Apologies for the quiet periods around here. We promise you we're still working very hard behind the scenes.
As of this weekend, we have finally cracked open DLC and have the system fully working from a Server point of view 🎉
This means that one of the newest complete and working features dropping in the next update is going to be a full DLC System that mimics the original Atari Servers.
We have finally cracked DLC wide open, and can configure descriptions, prices, and much more. We hope to use this feature to bring in some custom content for contests, Beta Testers and Staff also.
As promised, we will not ever be making people pay for existing (and even NEW DLC content!), Atari Tokens will be pre assigned, and you will have enough to purchase all existing vehicles, clothing and the Casino Add-On.
In other news: The Mod Pack Team have been working hard behind the scenes on our TDU World Tools, which are a fully fledged set of tools that allow us to create and import new vehicles, as well as improve on old ones.
Right now, we've gotten colours almost working, and are able to modify multiple other items in game using our own database tools.
Xarlith has been working with us on a joint effort to release the final version of TDU2: Unofficial Patch.
For now, Unofficial Patch is unofficially supported by TDU World, so if you want bug fixes, new vehicles and improved payouts, you can now download and use the Unofficial Patch with TDU World's newly released "Packed Edition": No more unpacking required! 🎉

More news will be coming soon folks, there's a lot in development both for the server and for the mod pack, and we have ramped up Beta Testing officially to ensure we can at least get a Mod Pack out as promised very soon.

Greetings to all our wonderful patrons!
Team TDU World has been working hard behind the scenes when we can this month, so let's run through a few new things!
First off, Welcome to a few of our new patrons this month! If you haven't already done so, you can link up your Patreon Account with Discord, and ensure you have joined the TDU World Community! In doing so, you unlock access to "The Quiet Zone" and exclusive ranks, this gives you direct chat with the TDU World Team, as well as a place to chat to fellow patrons, and listen to music with our friendly bot.
Merch is now starting to roll out for our Super and Ultra Fans, so if you've been around for 3 months please ensure that your Patreon Account details are correct for Patreon to send across your sticker, and T-Shirt if you're an Ultra fan.
Patrons are also allowed access to the TDU World Beta, please drop a message in The Quiet Done Team chat if you want access!
Let's get on to the goodies shall we?
Now Live in Beta:
Basic Stats: Money, Owned Vehicles and Owned Cars stats now sync when you first launch the game. Eventually we will expand this to Level and XP too and in real time.
Commerce/DLC: Partially working. All the behind the scenes stuff is ready to go, we're just ironing out one small bug which is stopping the DLC for unlocking if you "purchase" it (Reminder: TDU World will allow purchase of all DLC for FREE, however you still need to virtually "purchase" it in game to unlock it)
Improved Moderation: Over time, this system will now grow alongside the community. We will be picking new staff members for a "Moderator" role which may include both the Discord Moderation and In-Game Moderation.
Things currently being worked on:
Lobbying 2.0: We're still aware that Free-Roam and Challenges/Police Chases do not work properly and are unstable. There is a couple of issues here mainly related to how people set up the game and their own network settings, but also with our primary server functions.
To attempt to combat these issues, we are completely rewriting the Lobbying Service for TDU World, from scratch and will be releasing "Lobbying 2.0" with the next release.
The next release to Beta will contain the following:
Lobbying 2.0 (Brand new Lobbying, more reliable and quicker to find sessions)
More Stats (XP Sync, more stats in real time + working with Website)
Friends (Add/Remove Friends, + the ability to join anyone recent or in friends list!)
Unfortunately, due to the small size of the team and how busy we are with work and our lives, we can't promise a time frame, however we're hoping to have another major release sometime in May. The above release to Beta will be sooner, and once we know for sure everything is working as expected, Release to Public will follow within 2 weeks.

