Oh golly it's actually finished I can't believe it.
Firstly, thank you for supporting this project! It would not exist without your support, there's no way I could make something like this.
I did know it was a big project but still I thought I'd finish it 2 weeks ago. I've watched it so many times I am not sure whether it's good or not. (Do I say that every time I probably do.)
I started it in February 2022 and spent almost a month on it, and I got up to about 01:45 before I flaked out. I'm glad I took the break because I was able to enjoy working on it right up until today, sometimes that's not true on big projects for me.

This is how I imagined the thumbnail more or less, I hope it's enticing. I could have gone for standard angry orc+sexy gnome I suppose like I did for the last one.

I got pretty far with this second idea but it was too detailed, I realised it wasn't a good thumbnail.
I don't intend to start another Meth Orcs straight away, I'd like to see how this one is received first. I've written 4 more episodes, but I'm not sure how feasible any of them are to animate. They're all pretty large and one of them is an 18+ idea.

I made a quick video teasing Meth Orcs and showing the process of creating the toy. Definitely need a catboy content warning for this one.

I'm in the final stages of Meth Orcs. Making lots of one or two frame adjustments, stuffing around with sound, still trying to get music to work in some sections. This is always my least favourite part (I've never warmed up to doing sound effects) but it's easy to stay motivated because finishing the project is right around the corner. There's 81 shots and at least half of them need some level of attention.

I think I'm going to change the title back to Meth Orcs: Inflates you Big & Round. It was the title when I was writing it but from the point I started animating I switched to Meth Orcs: Cat Out of Luck, mostly because "inflates you big and round" is a furry joke from discord I think. Also it received more votes in a discord poll. But darnit I think it's a better title and is more fitting. Also having a pun in the title never quite sat right.
Sorry it's taking so long to finish the cartoon, I expected to have it done by now! Starting to feel bad about how long it's taking but it's still unfinished, have to keep sanding away. My next project idea is What happened to the Gnomes? It's a Fernando & Gooseman short featuring Uncle Warren. It would be more conversational and less action heavy than this one and wouldn't take nearly as long to make.

I have received my prototype Fernando. He's cute, he's soft, he's a nice size. And in the second image you can see him minus his singlet. How many toys boast sparkly pink nipples? Probably lots, I have no idea.
I'll make a post here at the time of the launch (mid-late February) which will contain a discount for patrons if anyone is thinking of getting him.
I have all the voices for Meth Orcs recorded and I've made a lot of progress with the music. I've animated the action climax and now I need to do the last scene and plug some earlier gaps. I won't share any new shots for now because I don't want to spoil anything more than I have already.
I've been playing around with https://beta.openai.com/playground
Below is 3 short scripts i've written using it. I'm not planning on using AI to write scripts I just think it's amazing you can spit out content like this. I think AIs like this will change our media landscape radically and probably quickly since they're free for anyone to use.

I wrote prompts for a few scenes involving Treshtog but the results were quite generic.

An early factory preview Fernando is on his way to me. Soon I will caress him. He will probably go on sale some time in mid-late February. I'll make a little video like the last one talking about the progress later this month or early next month. If you haven't already, sign up to be alerted about it: https://greasytales.gimmeswag.com/ although I will post about it here too.
Here's a nice pew pew shot of the wizard from my last post.

Here's a before and after of Treshtog throwing his axe.

***The following section contains Meth Orcs Spoilers***
There's no way to share what I'm up to without showing some shots from the final third of Meth Orcs. I've still got 40 seconds or so to animate but there's a lot of shots (rapid cutting, I choose to do this to myself).

This shot took so long to do but I'm really happy with it.
Music: I have an idea for the main theme but I haven't figured out how it translates to half of the scenes yet. It doesn't feel like an action tune. I will probably lean on the percussion I've used for previous similar moods (action shots in previous Meth Orcs and Great Destiny Man eps). I think it will be a difficult one to score.

No context just sparkles. Actually looking at them now I like them but they need to be bigger and probably more.

I'm finally up to my special guy.

He's got a gross beard. He will have a mouth that talks under the moustache, haven't got the lines yet.

I might still add a little head and ear bob to this one. My intention is that he is a dark elf but it occurred to me after I made these shots that elves, or tolkien elves anyway aren't supposed to be able to grow beards. But it was pointed out that Bethesda elves can and there are some other explanations suggested to me that I can use (he's from the south, is half dwarf, eats weird mushrooms etc).

