Exactly.... One thing though, they have a system of picking up kids and also it is safe for kids to walk the streets. That is one good thing. Another thing is that there are still lots of stay-at-home moms. If desperate, family like grandparents will help out. Still too much work..... it stems from history of constant fight for survival. It is kinda natural for Koreans.

I feel even in India the work-life balance could be bad though it would depend case by case. But I feel usually people just go home after work and we don't really have much of a drinking culture. Honestly, I feel the drinking culture is still kinda frowned upon though the younger generation is open to it but mostly outside with friends etc. (Personally from what I am aware of). ----- Also, 칠곱 was so funny haha. When I was studying Korean, we referred to 하나 둘 셋 system as Native Korean numbers, and 일 이 삼 사 system as the Sino-Korean numbers. I still kinda get confused with numbers tho, so at work, I have this cheatsheet-Post-it note with the numbers written on it for quick interpretations. ----- And I hope you have a great trip! See you with the next episode :)

American work-life balance (or the lack of it) is often a joke in Europe, but I really cannot imagine the working hours in South Korea. In Bulgaria (where I am from) working overtime is rare and compensated. I cannot imagine how the women (parents) manage to get their children from kindergarten or school, or how the families spend time together...and to be obliged to go for drinks so often. It is really a different culture. The studying is also so different...going home at midnight - the parents will strat a revolution here:)
