Interviewer: It’s true, the environment surrounding manga is very different from that of the 1980s.

Miura: When we were in our youth, we had so many hurdles to be recognized by the people around us. Even if we drew a manga, there was hardly a chance that people would read it unless we submitted it somewhere and won a prize. Today, an individual can publish a manga on the Internet… However, we have a different problem in this case, as it has become easier for others to give their evaluation.

Interviewer: How do you feel about "the 40th anniversary" that will come next?

Miura: I want to be healthy. *laughs* These days I've strongly felt that if I had continued to live like when I was young, it would have progressively become impossible for me to preserve my body. I've paid much more attention to my health than during those days, but my strength is still waning. So I do muscle training or walking for my health, but then my working time is reduced. I'm sorry that I can’t work as ridiculously much as I did in the past, which causes the slow  publication of "Berserk", but I'm making efforts so that I can keep at it for a long time.