I'm hoping that after this cartoon is finished no one accuses me of liking catboys anymore. Although none of the catboys from Meth Orcs Meth Harder or Prince of Vibes fared very well either.

I don't know if it looks like it but this shot took 1.5 days to do, it was brutal! Still lots of action to go.
I've been trying to decide how I feel about AI generated images this month. Is it art and is it ethical to use? I even thought about making a video on the topic but I doubt I could do it justice without putting some research time and effort in. It made me realise that my own definition of what is and isn't art is quite hazy, and I don't think I'm interested in whether something achieves the classification of art or not. My first conclusion is that I don't consider AI images "art" because there's very distant and remote human intent behind them, but I also don't think it matters all that much. It might be an important classification to some people but not to me. Is a nice sunset art? No. Is it nice to look at? Yes. Is an AI image that composites 15 different sunsets together art? Kinda, I'm rounding down to no. It's closer to an accidental real sunset.
I thought about using AI images in paintings in the background of Todd's office in Gooseman Runs for Office, but I ran into some problems: 1) i think i need to pay to generate suitably hi resolution outputs (they need to be quite large) 2) controlling colour palettes is quite hard (this is not insurmountable I can colour correct things) and 3) enough artists are aggrieved at their work being included in AI databses that I don't think it's ethical to use them for a project that isn't personal use. At least for now.
NYE is tomorrow at time of writing so I hope you all have a happy new years and a fun evening if you are looking for one! I will be having a low key evening with a couple of friends who have an apartment from which you can see fireworks and I doubt it will go late.

Every so often I try to make this song work again. This version is much better than the previous versions because it's in a key that works for my voice, the last version was too low and the previous two version were too high. The first version is quite old now, but I am motivated to finish it because I've had a nice idea for a music video. I'd like to do it in the fabric overlay/tapestry style like in this shot from Vile Little Goblin. Maybe on old paper rather than fabric, not sure yet.

Even so, the song is not quite there yet, the guitar is a bit clunky and I could do better with some of the lines.
A few days ago I started working on Meth Orcs: Cat Out of Luck again.

I was just thinking about how it's been over a year since the last one and I shouldn't leave it too long or everyone would forget, and realised that I was keen to work on it again. I spent about a month on it back in February but flaked out because of all the action shots. It will take a while but I believe it will be good!

It feels good animating Treshtog and Fanny again. I'll finish Gooseman Runs for Office after Meth Orcs now.
I'm still positive for covid but I feel normal again. Still coughing and blowing my nose but I'm ok now.
I hope you all have a nice christmas/holiday period!

Over the last month I've been making karaoke videos on my second channel, I felt after 8 I had enough for a compilation. These are all the music videos I made from 2010 to 2013.

I have covid atm. It's pretty bad when I wake up but once I have some paracetamol I'm able to work on shots. The alternative is lying around and looking at my phone and i'm bored of that.

Todd's back! You may remember Todd from The Great Chimp Heist. Did he survive the cobras or is this a prequel? That is the question...

This is a very angry cartoon for Gooseman. I still need to blur his arms in this shot.

I thought about making fake flags instead of Australian flags, cause I've never specified which country they are in and you know how in some cartoon worlds they don't have the same country and city names as reality? Pleasure Island is obviously it's own island nation but when they are not there are they in Australia? I prefer to think they are not, but I think I will set this one in Australia. I might change my mind though.

I made a video about the design process for the plush toy and also a bit about Gooseman Runs for Office.
The mailing list address is http://greasytales.gimmeswag.com if you'd like to get e-mail updates about the toy. Only last week I made a video complaining about e-mails but now I'm hustling an e-mail list.

This was the reference sheet I sent them. I didn't give them an example of the pose but I asked for him to be standing holding his spear.

Option A - I like it but my understanding of plush toys is that they should be cuter!

B - Cuter, eyes probably shouldn't be bright red though.

C - Cute BUT it looks like a funko pop, which for me is a no.

We went with B and tried emphasising the chest hair. I opted not to go with the armpit hair because I rarely draw Fernando's armpit hair, it's not a part of his look. I don't think he shaves it either but I just don't bother animating it most of the time.

