!

I wanted to let you know about a new format for the video rewards, focusing more on analyzing the work done.

For this remake, I discuss old issues and how I solved them, as well as why certain elements were added, changed, or omitted. This won't replace the real-time, voiced-over videos (I’ll still make those) but for some pieces, separating the process from the analysis feels more effective.

As an example, I’ve included the first video (link above), which will be part of the new video, notes, and Procreate files post coming tomorrow. I hope you find it helpful!

For the elf piece I made this short text:

If you're not a patron: In short I got banned from Gumroad last week. If you ever bought something from my store there: Do not worry! You still have those packs/products in your profile. However I needed a replacement so I went with the service posted above. I'm currently in the process of reuploading everything there

I took the chance to create a more basic and affordable Monthly pack that comprises everything in the 5$ tier (Non-censored versions, alts, psds, Spicy and Spicier sketches sets, brushes, music, RITA app and bonus code for SARA).

Loss of Gumroad store, its replacement + 2 good news

I was recently banned from Gumroad. However, if you previously purchased or claimed for free any of my monthly packs or other products, they should still be accessible in your Gumroad library. (That’s the first good news!)

After researching alternatives, I’ve chosen PayHip as my new storefront. I’m currently uploading my past monthly packs there (thankfully, I had local backups). This also brings a new update: I’ll now offer two monthly packs!

• Full Pack ($10 and up tiers): Includes every single reward, as usual. If you're in these tiers and had claimed my Gumroad packs before, it will be pretty much the same

• Basic Pack ($5 tier): Includes all the 1$ and 5$ rewards. If you’re in this tier, you’ll still receive last month’s rewards via Google Drive in the first week of the new month and also a free code to claim the Basic Pack on PayHip! (That’s the second good news.)

Once I've the new storefront ready I will make a new post

Finally, If you're a Gumroad NSFW creator I would advise to back up your library. Gumroad not only banned me without warning but also denied me access to the digital goods I purchased from others.

Chrome extension: SARA (Simple Artistic Reference Assistant) v0.6 + Bonus code and content

SARA is a Chrome extension that contains tools that help artists quickly modify reference images directly inside the browser like flipping actions, convert to monochrome and enable a custom grid on top of the images. It also comes with some art related quotes that are shown at random each time you activate the extension!

I still plan to return to develop FDM8 but I've been so overwhelmed that it has been extremely difficult to do so. However I'm about to reach a milestone with SARA (getting it published on the Chrome's store) once that's achieved I will start looking into FDM8 again.  

Changelog for 0.63b:

-Fixed the “Open Folder” function during sessions

-Changed image controls during session. They are now very similar to the native Windows Photos app (Use scroll to zoom in and out, press and hold a mouse button to pan. Left Button pan is normal, Right button pan is inverted)

-Added new references (962 total = 846 from the Public domain  + 117 that are mine)

-Changed countdown timer sound

What's FDM8?

• Figure Drawing M8 is a Windows app that creates figure drawing sessions in a gamified way!

• The more you practice the more points you get to unlock drawing/anatomy tips, themes, assistants, welcome quotes, etc..

• It comes with over 900 reference images (public domain + some of my works) and you can add your own references too!

• In its current version the app comes with 60 welcome quotes, 36 tips, 4 assistants, 3 themes and 3 practice modes.

• It features non destructive image editing to help your practice, ex: image flips, convert to monochrome, custom grid overlays and a daily streak system.

NOTES:

• This is not a drawing app. FDM8 allows windows resizing so you can use your favorite drawing app on its side or do the drawing in a different monitor/device/pen and paper

I hope you like this new batch. I got so into the the elf girl sketch that many alts came out of it.

For the wips I added a pixel art I'd teased before but because it's from a game project that it's not mine (I'm only making some of the art) the dev asked me not to release yet. However he said it was fine to start releasing some of that art starting next week.

I'm finishing the SARA v0.6 which will also be the version I will submit to the Google Chrome store. Assuming it gets accepted I added a code system that will unlock some nice bonus for you guys but if SARA isn't useful for you don't worry I will post its bonus content here anyways.

New Reward for 5$ and up tiers : Spicier Sketchbook Batch

Hi everyone!

I've been thinking about this for a while now: This new batch will feature more explicit sketches, but let me assure you—this is not a hard pivot towards this type of content. It’s something I’ll be posting once or maybe twice per month as an addition and not as a replacement for the good old Sketchbook Batch.

The rest of my work, will remain the way it has always been (content wise ofc. I will always strive to make better stuff!), and this is simply a way to explore a new avenue and expand what I can offer to you.

Why this new addition? A few reasons:

• I’d like to see if it helps boost my patronage so I can do more a better works, have a better standard of living, etc.... (Thanks to your current support I was able to replace my 2015 iPad pro with the new one but I'm also hoping I can replace my equally old PC in the near future, move out from Honduras, etc...)

• It’s a way to offer more value for those of you in the Critical tier. (Ex: by getting more experience drawing male anatomy, different situation and body interactions, etc...)

• And finally, it’s a chance for me to challenge myself and expand my skill set as an artist which improves the rest of my work.

The first Spicier Sketchbook Batch is almost already done and will go live this Saturday. At best, I hope you look forward to it. At worst, Well....I just hope you won’t mind its inclusion and that you still look forward to my usual stuff!
