Skullknight.net member Benoît recently registered only to spread the word that a rare illustration of Guts was included with the German version of volume 41, published by Panini. Of course I was intrigued and promptly ordered a copy myself.
Note that it isn't never-seen-before, since it had been included in Young Animal's commemorative issue for Kentarou Miura, which was magazine #18 of 2021. Anyway, the card is standard sized (145 mm x 105 mm) and doesn't pretend to be a postcard or anything: the back is blank. I've put it next to another card (from Japan) for reference. I forgot where that other one came from. Anyway, for me personally, given the rarity of that illustration, it was worth paying 8 euros.
By the way, a few things are worth nothing about that German volume: it doesn't have insert posters; the dust jacket is very thin, to the point where it's translucent; the little dust jacket illustration is replaced with an old school painting of Guts from the Black Swordsman arc; instead of Puck, there's an illustration of Rochine at the back. A lot of puzzling choices.
P.S. Sorry that updates have been a little sparse lately, been buried under a mountain of work. I should have some good stuff coming soon, starting with a little picture diary of my trip to Japan, which could serve as a companion piece to our podcasts and to Walter's great post on the topic.
