So the thing about D4 (and a lot of modern AAA games) is that a lot of them use a live-service model. This means that, in order to remain actually profitable, they need a consistent player base or at the very least a number of whales who will buy everything you release. D4 sold a lot of copies on release, but games are very expensive to develop, and with D4 forcing multiplayer server costs probably aren't super cheap either. All this is to say that I agree with Dorki and that consumer sentiment absolutely matters. If Blizzard didn't make the changes they've made and they never got their player base back, the game would likely be considered a financial failure despite how well it sold on launch. I also think a lot of game devs - or rather, the execs at the top - vastly underestimate how valuable building a repertoire with your players is and instead focus on short-term profits over everything nowadays. If you burn enough goodwill with players, eventually they will stop buying your products.

For a new player that never got the chance to get the first brutosaur, im happy blizzard put this one in.

Max seems so disconnected. Gaslighting Dorki and trying to say the bugs are fine because this is how it’s been for 8 years, why shouldn’t they be held to a higher standard when this is such a large game. Why should the first week or two of a patch feel terrible to play just because that’s how it’s always been?

Civinn

Day9 is a gem, thanks for having him!

Warptime

i haven’t been playing wow for super long and after coming from other games where devs embrace bugs and exploits and glitches and don’t ban people i can’t for the life of me see why this community cares so much it’s kinda stupid to me imo, just a leaderboard number in a video game it’s not life and death

Will

Good luck hiring more people with the money Blizzard is willing to offer.

I think the mount would be fine if the game was a 10/10 or even 8-9/10 but its not. Most scuffed class buffs and nerfs ive seen in the 12+ years playing the game on top of bugs post the laying off of QA

After watching the day9 episode I think a great guest to have on next would be Xaryu. I think similar to venruki he would have a lot of great insight on the game from multiple perspectives and I think picking his brain about PvE would be very interesting.

Dorki is spot on with the coworker metaphor for guildies. At least at the level I'm at, guilds fall apart all the time. I've been through four guilds in four years. I join, we raid for a while, it falls apart, I move on to the next one. Sure, I make a few friends along the way, but it's not like I get to know every person in the guild. Hell, even when I stay in a guild consistently, the churn of people leaving and joining between patches is huge. To me, guilds feel like something more permanent than a Pug, but they definitely aren't a place where I'm going to know and love everyone.

My whole group of friends bought the brutosaur instantly. We all think they missed the mark on it price wise; $90 was clearly chosen so it doesn't look like a $100 price tag, but we all would have paid $250. What would yall have priced it at if you were in charge of getting the most money for this?

Balance is average...ele shaman is the worst aoe tuning ever... Yea nope
