Not by abstinence but replacement. I picked a time where I could just chill and indulge myself in games for myself without any major responsibilities, since I no longer have that chance in any other circumstance. And then combine that with the knowledge that the worst of it is really just a week or so and then every day is progressively easier. Long term I find is harder than short term because of lifestyle temptations, friends, etc

You pointed out in this episode that the Outtie has gotta do sleep so it's not like there's much time to even spend that much money anyway lol

If I hadn't watched the show and knew nothing, I think I'd start getting tempted at $250,000 / year, assuming I was convinced I could quit anytime. This question made me realize that it also makes your year shorter so it feels like you make money faster.
