'nother comic update! Gonna be doing color pages every now and again, plan is to utilize them for particularly choice scenes, though in this instance it was more just to help people get a clear idea of what the interior of the candy mansion really looks like.

In this devlog we meet Odette the Witch and she shows us some of her funny fucking spells!!! One of which results in causing a certain someone to become far rounder than they previously were!
2 of the 4 spells will just result in a game over (which I've already made), and you can probably take a guess at which ones will do so, if you wanna pause to read their descriptions.

COMIC JUMPSCARE!
Been brewing up this comic for a hot minute now, I have the whole story for this "episode" plotted out and ready to be drawn, so it's just a matter of doing the damn thing! (Very excited to bring some of these crazy scenes to life)
I plan to be updating this comic in tandem with Lilith's Lair to help fill in the gaps that naturally come with doing game dev stuff (I don't wanna overshare too much and spoil the surprises in the game!)
Since I'm drawing this in black and white (and the drawings don't have to move!) I should be able to pepper updates in here and there without it conflicting with the game development.

A big ol' preview of the "Vore route" in Lilith's Lair! Also added a little "screen tint" feature for fun, since the whole game is grayscale anyway.
Coming back to this a year later after finishing VEC was kind of a trip, and a reminder of just how much I've learned over the course of developing my previous game. Some day when I feel confident enough in my knowledge of Game Maker I'd like to make a video series that passes down what I've learned. Until then! I'm going to be plugging away at this as much as I can so I can get it in your guys' hands to play ASAP!

Been way too long since I updated this thing, my bad!
A lot of this will be retreading so feel free to ignore if you're already in the know but for the sake of maximum clarity I'm going to go over real quick the current trajectory of the patreon.
NEW GAME! BELLAGARTH'S QUEST!
I'm currently working on a sequel to Lilith's Lair called Bellagarth's Quest. It's a platformer with heavy narrative elements and minigames (like the ones you'd see in Lilith's Lair).
I've already got a handful of devlogs out going over my design philosophy for the game and what has been completed thus far. Pretty solid progress has been made but there's still a metric fuckton to be done before the game is finished. While with my other games I could give a completion estimate for year end, Bellagarth's Quest is going to be significantly meatier than both VEC and Lilith's Lair combined, and thus will take a very long time to complete, definitely more than 1 year. If you're not interested in game dev from me, sorry to say that's what's mainly gonna be on the menu for a good while.
COMIC!
Still plugging away at Tales from the Burger Kingdom, though that's admittedly slowed down a little bit as I've shifted a lot of energy into the game. It will absolutely see completion though unless I like. Die or something. Lol.

Hello everyone, hope the holidays were good for you! (if not then chin up, kid!)
I had a nice break myself and plenty of time to think about where I wanna take things this year.
MONTHLY ANIMATIONS
I think the current format of Kurger Combo polls on the 10th of the month resulting in Mini Animations works pretty good and is not overly obtrusive to the game dev stuff, so for the time being (or at least while making Lilith's Lair) mini animations will be the norm.
HOWEVER!
This coming month (January 2024) I will be doing a proper Burger Kurger Short, the monthly Kurger Combo poll will only be on the kink that is featured in it, and I will write the story based around it's result.
LILITH'S LAIR
The next game I'll be working on is Lilith's Lair!

Development will start back up in February (so January I'll be focused entirely on the Kurger Short), so you can expect devlogs for that to start back up around that time. The plan is still to have it done by the end of 2024, and for it to be playable on an Internet browser.
VISCA'S EARTH CONQUEST
There's still a few glitches I've been made aware of thanks to people filling out the feedback form, and I'm going to do my best to fix those when I can spare the time to do it (especially the ones that result in crashes). I really really appreciate everyone being so constructive in their criticism by the way, it's been super helpful.
I'm also working on getting the game put on Steam, should that pan out I plan to give Steam Keys to everyone here for it.
Regardless of it that works out, once the game is decently stable to my liking, it will be released to the public.

WINDOWS ONLY
Fully playable version of Visca's Earth Conquest is READY TO PLAY!
Gamepad is supported (and personally recommended) and controls are fully rebindable so make sure to get it where you're comfortable. Should take roughly 30 mins to an hour to reach the credits, depending on how fast you go. Feedback form is accessible through the title screen of the game but I'll link it here as well just in case: FEEDBACK FORM
While I do plan to leave VEC as it is for now and getting back to Lilith's Lair, I do want to make sure to patch any glitches (especially before it goes fully public). I also want to be aware of whatever aspects of the game's design were enjoyable or not, if the game PISSED YOU OFF or MADE YOU CUM feel free to use that feedback form to tell me why. All that data is useful to me and is totally anonymous so don't worry about hurting my feelings >:)
This was an invaluable learning experience for sure, I'm super fucking grateful to have the support to have been able to make something like this (I'll keep saying that til I die cuz it's true lmao)

Version 1.1 is ready to download! This version fixes various game-breaking bugs, especially around the ending zone. View the patch notes HERE. Thank you all BIG TIME for your valuable feedback, I'm still going to be keeping an eye on it in case more issues arise :D

Version 1.1.2 is ready to download! This is a tiny hotfix that fixes an issue with the failsafe that would cause a different crash (don't worry guys, fatal error messages being different is a good thing!)

This took me waaaay too long to do, but here is the newest version of the game, identical to the Steam version (aside from lacking Steam achievements, of course).
Lots of minor tweaks to make the game better, as well as fixing a glitch caused during control rebinding.
Visca's Earth Conquest is extremely close to completion, which is why I skipped on doing a devlog last month. The game itself and content is all there, right now all I've got to do is straighten up a few very important things and it'll be ready go. This process shouldn't take long at all, I'm expecting I'll have it ready to go before the 15th this month.
This does mean that we'll see a slight delay on the animation poll for December (which is usually done on the 10th) and subsequently might not see a completed mini animation until a bit later into the month.
I'm really happy with how the game has shaped up and I'm super excited for you guys to play it!!

Agnes has a chance meeting with the Queen of the Undead, though unfortunately Eurydice couldn't care less about undead people.
City area is finished, meaning the entire playable area of the game is COMPLETED! Enemy placeholders have been replaced with finished assets, and the final boss (while still somewhat buggy and not fully functional as he can't follow you between rooms yet) is really coming together! Still gotta add a bunch of stuff like a short ending and opening, more unique dialogue interactions from the Boss Lady, and a bunch of polishing shit. We're getting there though!
Absolutely insane that I am able to make something like this in this timeframe, which would not be possible without you guys. So THANK YOU!!

Ocean area is finished, starting up on the city! City's gonna be pretty damn hefty as far as art assets go, but once that's done then it's on to final touches to the game like getting rid of all of the placeholder art, finalizing sound effects, and making a proper final boss! (The actual final boss is completely different from the asteroid guy that crashes the game LOL)

Thought I'd put a little somethin together for funsies, also for getting in practice animating exclusively in Clip Studio Paint (my method thus far has been doing keyframes in CSP and doing in-betweens in Aseprite, which is a tough program to draw in at higher resolutions)

As of right now the plan for Mini Animations is to loop them once, while pausing at "key moments". If people would prefer one straight playthrough just YELL AT ME LOL
