My neighbor is afflicted by what I believe is this. Last month he went into the apartment of the subject of his obesession while he was away, over a period of 12 hours ,13 times, and at each time removed something, a can of baked beans, a roll of toilet paper, a disposable razor. That coupled with the recipients use of emotion (witholding and reinitiating for material benefit ie money), has resulted in my neighbor absolutely living in torment. He is being evicted from the complex because of his behaviour. He is aware of this obsession, bu the says he cannot stop, he doesn't know what is wrong with hi, he is a gay male, aged 65, and the recipient is 40m aso gay. This person is all he talks about. My question is, how does he clear this limination from his mind?

2025-09-08 22:49:23 +0000 UTCI’m so excited for this deep dive! No one I know experienced limerence, but I did, multiple times. I remember researching these episodes I had and finding this term. I know there is no such thing in DSM, but still can’t wait to hear the scientific take on it.