This is the final design sheet. I'm making the spear tip a bit darker.

This will tell the story of Gooseman's race for a senate seat. His campaign suffers a setback when gopher farmer/cocaine dealer Todd McGovern alleges that he was formerly involved in the trafficking of human organs. Gooseman has to make a tough compromise to stay in the race.

The animatic is finished visually although I haven't lifted a finger towards doing any voices yet. Not sure what the music will be like either. It's currently running at 2:17 but once I add dialogue it will probably end up being around 2:45 since I always underestimate how many frames the dialogue needs. Also I tend to edit very tightly in animatic stage and add more and more space as it goes along. It will probably take me 5-6 weeks to animate. It's quite dialogue heavy but I'd like to have a lot of character animation like in the title gif.

This is the second time Gooseman has rocked the slicked back look. The first was in one of the first cartoons I made back in 2006.

For the first two weeks or so I had the Guts theme from Berserk in the timeline as a placeholder to help me feel the mood. I didn't want to rip of that glorious track so the theme doesn't resemble it beyond being a slow piano+string track except for one very special part near the end, I'm sure you'll know it when you hear it if you are familiar with Guts' Theme.
My idea for the credits track was to make something like what you might hear during the end credits of an old anime. I've been watching the original Legend of the Galactic Heroes recently while I exercise (it's an awesome show) and there is a song used in the credits of the later episodes which is wonderfully moody, again it's not at all like what I made but it's what started me off. An aspect of anime soundtracks I noticed is that they will kind of refer to events in the show but not in a specific way. The lyrics are attempts to metaphorically describe being slowly worn down by reading e-mails, points of lights being electrons, little fish being spammers, constant pressure referring to the never ending trickle of them coming my way.

This is the harrowing story of a man driven to despair by receiving too many e-mails. This is a sequel to Regret and it's similar in that it features my self insert grappling with a real world problem with the help of an anime character. Pretty strange series idea I guess.
Thank you for supporting this project! I hope you enjoy it on some level, the catboys are divisive, the first one in Meth Orcs 2 received such a strong reaction I kept putting them in cartoons but after Purrnando I decided I was done with them. But then I thought how can I ignore the final boss of catboys? I can't. Also, there's catboys in the unfinished Meth Orcs so I'm afraid I'm not done with them yet.

This project started as a bit of a thought bubble, I couldn't help expanding it as I thumbed it out, but I am so far keeping it pretty streamlined. I believe I will have most of it done in the next week, so hopefully I will have it out somewhere around the 21st -25th.
It's a bit of a weird one, the cartoons it is most similar to are What if ur mum is anime? and Regret. (It's basically a sequel to Regret)
It's hard to share much of it without giving the game away, so don't cast your eyes further downward if you want to stay innocent. Spoiler tag!!!!!

This is one of those rare times where I'm attempting to reflect a relatable aspect of modern life. Sometimes I feel oppressed by the amount of e-mails I get. I try and stay on top of them, in fact most of the time I aim for the blissful nirvana of "inbox zero". (Actually that might be a better title). But every day they stream in.

Why is Ferris from Re:Zero in the cartoon? There is a narrative reason but it's pretty tenuous, it's probably closer to Regret where Tracksuit chats with Yugio (Goku) because that is his most trusted role model??? Not sure myself.

I've started making karaoke versions of my music videos and uploading them to my second channel. Here's the play list so far. I'm doing them late at night when I have the energy so it might take me a while to do them all. My goal is a compilation video of all the music videos to upload to my main channel.
The factory has made several versions of the Fernando plushie. I'd like to share the most recent one because it actually looks really good but I have to wait until it's finished. But it's definitely happening! I don't think we'll be able to get them to people before christmas. We lost a whole week because an e-mail went into my spam folder.
Vile Little Goblin has done reasonably well considering my channel was completely dead at the time of uploading. Better than anything I've made since the Meth Orcs cartoon a year ago. Over the next few months my plan is to make a couple of shorts I've been wanting to make for a while before tackling some of the bigger ideas I have such as finishing Meth Orcs Cat out of Luck.
Hope you are all doing well!

