Bicycle Safety Camp - Televoid!

HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF MY PATRONS FOR THIS!!!

This is the new series that I've been working on! The "Beat the Clock" episode was filmed in my living room, and to create the "void" I used a black table cloth and hung it from my curtains. After that pilot episode was well received, I decided to try and up the production value a bit. I built a small set in my (already crowded) bedroom, and that's what you're seeing in this video.

There's never been a clearer representation as to where your Patreon donations go to than right here, you guys basically set my production budget for this video/series. With Patron donations I got a large black backdrop, a new TV stand, a (stunning) fake potted plant, the ugliest orange chair ever made (that I am extremely in love with), some new lights (that color LED one is super cool), and some sound treatment panels for my bedroom since it's so echo-y. I'm super grateful to all of you for the opportunity to try something new and allowing me to be a bit more creative than I usually get to be.

That said, I know this isn't going to be everyone's cup-o-tea, some people are just here for the video games, and that's totally fine. I'm still figuring out the show in terms of tone and pacing, but hopefully after an episode or two I'll nail it. I really want this to be a show that everyone enjoys, I'll do my best!

Thank you all so much again, and feel free to leave me any kind of feedback!

I love the series so far and I'm glad to know I'm (even if it's a tiny amount) helping fund it! I hope you keep doing it, the concept is fun, this type of material is fun to see, just like I enjoy the bizarre obscure games you pick to review, MoneyTown was like this massive tripe down memory lane of a game I had forgotten had even existed. Your humor is great on whichever topic you choose. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely love the new series- this is a great idea, and can't wait to see what you cover next. Also, the potted plant and chair are both fantastic.

This was glorious. I love that you can distill the fun and goofiness from painfully earnest subject material like this. I feel like it'd be easy to just tear into it for the lolz, but there's just something too adorable and unassuming about classroom programming like this, in the same way a lot of those mediocre FMV games were convinced they were bringing something cutting-edge and mind-blowing to the table. It needs to be celebrated. If I get to look forward to a whole series of this, then I'm feeling pretty excited.

I had to stop watching the video a few times and take a break from all the cringing the subject matter was inducing in me. Between the 80s-ness of it, the fact that it was trying to appeal to kids, and the fact that it was trying to get kids interested in learning while still trying to appeal to kids, it was like a triple-layered cake of cringe. If I had sat through all of it without taking a few breaks, I'd probably have to be hospitalized from some sort of cringe-induced trauma. My feelings on 80s rapping edutainment aside, this was a fantastic video, and I'm so happy we were able to help you realize this new series. Your writing and performance was enjoyable as always. I'm probably going to cringe a lot more on future videos due to the subject matter, but don't take that as a slight against you, as I entirely support your new series.

A friend's comment: "I love that he's feeling a lot more MST3K-ish." I like the change to different mediums, and I'd say your production quality always feels excellent. You put a lot of love into your videos, and it really shows. Keep up the good work!

That was pretty great
