2025-01-03 03:41:39 +0000 UTCLet’s go! I absolutely love this episode. It’s very similar to last in that there’s more mystery building and questions, but the horror and tension is cranked up a notch. It reminds me of some of those early S1 episodes where we were working off of little info. As a side note, Subaru reacted that way after using his shamac spell because his gate is still damaged after his fight with Julius. Ferris said he shouldn’t use magic for a number of months, or there’ll be consequences. Ofc I don’t blame him for using it in this scenario though. I understand where Emilia is coming from, her doing the trials would not only be symbolic, but also personally uplifting assumedly if Subarus is anything to go by. There’s also pressure from Roswaal, and while I can’t exactly blame Subaru for wanting to do it, it’s a sticky situation, that needs a little more of a deft touch than “I’ll just do it.” Love all the character interactions and dynamics this episode, lots of fun and interesting banter. It’s always been a strength of this show. But Ram is the standout for me this ep. I love all the scenes she’s in. Great thoughts as always, and excited for the next ones, I absolutely love the next stretch of episodes.

2025-01-03 03:18:00 +0000 UTCI'll take the bait every time. 2:40, sadly just slightly pre-dating Duck Tales, is Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol," that came out in 1843. 7:00 "Subaru has memories of death in every conceivable way." - > oh.... oh dear, haha. My man, we're still not even halfway through Season 2. The novels aren't even finished yet, haha. Who knows what hells the author has in store for various characters.