Here's the public version, please share it if you feel inclined! Thanks again for supporting it, and if you haven't seen it yet, I hope you enjoy it!
Upcoming projects (I might not make all of them but this is what I'm interested in at the moment):
Despair - If you've seen a short I made in 2020 called Regret, it's kind of like that but with a bit more going on and instead of griping about haters the topic of angst this time is one of worst things about modern life... receiving e-mails. Intended to be loose and a bit crappy so wouldn't take long to make
Batman Parody - Not sure if I'll make this one. If you're curious about whether I could make an interesting batman parody encourage me to make it. Batman is wandering through the desert and finds a dead horse. Kinda short so wouldn't take that long to make.
Gooseman Runs for Office - Gooseman is in the final stretch of a race for a senate seat, but he faces damaging accusations from local gopher farmer Todd McGovern. Medium length/sized project.
Mr Big Beans - Cuthbert and Dante try a hot new café which makes amazing coffee, so good in fact that Cuthbert suspects that the beans are ensorcelled by dark magic. Quite large project.
Meth Orcs - Cat Out of Luck - Treshtog must rescue Fanny Ranger from the clutches of a wyvern, but his path is blocked by catboy assassins and a demented wizard. Very large project, lots of action, I spent all of February working on this and put it aside because it was breaking my brain. Will definitely finish!

For both of these songs, I drew from Córdoba by Isaac Albéniz. For Vile Little Goblin, the progression used in the bridge uses similar chords to a section from Córdoba. For Goblin Outro, the first section is another part of the Córdoba, with different timing. I'd have to say it's my favourite classical composition and I've used it a few times before, starting with with the whipping scene in Pleasure Island 2.

When I started this I had in mind more of a quick, loose cartoon with a simpler goblin design and sketchier backgrounds, but I could not stick to that at all, and animated it to my usual standard.
Please do not share it yet, a public version which will include the board member and shady investor credits will be out later this week. I will start the new board member drawings and thumbnail tomorrow, and also I want to make a new track for the credits. I'll delete this version after a while.
I think it turned out well, I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for supporting this project!

Somewhere near the equator a factory will soon make a spec Fernando plush toy. It will have a spear and *might* have a removable singlet. If you'd like to be notified by e-mail about it visit https://greasytales.gimmeswag.com/ (but I will also post about it here and will make a video when it's available).

I think this shot has turned out well, the line is "Running in the moonlight with actor Gary Busey". It's not quite finished, I will add more interesting shadows rather than ovals.
When I drew Gary I searched his name for some references and discovered he was charged with a sex crime a month ago....... I'm leaving him in the song though.

This is the only shot with goblin ladies in it. Certain individuals on discord have let me know they're interested in seeing "goblin short stacks", which are unusually voluptuous goblins, but I went with more normal designs. Can't go down every road. I enjoyed painting a very basic goblin tavern background.

I did however draw a juicy troll. I used the bird from the end of Great Destiny Man and the Forest of Doom.

Happy to say I'm over 50% on Vile Little Goblin. It's nice working on something that isn't intensely long, though this one is still pretty dense (less so than Purrnando though). The above shot took a long time for the amount of screen time it has but I need to establish the scene.

Bit of a spoiler but I'm coming up to this one tomorrow.
Before I go on, if you didn't catch my last post, my patreon is now per month rather than per creation. Hopefully no one is caught out by that.

Above is a quiet little old timey town. I didn't go very hardcore on designing the town, they all had the same architect.

Hopefully Patreon won't ding me for showing goblin peen. He'll have a mosaic blur over his groin on youtube. Newgrounds will get the uncut version.

The texture doesnt come out in the gif but it will be visible in the video. It's intended to be a tapestry. I looked at pictures of the Bayeux tapestry for ideas. In my head the characters are black and white but looking at them now I think I will add some basic colour.

I haven't tried something like this before in a cartoon, it's a cool and simple technique to draw over a texture and set the layer to multiply.

The hammock looks a bit clean doesnt it, I might have to add some filth to it.

You haven't lived until you've milked a stalactite.
Also, I've signed an agreement to make some Fernando plush toys! No designs or any visuals to share yet, but it will hopefully happen before christmas.

I’m going to change patreon to per month instead of per project.
Since late 2017 I have spent around half of my working time working on Bluey, a local kids show. My role on that show has ended, and I’m making cartoons full time again like I used to. I’d like to make large things and small things and not have to finish a project every month in order to make ends meet.
My goal is to not need to do ad reads. They helped fund my larger projects over the last few years, however I think they may harm the prospects of the video and cause less people to see the cartoon. I didn’t have an ad read on Purrnando and I don’t intend to have one on Vile Little Goblin. If the level of support remains high I won't have them in the future.