Hey folks!
Sorry about the radio silence here on the Patreon. As I'm sure you're all aware it's been an extremely busy month for us all here at TDU World.
Let's get to it!
First, welcome to all our fresh new Patreon members! New and old, we love you all for choosing to support us directly in our endeavor. Your Patron donations help us really push the boundaries for TDU2 and help us all stay awake during our long days with all the coffee :D
On to the juicy bits!
As you all know, we went live on the weekend before the Official 10th Anniversary of TDU2, this was a major goal for us behind the scenes and the drama has all been worth it!
Safe to say this has definitely not been without it's teething problems, but the sheer love from the community has made the drive so much more worth it. We cannot put into words how thankful we are for each and every one of you!
During the first 2 weeks we've identified a few Lobby bugs and other miscellaneous things that we have swatted both in release updates and in our beta testing.
Within the last week, the Server Developers in particular have been very hard at work ironing out the following, which should hopefully go live this weekend:
1. Improved Lobbying (We think we have identified the game breaking bug where you simply can't join a lobby for hours if not days at a time)
2. Improved Logins: No more profile errors! As of this update, users will no longer need to contact us to manage their accounts, as the Website will now allow users to self-service these actions. Better yet, there is NO need to delete the Game Profiles any longer, with the new update, if you delete your save you can just log right back in, though this will start a completely fresh game and all stats will be lost. We're still working out how the "cloud saves" work so you will never lose game progress for online saves again.
3: Moderation: As i'm sure you've noticed, there's the occasional flight/speed hacker, and lots of money cheating etc going on. At this time whilst we had the capability to ban the system was not properly implemented and so was not being utilised. We are testing a final build for moderation and will be taking on both Discord and In Game Moderators going forward to track and ban all cheaters who break the rules. TDU World is all about fairness and being able to enjoy the game without some random person ruining it for us all. Rest assured as time goes by there will be a lot more automation so players will never be able to mod statistics and cheat their way to the top!
4: DLC.
Going forwards with the next release, DLC will likely require "purchasing" again.
What we mean by this is we are working to reimplement the "Atari Token" system that was originally used to purchase DLC, to allow users to experience the process first hand, as well as to improve the general knowledge that by doing so this way you also unlock cool avatar clothing etc when you purchase the more expensive vehicles. Neat!
All users will be pre assigned the correct amount of Total Atari Tokens to purchase ALL the DLC available in the game, with the exception of the Casino, which won't be available for "purchase" until we get it working and are ready to release it to the public.
New features coming soon:
As much as we've been hard at work fixing up existing released features, we are also hard at work with the following:
Launcher: We identified the weird issues with the launcher being detected as a false positive virus/malicious piece of software, and are working on a fix. We're also working on bringing back a fully functional update system allowing everyone to stay on the latest launcher, game and mod pack editions going forwards.
On this note: the installer will also be getting some tweaks to ensure that users install TDU World right the first time, every time! no more weird errors and crashes, just fun!
Mod Pack: We now have released the first edition of the TDU World Mod Pack to the beta team, including a completely MAXED OUT vehicle collection, improved physics, better controller support and items like the weather mod, game breaking bug fixes (including all from the Unofficial Pack) and more!
Server: We have started working on expanding out the following features and they will be coming very soon!
Statistics: All player stats will soon start syncing properly, allowing everyone to compare and view other players stats, this lays the fundamentals for the rest of the online features.
Friends: We have now got an almost fully functioning friends system working in TDU2, we're just putting the finishing touches on it!
Map: We are still aware the map is broken at the moment. With the lobbying fix this should improve but users may still see "Car not downloaded" and be unable to join players. We're working on this.
Leaderboards: We have not yet fully started on Leaderboards, however these lay down the fundamentals for all multiplayer Races, Clubs, Community/Official Race Centers, Casino etc. Until this is done and implemented at least for single player races, the below will not be coming.
Multiplayer Races: These have not yet been looked into fully, though they are next on the list!
Clubs: We have been working hard on clubs and have managed to almost get them fully functional again. Right now they don't have working leaderboards which is vital to the competitive edge of this part of the game, but we have been pretty much successful in uploading our first custom Club Race!
Community/Official Race Center: We started working on the Community Race Center recently also, and much like clubs they now function to the point where we're almost able to upload a race. Again leaderboards do not work fully so this is on hold.
The Official Race Center will make a return at the same time the Community Race Center does. Allowing the TDU World Staff to run Weekly/Monthly game races for in game money, and vehicle prizes for the top competitors on the leaderboard in brand new, custom races set by the team!
Casino: Yes, the one everyone seems to have been waiting for. Not much has been done on this side of the project as it is a very low priority. Remember, Casino is a separate DLC within the game and is not a base function, so therefore is not of importance to us when we say we are getting the game working properly. We have however managed to further improve the current basic functionality, but no gambling rooms yet.
Finally, the Website!
Yes the website is still very much in it's infancy. We have a lot more in the works than the original website ever intended to cover.
In the works:
Better Profile Management, including being able to view all stats for your profiles in one main management suite
Planned features (subject to change):
Website leaderboards: compare profile stats with other players, race times and lots more!
In Game Photos: Photos taken in game with the camera will eventually be accessible online for everyone to see! This makes life lots easier for everyone who likes to share high quality screenshots from in game with their friends and discord members. :)

TDU World can't thank you all enough for all your support, As a Patron, your pledges do not go unnoticed.
Our beta testers are working very hard behind the scenes and we're pleased to announce we're well on target for a Q1 2021 release.
Most of the testers have been able to successfully roam around Free Roam and already we've some awesome content to show.
We've also been hard at work preparing a brand new version of the TDU World Launcher of which the Beta Testers are getting a first look into.
We currently have a work in progress updater for the TDU World Launcher and Mod Pack!
At this time, we do not have any other specific updates on this side of the project but stay tuned...
The TDU World Online Server for Test Drive Unlimited 2 is coming along quite nicely, we're crushing the bugs on Free Roam and are pleased to announce that the general Login Process and Friends System is almost ready to go live. ETA 2 weeks!
We're still aware that the original TDU World Website is down.
Unfortunately due to some background with the original Website creator, this is sadly gone forever, but fear not!
The first truly official version of the website is being worked on by our resident Web and Server Developer, Redd, and he is making solid progress.
Once we have updates on the in depth details, all you lovely patrons will have a first look and a more in depth news briefing.
We ask that you keep this between us for now, and leave it to us to announce when we make our Official Announcements to the TDU Zone Discord and the TurboDuck Forums.
