Jyla the Rogue!

If you were worried that Lilina and her two companions would be the only playable characters in Odyssey of Gianna, think again! There are five other characters that you can recruit in your journey, each one bearing a unique class and other traits. Today, we're looking at one of the first you're likely to meet - Jyla!

Jyla is a member of the avian race, who wear masks, usually have blue hair, and can sprout wings when they like - although some, like Jyla, have trouble doing so. As the title says, she's also a Rogue. Her stats are less than spectacular overall, but she makes up for it with several useful skills!

-One of them being the ability to equip two weapons, which lets her attacks hit twice.

In battle, you'll see that Jyla has a Combat meter just like Sable does. But she also has a special option: Sneak replaces Jyla's ability to Guard, but is very useful nonetheless. Using Sneak inflicts Jyla with the beneficial status Stealth. While affected by Stealth, the odds of enemies targeting Jyla with single-target attacks are reduced to a mere 10%. This does mean that they're more likely to target Jyla's allies, but it serves to defend her anyway. Think of it as an anti-Taunt.

-And she looks so sneaky!

Using Sneak also causes Jyla to generate 10 CP, which she can use for her Combat skills.

Jyla starts with three Combat skills:

• Double Strike, which is identical to Sable's.
• Steal, which lets her pickpocket items and gold from enemies.
• Assassinate, which is an expensive skill that Jyla can use only while Stealthed, but which deals massive damage and pierces through defenses.

As a little bonus, being the smooth, charismatic thief she is, Jyla also has the Seduce skill, which she can use for free at any time to inflict an ally with Aroused. It might seem useless, but you never know...