The only tier that will change is the Manwhore Industries Board Member tier. Instead of $100US per creation, it will be $50 per month. Patreon does not allow me to change the pledge amount of a tier that currently has patrons, so I've made a new board member tier. If you are a board member, please join the new tier, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you all for your support up until now! I don’t know what I’d be doing if this way of funding cartoons didn’t exist. My output would be crummier that’s for sure. My medium term plan is to continue making high quality shorts and music videos. In a couple of projects time I plan to finish the Meth Orcs episode I started earlier this year.

The header gif is the establishment shot for my new project Vile Little Goblin. It's another music video, and it's about a disgusting gross piece of shit goblin. Who is also sad.
![]()

Here's his first appearance. He lives in a very wet, fungal cave.

Later he gets his stab on.

I managed to work in a CU foot shot.
Purrnando was received very warmly but hasn't been viewed much. I wonder if it's because the thumbnail is too low energy or if it's just because viewers don't vibrate with Fernando anymore. I've tried a few consecutive projects with Fernando & Gooseman so it's time to move on to other ideas. I am thinking about drawing this thumbnail up and replacing the one I have:

I didn't go with it initially because I thought it was too porny but now I'm wondering if it matters much. There's no ad read on Purrnando because a) its too short and b) I wanted to see if it did better than the last few projects which would indicate that the ad reads were harming the videos prospects. I'd like to not do ad reads anymore if possible, for now I'm deciding project to project whether it's appropriate.
My current projects are Vile Little Goblin and Meth Orcs: Cat out of Luck, which I started back in February but shelved. I don't know if I will pick it up soon, there's a fair bit still to go. There's a number of shorter and longer ideas that I'd like to make, I am unsure where best to direct energies right now beyond this current project. What would you like to see more of?

It's taken a while, I'm very happy to put this one up finally. It's as dense as any music video I've made except for I'm a Horse.
My next project is Vile Little Goblin. It's another music video, this time set in a fantasy world.

I've spent a fair bit of the last month on Purrnando. I thought I'd be working but half the time they don't have anything for me to do or I'm waiting for feedback. Which is fine by me.

I bought a new microphone, a MXL 990. It sounds incredible for it's price. The Purrnando song is almost finished, and I'm looking forward to starting my next song which is called Vile Little Goblin.

I have a couple of more time consuming shots to go, and a handful of easy and medium shots. Overall I'd say 2/3 finished. I'm not sure when I'll publish because work is such a wildcard at the moment.

As for upcoming projects, if my goblin song turns out well I'd consider a music video for that, a shortish fantasy music video is not something I've done before and it could be nice. Never animated a goblin before either and I bet it would be fun.

I have some other song ideas I'd like to try out and also a fantasy short called Groanstaff about a guy who has a staff that groans.

Yoo hoo!

Sorry for not posting for a month, I'm mid way through a necessary work hiatus. It hasn't been quite as full time as I thought and I have managed to make some new shots. I'm behind on my work project because I was just obliterated by a flu, like sickest I can remember being except for food poisoning. Tested negative for covid for what that's worth. Not quite over it yet but can move around today.

I haven't actually finalised selecting the lyrics yet let alone finished the song. Also my microphone is broken so I need a new one. It's a shambles over here tbh.

This one isn't quite finished, I need to smooth Gooseman's animation and probably add an inbetween to him leaving so it's not so abrupt.

Pretty sure this one will be a slapper. Very fun so far. Lyrics are not complete, I've got two verses still blank and I'm leaving the submission period open for a while yet.

It's pretty depraved. Will probably get demonetised.

Other title ideas are Purrnando and What if Fernando was a Catboy? The second one might not seem great but asking questions in titles usually works. I'll probably go with Furnando though.

It won't be finished very quickly because I've accepted some work from the studio I work for sometimes. I didn't feel like I could say no because my last two projects have fizzed pretty badly and my youtube channel is dead at the moment even though I've been publishing projects. I'm disappointed because I think both Super Seductive Snake Showdown and Earthly Pleasures turned out well, but they're not what people want at this time it seems. I will keep going with my music video pivot though.
