I've seen things on TV of people falling in love with inanimate objects, and while it seems strange, I'm slightly jealous!! LOL!! I wish I could love something that doesn't talk back and agrees with me all the time! When I heard people were falling in love with AI, or finding friendship in it, I decided to try it, but I have the opposite experience with it. They make me SO angry. I had to unplug Alexa because I was ready to smash her. I had the same problem with her that I do with people - she doesn't understand and/or hear me!!!

I think that our individualistic society happened on purpose, we are pushed toward or encouraged into individualism because it benefits “the people at the top” aka the people who benefit the most from capitalism. So, my fear is that Ai will only push us apart further or maybe faster. Social media is already doing that, and I don’t think the absence of Ai would suddenly fix the problem, but it’s a consequence I worry about. The unfortunate part is something that would have a positive impact is access to education, which is purposefully withheld. It’s not just about gaining information, it’s about being surrounded by different people, experiencing different lives, learning to sit beside and engage with people you’d normally never speak to, and of course how to think critically. Until we all have easy access to a place where we can learn to think and connect, I don’t know if it matters that we have social media, or ai pushing us apart. I suppose it would just slow down our separation if we did not have them. The solution seems so simple, if we all had equal access to places we could learn, connect, and heal (mental/physical health services), Ai would be less of a threat. But, solutions for the benefit of society don’t seem to be a priority for those who make the big decisions about society. All that to say, I do find it useful in some situations, I just wish it was along side in person connection for everyone.
